Listen to Me 3
"What did they do?" The first thing that blurted out of Aizawa's mouth. If those were just the comments, than he probably couldn't imagine what they did to him.
"It's nothing. Really. You don't need to-" The lie just to seep through more and more, he could almost taste it. He took a deep breathe in. He was so going to kill someone.
"Midoriya." That seem to shut up the green hair boy as he just closed his mouth.
"Please, this is…this is so old. It's…" Izuku had no ideHea how to explain it.
Would they kick him out if they found out he was quirkless?
He didn't want to worry his mother or classmates. He always tried to hide the notebooks, keep it from getting discovered. Life always seem to have other plans for him.
"I mean, I…I don't-I don't even like…think like…that…I mean." His stuttering got worse and he silently curse under his breathe. He inwardly panicked. He looked at the wall trying to avoid eye contact with Aizawa-sensei. The wall seemed more interesting right now.
He glanced at everything else in room, desperately trying not to look at Aizawa.
He was mad wasn't he?
He waved his hands around, trying to dismiss the topic. It wasn't even that serious.
He looked at Aizawa. He was staring right back at him, seemingly listening, but not even looking remotely convinced.
He gripped the book, bending it. Trying to think of something.
"I have friends now. And Kacchan and I are like…almost okay normally, and." Izuku cheerily bounced on his feet. It was true. He had friends now that cared. Kacchan wasn't so bad anymore. He took a breath in. There was a weight on his chest, it weighed down on him, making it hard to breath.
He gulped.
"All the other people, I don't…" Izuku looked away as he felt the burning glare from Aizawa.
"I don't really ever see them so…so it's fine! This-This doesn't matter. So it's-"
"This matters, Midoriya. More than any hero work I could teach you."
No it doesn't matter.
It was ages ago. He didn't think about it anymore.
Well only slightly, but it doesn't matter.
It really wasn't a big deal.
He shook his head slightly in disagreement to Aizawa's statement.
"No. No, I-" He shook his head again and again. He was fine now. He wasn't sure who he was talking to, himself or Aizawa-sensei.
"They bullied you. Ruthlessly from the sounds of it." Izuku was about to protest, but closed his mouth. He looked away, shame, sadness, maybe a bit of frustration.
He bit his bottom lip. He didn't want to be reminded of his past.
"The type of taunting that eats away at your spirit. That is what was happening, right?" Izuku couldn't. He had flashbacks, every single word that rolled effortlessly out of those bloody mouths. Every punch, every kick, every scar and burn and the amount of time they used their quirks and all the time a spider lily was laid on his desk and every time people shut him out, refusing to listen to his cries and…and... And. Izuku was at the verge of tears, but refuse to let them fall. No.
Looking up at the ceiling. He wasn't a weakling anymore. He shouldn't cry like one.
"Yes, but-"
"Then we need to talk about this. Especially if you're still feeling-"
"No, I-I." Izuku interrupted Aizawa. He didn't need to talk about it. It wasn't necessary.
"Don't you dare lie."
Aizawa~
"Can you just…pretend you never-" Aizawa was really done. He wanted him to pretend he never what? Saw his notebook? Saw the fact that he even thought about attempting suicide? Having this conversation? No.
"Sit."
