Goldie stared into the kitchen as he thought about what Spring had said I can't believe anyone would do such a thing... He thought shaking his head.
"Goldie?" he heard Chica ask and he looked up, she was standing in the kitchen doorway, he smiled softly at her.
"Yes, dear?" he asked slowly, trying to bring himself out of his stage mode. When he has too much on his mind he tends to revert into his other stage personality, similar to how, when Spring is nervous or untrusting, his voice turns gains a southern accent.
"Tiff and Fred are fighting again; do you know where Spring is? I was hoping he could help us with them." She explained and he glanced behind him at the living room.
"Yes, I do. I'm afraid he is rather occupied at the moment dearie, I apologize." He said bowing to her slightly, albeit on ascendant. It's so darn hard to get out of this mode he thought, frustrated.
"Oh, umm," said Chica uncertainly, "It's okay I guess… Are you okay?" she asked and he had the urge to just say no, but he decided differently.
"I'm afraid not… I have had rather pressing issues as of late." He replied, trying his best to bring his voice back to normal, but to no avail. Ah well, I guess ill just deal with it till it passes then…. He thought.
"Oh, is there anything I ca do?" asked Chica as he frowned and looked off in thought.
"I don't believe so, sadly." He said shaking his head but as he looked at her, he could see she really wanted to help, her eyes begging him to tell her the truth.
"Alright," he said, caving, "Spring just told me something… more than disturbing, and I believe he may be right, however much I want to ignore the fact…. It's rather hard." He said sighing and Chica tilted her head; he took a breath and continued.
"When Spring was… Shipped away… He had recently had an accident with his… former… human partner…." He said looking away from the chicken; I can't tell her… can i? Dose she already know? He thought uneasily.
"Was… was he like us?" she asked and he glanced at her, confused. She looked down and grabbed her arm.
"Did he get him too?" she asked and he looked away. He took a deep breath, trying to clear his mind.
"In a sense," he said and looked her in her eyes, "He was taken differently than most of you, as was I." He said, deciding that if he told the others, he would tell them with his golden counterpart.
"He recently told me what exactly made him so… Cynical… about Mike and Stacy." He said slowly as Chica walked closer to him.
"He-" Goldie was cut off by Mike walking out of the living room, with a seven foot bunny close behind him, both of them snickering like idiots. Goldie shot Spring a confused look.
"Guess what y'all?" asked Mike smiling at them and Spring snickered and starred at Goldie intently, he noticed the missing half of his arm had nice shiny, brand new, hand.
"I'm afraid to ask." Said Goldie shaking his head but smirking, Spring smiled like a crazy man.
"We were able to fix my glitching voice!" he said, his long ears standing straight up in excitement. Goldie smiled and he heard Chica squeal behind him. It's been so long since I heard his voice… It hasn't changed a bit, your still the exited little bunny I knew oh, so long ago Thought Goldie.
"That's great Spring!" said Chica running up to the tattered hare and giving him a tight hug, Spring, to Goldie surprise, returned it with a huge grin on his face.
"Bonnie's next too!" said his partner bobbing up and down a bit, Goldie chuckled a little.
"Yup, I have and extra arm for Bonnie, my uncle, Wade is working on his new face for him." Said Mike shrugging and Spring nodded enthusiastically. Goldie noticed his counterpart was actually bouncing slightly, the way he used to before a new show would start. He had quite a bit more of his tattered fur missing, from his legs and a little more around his chest, exposing his patchwork endoskeleton.
"When exactly will we be able to retune to the pizzeria Mr. Carter?" asked Goldie, and sniffed slightly as he realized his voice still hadn't tuned back to normal.
"Umm," said Mike, rubbing his chin, "In about a week or so? Stace has been working pretty hard over there and she said she already has the tiling people in, but I still need to get you over to Uncle Wade to get y'all's new fur on." He said shrugging and Goldie nodded, he noticed Spring seemed to be eyeing him He probably noticed my voice, ugg, this is so awkward… He thought as they all stood there in silence.
"Well…Umm….. Should I go get Bonnie then?" asked Chica and Spring immediately nodded and smirked.
"Yeah, that would be great! Bring him to the garage though." said Mike, seemingly un-nerved my Spring's reaction. Chica smiled and nodded and lightly walked off, Spring leaned down next to Mike's ear and whispered something that made Mike laughed.
"You're so weird sometimes." Said Mike shaking his head and heading down to the garage, Spring smirked and stuck his tongue out at Mike's back.
"Really Spring? So mature." said Goldie shaking his head but smiling. He looked at Spring, who was just standing there smiling at the stairs. He watched as his counterpart abruptly turned back to him and tilted his head.
"Why have you gone all show stagey on us?" he asked and Goldie sighed, he looked away a bit and shifted his weight.
"I've just been thinking a lot about rather… Stressful…Things." Said Goldie slowly and Spring chuckled, Goldie glanced at him and tilted his head.
"You're so stressy Gold. Ya just gotta let somethings flow!" said Spring patting him gently on the back. He smiled and sighed, wishing he could just give his partner a hug, even though his advice was very iffy, it had lightened his mood.
"Mike said that we can leave today to get our new fur! He just needs some time to fix up the bigger issues with us, since he has to wait a bit for the other parts to come." Said Spring taking a couple steps away from Goldie to look him in the eye's as he talked. Goldie couldn't help but stare at his counterpart's gray eyes; he remembered them being a bright green. The color had faded significantly in the last seventeen years, but that wasn't very surprising. Goldie's own blue eye's had faded into an almost light blue, rather then the dark blue they had originally been. But why is his gray? He thought, not realizing he was staring at his partner.
"Gold?" Asked Spring, bringing him out of his thoughts, Goldie looked away and shifted uncomfortably.
"Sorry, I was just lost in thought…" he said slowly turning away from the hare. He glanced back, not quiet sure why he was embarrassed.
"Its fine Fred, anyway, as I was saying," continued Spring , Goldie hummed nervously, " Mike said he was really excited to reboot the pizzeria, he said he didn't really want to upgrade all the arcade games, but turns out all of them are broken beyond repair anyway. He said him and Stace were thinking of putting IPads and stuff instead, like what the toys had, but then they decided against it. He said he wanted to be more like the Diner." Said Spring, his mechanical ears pointed straight up as he looked at Goldie, who smiled at him.
"Umm," he said glancing behind him, unsure if what exactly what the hare was listening to, "That's, umm….Cool?" he said, unsure of himself. He sighed, maybe I'm just low on battery or something… he thought, trying to figure out why he was so tense and unsure of himself.
"Um, yeah, I thought so…" said Spring his ear twitching, he walked a little closer to him, and Goldie took a step back.
"Dude, what's wrong?" asked Spring, stopping. Goldie glanced away and sighed.
"I don't know, I…I must be on battery or something…. I should probably go rest, good day." He said turning away from his partner and walked down stirs, he could feel Spring's eyes on his back as he walked further down the stairs. What's wrong? Is something inside me glitching? Agh, this is so frustrating! He thought grabbing the side of his head as he walked into the basement, he sighed rubbing under his eyes as he sat down. He felt like he just wanted to recharge, but he doubted Mike had any recharging stations. Sleeping somewhat recharged them, but it was more like they were constantly on ten percent, him and Spring anyway. He knew his partner had built the other differently, the longer they 'slept' the more they would charge. Not so for him and Spring sadly. He sighed, crossing his arms and closing his eyes, wishing he could sleep. He knew he should probably go see what the others were doing, but he honestly didn't want to move. He thought back on what Spring had said about what those people had done. It was hard to believe someone would be that cruel, but he had seen worse. After all, what kind of man kills children with a smile on their face? He sighed again and starred at the wall, Why are we still here? He thought as he felt his whole being droop. He glanced at the stairs as someone walked down, he tilted his head as Fred walked down and sat down next to him, a scrawl on his face. He watched Fred silently for a while, half wandering what to do.
"Goldie?" asked the smaller bear, finally looking up at him, Goldie raised his eyebrows.
"Yes?" he said as Fred looked down at his hands, the golden bear shifted a bit, he hadn't expected anyone to come down. Fred shifted uncomfortably, staring down at his paws.
"Am I a bad bear?" asked Fred, Goldie tilted his head at the strange question; he pressed his lips together in thought.
"No, I don't think so… Why?" he asked shifting slightly to face the small bear properly. Fred sniffed and wiped his nose, looking away from Goldie. He watched the small bear closely, noticing he looked as if he were about to cry.
"I donno, I just feel like everything I do is weird. What I feel is weird…. But, I just….i just…" Fred looked away and sniffed, a tear running down his cheek. Goldie wrapped his arm around the little animatronic, pulling him closer.
"It's alright…" he said as Fred grabbed some of his fur, crying softly into it. He rubbed the kids back softy and tried to think of something to say to him. His ear twitched as he thought of something that would lighten, hopefully, whatever Fred was crying about.
"Ya know? One time, a long while ago, me and Springy were preforming in front of a group of teenagers. We were doing our normal act, but they didn't seem interested at all. So you know what Spring did?" he asked and felt the smaller bear shake his head, slightly.
"He went off script and started talking to me about how no one ever paid attention to us anymore, and started naming their names… First he called out the girl in the group, Erica I think her name was, her expression was priceless! She was defiantly a funny human, her and Spring would always crack each other up. But the highlight of that moment was when he started talking to Donnie, or Don as he liked to be called. He would always try and out do the poor guy on his banjo, and Don would always tell him, 'SpringBon, you know there's a difference between guitar and banjo?' and then they would always have competitions anyway. Honestly it sounded horrible when they tried to do a duet." Said Goldie chuckling, he heard Fred giggle softly though his fur and he smiled.
"Spring said that you and him were best friends, he also said that you could be really protective of him…" said Fred, although it was mostly muffled since he said it into Goldie's fur. I wish he knew… but Spring would flip out if he knew how I felt…. Or would he… Ugg, it's so hard to tell what he's thinking, I don't even know how he would react… he thought, his ears drooping.
"I wish Tony and I were like that…." said Fred quietly. Goldie tilted his head and looked down at the little bear.
"Is that why you feel weird? Almost…. Out of place?" he asked slowly, but before Fred could answer Bonnie walked in.
"Hey, Mike told me to tell you that were about to leave to his uncle's house…So… Yup…" said the purple bunny, pushing his lips to the side in the awkward silence.
"He fixed your voice…. That was really fast…" said Goldie slowly
