Hello. I started this story some years ago. I found it and decided to continue it, with more consistency.
Here is chapter 4. I hope you like it. R & R.
I do not own Star Wars.
Moments before…
Siri was blocking the attacks of Grievous, which was turning out to be a very difficult task. She was hoping Joman was able to shut down the rest of the droids. She had heard some battle noises coming from the room he was in.
General Grievous seemed determined to finish her as quickly as he could. Siri had been able to defend herself, but he was growing stronger and stronger with every attack he made. This had turned out to be very problematic as she was not able to be the one in the offensive.
She positioned herself to start the counterattack. As the new attack from the General came, she deflected the blue lightsaber and took the opportunity for an attempt of slashing the robotic arm. Which she did, just not the one holding the lightsaber. As her attack was about to hit, Grievous' arm snapped and divided itself, so it became two arms where there was one. This allowed the General to take the blow with the arm that was not holding the lightsaber and, as it fell to the ground, he grabbed Siri with his claw and put her against the corridor's wall, making her drop her lightsaber.
She felt one of the claws had stabbed her in her torso, which made her scream just as blood started to make its way to the floor. She was immobilized, wounded and about to be slashed by General Grievous, who outmatched her with all the surprise abilities this droid… no… person had. She could sense a presence, a conscious. This was not a droid, but certainly was not fully a person.
General Grievous was about to give the final blow when Joman appeared, lightsaber ignited, and blocked the attack. He looked shocked, confused, and scared. Siri felt for him. His first mission was not going well, and his master was feeling weaker and weaker under the General's claws. She managed to alert the rest of the squadron, activating the wristband which would give the location where she was. It was only supposed to be used at the end of the mission, in the hangar, but if it were activated anywhere else, her master would know something went wrong.
As Joman started attacking Grievous, the latter lost the grip he had on Siri and she fell to the floor. Unable to move and help her padawan, she saw as he managed to barely keep the General from slashing him. She was nervous, but glad he was no regular padawan. A regular padawan would not last five seconds against this kind of strength. Joman was at a very noticeable disadvantage, but he was holding up and, most importantly, still alive and with energy.
Siri kept trying to gain some strength, enough to help Joman escape, even if it meant she could not make it back. She was determined her padawan would not fall, at any cost. Suddenly she felt master's Gallia's presence. She was getting close. The thought of her being on the ship made her see the possibility of everyone going back alive. This was interrupted as Joman blocked an attack but was hit hardly with one of the General's arms.
On the floor, stunned and with Grievous moving fast to give the last attack to Joman, Siri found the strength needed to force push the general in the other direction. Grievous went flying and landed on the wall on the other side of the corridor just as Adi Gallia with some clones entered the place and started shooting at the general.
With all the pain burning through her, she got up and, with the help of her padawan, who was up again, went the way of the jedi master who went ahead of the clones to protect her apprentice and Joman from the fast General who was coming for them.
The lasers shot from the clones did not seem to do much damage. At least those did not help slowing him down. It was only Adi Gallia and her lightsaber who prevented the two younger jedi from being killed. She demonstrated major skills in velocity and lightsaber duel against the tall enemy. This gave Siri and Joman enough time to escape with the help of the clones, while Adi Gallia started to retreat and managed to block the General by closing the entrance of the corridor.
"You two…" Adi Gallia pointed with her lightsaber to a couple of clones. "Take Siri. Help her. She cannot stand and I need Joman. We will open the way to the ships".
"Right away, General." Came the response from the clones.
With this improvised strategy, Omega squadron went through the ship until they finally reached the hangar where the ships were. The two standing jedis blocked the shots from the droids that were trying to prevent them from escaping. Once the Siri was taken in one of the bigger ships with the clones, and the droids in the hangar were finished, Adi and Joman boarded their respective ships and followed the clones to their cruise.
Once in the ship, Joman and Adi Gallia went straight to the medical room where Siri had been taken. They were informed that she lost consciousness during the flight and her vitals were dropping. Inside, the medical team were working to stabilize her, but the scenery was harsh to take, specially for the two jedi.
"How many did we lose in that ship?". Asked the jedi master.
"Two soldiers on arrival and three more while going back to the ships, sir". Said one of the clones. "Including our captain". He finished in a lower tone.
Joman seemed lost in thought, arms crossed. He was thinking on those who gave their lives today. Was it worth it? What had they accomplished? Was his master joining them? Those thoughts were now in his head.
As this was happening, Adi Gallia received a message from Master Yoda.
"Master Gallia, won today we have. Great help to deactivate the droids it was". Said the Grand Master. "Still, Count Doku, to escape he has managed. The Clone Wars begun they have".
Adi Gallia nodded. "Glad we managed to help, Master. It was thanks to the bravery of the troops". She then asked, "Are Master Kenobi along with Skywalker and the Senator alright?".
"Alive but injured, they are. Going back to the ship soon we will". Replied Yoda. "Anxiety from you I sense".
"Master Tachi was injured in battle". Confirmed Adi Gallia. She seemed trouble. "She is in the medical room, but no news. The General of the droid army, General Grievous battled her. He is different master, he looks like a droid, yet he has a presence, conscious. He was trained in lightsaber fight".
It was clear she was fond of her former padawan. After all, she had seen her grow through the years and taught her everything she knew. She hoped… No… She knew she will do the same with Joman. There was a lot of potential in the Padawan, but also in the Master.
"For the best we hope". Replied Yoda. "Soon we shall meet. For good news we will wait. About this General Grievous we will also talk".
With that the communication ended. She went to Joman to encourage him. But before she managed to do it the ship's alarm went off and clones were running in every direction. Omega squad was still being checked; the ones that were not injured went to help in battle. General Grievous' ship was attacking, but they could not leave until the clones and jedi that were down on the planet arrived at the cruises. They would have to hang on until that happen so they would be able to go to lightspeed.
"Joman, I am going to the command room. We need to make sure everyone arrives safe, so we leave to Coruscant". Said Adi Gallia. "Please stay here until the council members and the rest of the jedi arrive. Watch for the medic, soon we shall know about Siri". She put a hand on his shoulder before continuing, "They are going to be good news. Have faith".
He nodded as she left with the now captain of Omega squadron and two other members. He just sat down when a medical droid came out. He instantly rose and went where it was.
"What is the news? How is Master Tachi?". Asked Joman. Nervousness clear in his voice.
"Master Tachi was severely injured when she arrived. She lost a lot of blood, and some organs were perforated". Answered the droid. So far those were not the good news Joman was hoping for. "She is now stabilized, she will recover, but it will take time. She is now awake. You can go in before she rests, which she needs".
He did not need more information. He went straight inside and could not help but to smile when he saw his master in the medical bed. She turned to face him but looked weak. He went to her side and looked at her. She was covered by blankets except for her face, which still had some dry blood from battle.
"Joman, I am glad you are alright". She expressed with relief. "I am sorry I could not help more. I failed you". Her eyes were locked on his. He could see the sadness in hers.
"No, Master. I am glad you are alright. You were stabbed by the General and yet you helped. I am alive because of you". He spoke. "Hadn't you pushed him, I would be now dead for real. Honestly, I do not know how I managed to survive his attacks. It felt so overwhelming".
"It looks like we were not meant to die today, Padawan" She replied. She was feeling very tired. The ship kept shaking from blast of the battle. She knew she needed to rest but she wanted to help. She tried to move but the pain was too much. Joman stopped her and motioned her to lean back on the bed.
"No, Master. You are done for now, you need the rest. Master Gallia and the clones are dealing with it. Master Yoda and the rest are coming back. We will go to lightspeed as soon as they are inside the ship".
She nodded and his com link started beeping.
"Yes, Master?". He answered to Master Gallia.
"Joman, are you still in the medical area?" She was in a serious, focused state.
"Yes, Master Tachi is stabilized. She is going to rest". Said Joman.
"That is good news. But we do not have time right now to chat". Her tone changed as a clone said something inaudible to him. "There has been a breach in the ship. There are droids and we are are not sure, but we think General Grievous might be here too". Siri's and Joman's face went white. Master Gallia continued. "Take the rest of Omega squadron that are able to fight and intercept them near the hangar. You are to slow them down, if there is Grievous do not engage, you tell me right away, understood?" She finished.
"Yes, Master. I am going right away". Said Joman with a last look to Siri before leaving the room, leaving her with a concerned room. He alerted four members of the squadron and informed them of the situation. He then turned to other members that were there, but with a few injuries. "Keep guard of this room. General Tachi is not to get up, leave alone leave the room".
Siri did not look very happy. She clearly knew what he was saying on the other side. He managed to give her a confident look and left with the clones, not knowing what was coming.
