(Elena wakes up. She hears a noise. She gets out of bed).
Elena: Hello? Jeremy? Hi?
(Elena tries to turn on the light, but there is no power).
Logan (on TV): This is Logan Fell]
"Ahh" groaned Damon. "That idiot again doesn't."
[coming to you live from the streets of Mystic Falls with the latest news of another deadly animal attack. The wild animal that terrorizes the citizens of Mystic Falls has claimed another victim, local student Elena Gilbert. The police are confident that the forensic evidence will confirm that it is the same animal responsible for the recent attacks.
Damon: You know what comes next.
(Elena runs. She opens the front door, sees Damon and closes it. She walks slowly towards the stairs, but Damon grabs her and bites her neck)].
All the humans in the room shuddered, they all knew what it was like to be bitten by a vampire, they all knew how it hurt.
"Hm ... It never happened, and I'm sure I never dreamed of it." Said Elena frowning.
"It's because it wasn't you that Damon decided to upset that morning, it was me. He was in the habit of getting into my head and messing with it for fun." Stefan said looking at Damon angrily.
"What can I say? It is always a lot of fun to mess with you dear brother." Damon said with a shrug.
[SALVATORE PENSION.
(Stefan wakes up in his room).
Stefan: Ahh!
Damon: Bad dream? Do you know how easy it was to get into your head now? You really need some human blood. You can even the playing field. Football reference. Too early.
(Stefan throws a knife at Damon, hitting him in the stomach. Damon pulls him)].
"Ahh, the sibling rivalry." Said Lizzie with an amused smile.
"Do you remember when we were the ones who threw objects that could kill each other? It looks like it was yesterday. " Josie joked, making Lizzie laugh.
All the students at Salvatore school looked at them in disbelief, after all, the Saltzman twins were the last people who should be playing with this kind of thing.
"That was because it happened yesterday." Hope said dumbfounded.
"Oh yes, I threw a vase at you in the middle of an argument." Said Lizzie laughing. "Why were we even fighting?"
"I don't know, I don't even remember, but, I think I threw a book at you." Josie said laughing.
Almost everyone in the room was shocked by the sisters laughing about their fights.
The Salvatore brothers and the Mikaelsons brothers were amused by the whole situation, they knew what it was like to want to kill a brother in one minute and the next to be right with him.
[Damon: Okay, I deserved it. But I just wanted you to know, they got the culprit. The animal responsible for killing Coach Tanner and all those people.
Stefan: What are you talking about?
Damon: It was a mountain lion. Really big. He attacked a hunter this morning. It's in all the news. "Deadly beast captured. Everything is fine at Mystic Falls."
Stefan: Why would you cover your tracks?
Damon: I decided to stay awhile. And I'm having a lot of fun here with you and Elena.
Stefan: I can't touch you right now.
Damon: Well, verbena keeps me out of her head. Perhaps that is not my target. Believe it or not, Stefan, some girls don't need my persuasion. Some girls just can't resist my good looks, my style, my charm and my unwavering ability to listen to Taylor Swift].
"Are we sure he isn't her father, Lizzie?" Asked Penelope with her mouth open in shock.
"Yes, we are sure, but I may have been influenced over the years, after all he is my godfather." The blonde responded by rolling her eyes in amusement, he and his uncle Damon had similar personalities. Her aunt Bonnie liked to joke that she and Josie were the Salvatore brothers of the new generation.
"Your godfather? I am surprised that Ric and Caroline would let me get close to you. " Said Damon.
"Well, you are not that stupid in the future, you are even responsible enough for them to let you take care of us when we were children. The fact that you are human again probably earned you points. " Said Josie.
"Human? Did he really take the cure? " Stefan and Elena asked in surprise, they really thought Damon would turn yellow.
Damon rolled his eyes in annoyance, he loved Elena more than anything in the world, nor could death separate him from his love of life.
He wanted to get married, have children and grow old with Elena. He liked the vampire more than he would give up on vampirism without thinking twice about it.
"Yes, he took the cure a few weeks before Aunt Bonnie figured out how to get Aunt Elena out of the magic coma." Said Lizzie.
"Aunt Elena went back to college and Uncle Damon bought Mystic Grill." Said Josie.
"This is not a bad idea, it is a good investment." Said Damon with a thoughtful look, the Grill is his favorite place in town, and he always wanted to own a bar, it's like killing two rabbits in one shot.
[(Damon stabs Stefan in the stomach. It clearly hurts Stefan more than Damon, as Stefan falls to the ground)
Damon: This is John Varvatos, man. Dick moves.
(Stefan removes the knife).
(Stefan is writing in his diary).
Sheriff Forbes (on TV): I can confirm that a 3.6 meter puma mountain lion attacked a hunter and was later shot and killed. The hunter is in a stable condition.]
Caroline had to try hard not to start crying when she saw her mother alive again, it hurt too much.
[Stefan: The real animal is still out there, waiting for me, challenging me to fight, to stop it. But how do I stop a monster without becoming one?
-GILBERT RESIDENCE
Logan (on TV): Again, the animal that terrified Mystic Falls has been captured.
Jenna: Foam ball. Slag bucket].
"She really doesn't like him." Hope said amused.
[Elena: Who are you talking to?
Jenna: Him.
Elena: The news guy?
Jenna: Also known as Logan "Scum" Fell. Did your mother ever tell you why I moved out of Mystic Falls?
Elena: Oh, no way. You and him? He is cute.
Jenna: He's not cute. There is nothing cute about it. What are you doing with that?
Elena: I went yesterday and got it from the safe. Mom told Mrs. Lockwood that she would lend it to the founder's advice for her display of inheritance.
Jenna: Is that Grandma Beth's wedding ring?
Elena: Originally it was great-great-grandmother Mary's wedding band.
Jeremy: How much do you think this thing is worth? You know, like on eBay?
Elena: You will not find out.
Jeremy: These things are from mom and dad. You cannot just donate.
Elena: I am not revealing. It's called a loan, Jeremy].
"I would never donate a Jeremy family heirloom." Elena said rolling her eyes.
"Honestly, I think I was just trying to fight. Why until you took that watch I hadn't even thought about it. " Said Jeremy.
[Doorbell rings.]
Stefan: Hi.
[Elena drags him into the house and kisses him passionately.]
Elena: Hi.
[In Elena's room.]
[Stefan and Elena are kissing. Stefan is kissing Elena's neck when he looks in the mirror and sees what her face has changed. He sits down.]
Elena: Are you okay?
Stefan: I'm fine. Sorry.
Elena: Maybe we should press pause.
Stefan: Yes, you are probably right. This was getting a littl e ...
Elena: Yes.
Stefan: Yes.
Elena: How do you look in a suit?
Stefan: I can take one.
Elena: How about tomorrow night? Will you be my companion at the Founders' Party?]
"Do they still have these parties?" Elena asked the students at Salvatore school.
"Yea." Josie replied.
[Stefan: Do they still do that?
Elena: Have you been before?
Stefan: No, Salvatore's are no longer invited.
Elena: Well, this year, there is this inheritance project that meant a lot to my mom. She was really involved in the founder's advice, and it was his favorite party. I know it looks very boring, but-]
"I agree, it's really annoying, I went to that party twice and lost two hours of my life." Said Lizzie rolling her eyes.
"It's not that bad, your mom loved it." Matt said making Caroline look at him in horror, she and Matt didn't date for long, but he should know that she didn't like these parties she just went to be with the Forbes family since her mother hardly had time to go to these events and her father was absent.
"Believe it or not, Mom isn't exactly a fan of the founders' party, she stays for an hour or two at the most and leaves. She says they are too boring. " Said Lizzie.
"Exactly." replied Caroline in exasperation.
[Stefan: I would be honored to accompany you, Miss. Gilbert.
Elena: The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Salvatore.
-FORBES RESIDENCE
[Caroline's room. Caroline is trying on dresses for the Founder's Party.]
Damon: No yellow. Jaundice. Go for the blue.
Caroline: I don't like blue.]
"Me neither, for some reason we Forbes girls have a color problem, Mom and I like dark colors and Josie likes warm colors." Said Lizzie.
"Really you and Caroline get better with dark or pastel tones, Josie really looks like someone who would look good in shades of yellow, orange and red." Rebekah said looking between the twins and Caroline.
These just nodded in agreement with what Mikaelson said.
[Damon: Well, I want to. And if I'm going to be your date-]
"Don't finish that sentence." Barry and James said. They would never talk like that to a girl, but Lizzie Saltzman was their best friend, they knew better than imposing an outfit for a Forbes girl.
[Caroline: You can't be my date. My mom will be there, and she is a very proud gun owner.
Damon: I went through a lot of trouble making sure that this party was not canceled. It is very important that I am there. Please take me].
"Really, Damon?" Elena asked the boyfriend who cowered in the seat.
[Caroline: You should come to the founder's party with me.
Damon: Not if you're wearing that dress. What's so special about this girl Bella? Edward is so crazy].
"I agree" said Rebekah, Hayley, Hope and Penelope simultaneously.
[Caroline: You have to read the first book first. It won't make sense if you don't.
Damon: Ah, I miss Anne Rice. She was so worried.
Caroline: Why don't you shine?]
All the vampires in the room laughed at Caroline's naivete.
[Damon: Because I live in the real world, where vampires burn in the sun.
Caroline: Yes, but you go to the sun.
Damon: I have a ring. It protects me. Long story.
Caroline: Will these bites turn me into a vampire?
Damon: It's more complicated than that. You would have to feed on my blood, then die, then feed on a human, it's an entire ordeal. This book, by the way, is all wrong].
"Unfortunately. It would be nice if vampires were given special gifts like the future, to influence people's emotions, to emit electric waves all over their bodies, to create illusions. It would be a lot of fun. " Said MG excitedly making the vampires in the room agree.
"Well, you could do all of that if you were a symphoner or a hybrid." Hope said.
"A little unfair if you ask me." Kaleb joked making everyone laugh.
[Damon kisses Caroline on the neck].
"Disgusting," Lizzie murmured with a disgusted grimace.
[Caroline: You can be very sweet when you want.
Damon: Yes, I can be sweet.
Caroline: Are you going to kill me?]
Damon: Mm-hmm. But not yet.
Caroline: Why not?
Damon: Because there is something I need you to do for me.
Caroline: Anything.
Damon: Are you really good at putting that little nose where it doesn't belong?
Caroline: Oh, I'm great.
Damon: Mmm.
-MYSTIC GRILL
[Tyler is eating with his parents.]
Tyler cringed at the sight of his parents, it had been a long time since they died and still hurt like hell.
[Mr. Lockwood: So what about the season? A big loss? Are they looking for a new coach?
Tyler: I don't know, dad. I doubt anyone is thinking about it right now.
Mrs. Lockwood: Charles, Founder's Party, focus.
Vicki: How are you guys here?
Mr. Lockwood: Ah, we're doing great, dear.
Vicki: Can I get you anything else?
Tyler: We are fine, thanks.
Mr. Lockwood: Just the bill, dear.
Vicki: Here you are, Mayor Lockwood.
Mr. Lockwood: Thank you.
[Caroline arrives with Bonnie.]
Bonnie: Are you taking Damon to the founder's party? About me?]
"I should have known better, you always said that you liked those parties and that you go and accompanied on top of it was a great indicator that something was happening." Said Bonnie.
"Don't blame yourself Bon-Bon, there was no way you could know." Caroline said shaking the brunette's hand.
[Caroline: Go with Elena.
Bonnie: She's asking Stefan.
Caroline: Okay, go alone.
Bonnie: Gee, thanks. What about your mother? Is she okay with you bringing Damon?]
Damon smiled a little as he remembered his friendship with Liz, she was a good friend to him, and he missed her very much.
[Caroline: And I should care why?
Bonnie: He's the oldest sexy guy in danger.
Caroline: Sexiest older danger guy? Is that an official witch tweet on Twitter?
Bonnie: Enough with the witch jokes, okay? The whole Mr. Tanner prediction thing freaked me out.
Caroline: Okay. And Damon is not dangerous. You know, he has a lot of issues with his brother. You know, like a big deep-rooted drama.
Bonnie: Like...?
Caroline: I really shouldn't say anything.
Bonnie: Caroline Forbes, when have you ever kept a secret in your life?]
"Honestly, I think after mom turned vampire she learned to keep secrets very well." Said Josie with a bit of bitterness in her voice, she wouldn't admit it out loud but she was still a bit upset with her parents for hiding the truth about her and Lizzie's merger.
Caroline noticed the tone in Josie's voice and wondered what her future self had hidden from her daughter to make her upset.
[Caroline: Okay. But you can't tell Elena.
Bonnie: No.
Tyler: So, what are you going to buy me?
Vicki: Ugh, some class. Oh, your parents are gone. I think we might be close now.
Tyler: What the hell does that mean?
Vicki: You treat me like crap. I'm tired of it.
Tyler: I don't think you're garbage.
Vicki: Really? So who are you taking to the founder's party?
Tyler: Vicki Donovan. Do you want me to invite you to the founder's party?
Vicki: No. It's going to be stupid and silly.
Tyler: True. But it would be less stupid and idiotic if you were there.
(Tyler leaves.)]
"Seriously man, you're an idiot. You realize that the impression you give anyone about this is that you only invited her because she talked." Hope said with a scowl, this moment between Vicki and Tyler reminded her of when Lizzie asked Rafael to be her date on her birthday and he ditched her in the middle of their dance.
"And what would you know, you're a Mikaelson, the only feeling you have is a pleasure when it comes to destroying someone's life." Growled Tyler through clenched teeth and yellow eyes.
Klaus jumped out of his chair about to attack Lockwood being stopped by Rebekah and Elijah.
"Let me go, I will kill you for talking to my daughter like that."
"Brother now is not the time for that, if you tie him up now you will only give that woodsman reason. " Elijah said in a low, calm voice.
"Are you just going to let him talk to Hope like that?" Printed Klaus with a growl, his yellow eyes seeming to glow even brighter as his anger increased.
"No brother, more now is not the time, we have to keep watching this episode, when this is all over you can do whatever you want with the idiot dog. " Rebekah said seriously.
"Daddy." Said Hope making the three Mikaelsons look at her. "Leave him alone, he's not worth it, I'm hardly offended, he doesn't know our family as well as he thinks. Besides, unlike him, I can make a relationship last."
The students at the Salvatore school tried very hard not to laugh gives Hope's barb thrown in the last comment.
"Fine" Klaus said between his teeth. "Wait for me doggie, what's yours is in store."
Tyler just rolled his eyes in derision.
Once everyone had calmed down they went back to watching.
[Jeremy: You realize you had to ask him to ask you, right? Do you think if you dress like a respectable young woman, he will finally treat you like one?
Vicki: Fuck you, Jeremy.
Jeremy: You know you're making the wrong choice, but you still make it. It's sad].
Jeremy grimaced, he acted like a jerk to Vicki that day, he was angry and took it out on her.
[-SALVATORE'S PENSION
Zach: I didn't know you were here.
Damon: I'm just checking Stefan's homework. Boy, this country sure has gone mute in the last hundred years. Why he wants to go to high school is beyond me. I mean, in the 70s, he went to the Ivy League. Harvard, I get it. Actually, no. I didn't get that either. Go ahead, purge. Take it out. What's on your mind?
Zach: Why are you here, Damon?
Damon: To spend some time with you, Zach. Family is important.
Zach: I know you. You always have a reason. So tell me, what is it this time?
Damon stands up and grabs Zach by the throat.
Damon: You are in no position to question me.
Zach: I didn't mean to upset you.
Damon: This isn't upsetting, Zach.
Stefan: What's going on?
[Damon drops Zach].
Damon: Having a family moment, Stefan. Spending some quality time.
Stefan: Hey, are you okay?
Zach: No, I'm not. And you're not either. How many more people have to die before you see this?]
Stefan cringed that too many people died for him to finally give up on his brother.
[Stefan: I see that. All right, Zach, I see it.
Zach: Then why aren't you doing anything about it?
Stefan: I can't, Zach. I can't. It would take human blood. That's the only way I could stop it and I can't do that.
Zach: The vervain could weaken him if he ingested it. That would help him get the upper hand.
Stefan: Verbena hasn't grown here since 1865. Damon took care of it. What little I had, I gave to Elena. Stefan: What?
(Stefan and Zach go down into the cellar)]
"Jesus, that's a lot of vervains. " Barry said with wide eyes.
"If you think there's too much there, you should see the greenhouse at school." Said Penelope making MG, Kaleb, James, and Barry look at her slack-jawed.
"You know now that you mention Pen, have any of you ever been into the greenhouses?" MG asked the boys.
All the boys looked at each other in shock as they realized that none of them had ever entered the greenhouses at school.
Penelope, Alyssa, Josie, Lizzie, and Hope started laughing at the boys' reaction.
"Why haven't any of us ever gone into the greenhouses?" Landon asked after recovering from his shock.
"Simple Hobbit, you can't. " Lizzie said laughing.
"The school has two greenhouses, one is where they use to grow some of the food we eat, you can go in there anytime you want, why you idiots haven't gone in there I don't know. " Alyssa said.
"The other greenhouse is for witches and wizards only, werewolves and vampires can't go in there, it's like a sanctuary for us witches. " Hope said.
"The things we plant in that greenhouse are legendary. " Josie said.
"That's right, carnivorous plants with consciousness, potions of all kinds, marijuana." Said Penelope smiling mischievously.
"You guys grow marijuana on the school grounds? How come Dr, Saltzman didn't find out about that?" MG asked slack-jawed.
"And how come we don't get some of that weed?" Jed asked.
"The parties at the old mill would be even cooler if we knew about it." Said, James.
"Well, Emma found out about the marijuana in the greenhouse and told Dr. Saltzman, all the older witches were grounded." Said Hope
"The ones who really took the brunt of it were me and Josie, for being part of the mess." Said Lizzie.
"Dad and Mom fought with us and grounded us for two months." Said Josie shuddering as she remembered.
The teens were so caught up in their conversation that they didn't notice the adults in the room looking at them in confusion.
"I don't mean to interrupt but I will, what are you kids talking about? What is this school that you talk so much about? And what does this have to do with Alaric and Caroline?" Stefan asked.
All the Salvatore students looked at each other as if they were questioning whether or not to speak up. They all shrugged as if to say it was okay to talk.
"Well..." Lizzie began.
"Well..." Lizzie began. "We're talking about the Salvatore Boarding School for the young and gifted."
"Salvatore Boarding School?" Stefan and Damon asked at the same time.
"Yes mom and dad opened a school for supernatural kids, they wanted a place where kids could feel safe and be themselves and be able to learn to control powers at the same time." Josie said.
"Let's be honest here, your parents built this school for both of you." Said Penelope rolling her eyes.
"Well, we were just the inspiration, after all, it's not every day that two 4-year-olds get kicked out of school for starting a fire." Lizzie said.
"You were expelled for starting a fire?" asked Alaric shocked, he was beginning to realize that he would have a lot of trouble with two witch daughters.
"Yes, we had a habit of accidentally setting things on fire." Josie said.
"But why did they name the school after us?" Stefan asked with a frown of confusion.
"Because of you. They wanted to honor you, so they used your last name as the name of the school. They also named the library after you." Josie said.
"Why did they want to honor Stefan?" Elena asked worriedly.
The twins cackled before answering.
"You'll figure it out." Josie said exultantly.
Stefan frowned at the girls, but decided not to ask, he had a suspicion of what might have happened. The younger Salvatore snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a squeeze on his hand, Caroline was looking at him with a worried look, which he responded by giving her a kiss on her hand.
Lizzie huffed before she began to speak again.
"When mom and dad started school, for the first two years Aunt Bonnie, Aunt Vallerie, Uncle Damon, and Uncle Jeremy helped, they still do in fact." Said the younger blonde.
"What do we do?" Asked Bonnie interested, she had thought it was an incredible idea for Alaric and Caroline to start a school for the supernatural.
"Uncle Damon donated the old Salvatore boarding house so that the school could be opened, and since he was still trying to figure out what to do with himself since he was human again, he worked as a history teacher for the first two years. Then the Grill went on sale and he bought it." Lizzie said.
"Aunt Bonnie was a spelling teacher, plus then she started helping Mom with recruiting students around the world and trying to find a cure for fusion." Josie said.
Caroline and Alaric looked at each other the moment the word fusion was mentioned, they decided to ask the girls about it as soon as they took a break.
"Uncle Jeremy was a self-defense teacher and helped new students with power control." Josie continued.
"Aunt Valorie was in charge of helping vampires and she was also our potions teacher." Said Lizzie "She also helped Josie and I control our powers, but then she decided to help with recruiting students and teachers, she lives traveling the world chasing new students. Now we only see her during holidays or by Skype."
Valorie looked thoughtfully at the girls in front of her, if she was being honest with herself, being a teacher of children who were born like her, supernatural, was not a bad idea. She might be a vampire now, but she remembers the time when she was just a witch, she remembers how scary it was not to be able to control herself. She, Nora, and Mary Louise were lucky because they were born at the convention with other witches. But what about the children who weren't as lucky, novice witches who didn't know why they had those powers, wolves activating their curse and not having a pack to fall back on, and teenagers becoming vampires before they even reach fifteen.
"So, in this school do they teach only supernatural subjects, or do they teach normal subjects as well?" Freya asked.
"They teach everything, the students are usually separated only in the supernatural classes, witches with magic, the vampires and the werewolves learning about their history and about control, they usually come together in the supernatural history classes. But usually, the normal subjects like math and geography are all mixed together like in a normal school." Answered Hope.
"Did you guys say before that the school was a boarding school?" Klaus asked, he was very interested in the subject, with all the problems they had in New Orleans sending Hope to a boarding school with people they knew and trusted didn't seem like a bad idea.
"Yes, we spend a good part of the year at school, we go out during the holidays to visit our families." Hope said.
"Do you guys like going to this school?" Hayley asked.
She wanted to know what her daughter thought about being sent to a school in another state.
"We do everything, we can use our powers, we can socialize with others like us, and still act like normal teenagers." Hope said.
"It's a safe place, it's the closest thing some of us have to a home." Murmured MG sheepishly.
Kaleb, seeing how his friend looked, gave his shoulder a squeeze. He was lucky that his family accepted him even though he was a vampire, MG, Rafael, and Landon was not so lucky. James, Barry, and Alyssa didn't even have a family anymore. Hope, Lizzie, and Josie had a fucked up life story before they were even born. Penelope and Jed were lucky because they were cousins and they had their clans outside of school.
"Some of us have been at the school since we were little, Lizzie and Josie since the school was founded, I joined when I was seven, Alyssa when I was six, Penelope and Jed when I was ten, Kaleb and MG arrived a month after I was turned, Barry and James arrived around the same time as them, Landon and Rafael started school here about two years ago." Hope said.
"They have kindergarten too?" Rebekah asked impressed.
"Yes, and a daycare center. We have some children who will be orphaned very early, so we have an education and adoption program. Some parents of students adopt some children for their clans or packs, or simply because they want to give a family to the respective child." Josie said.
"That's amazing." Said Elena amazed at what her best friend and adoptive father will be able to accomplish.
"Mom and Dad love this school, add Dad's knowledge of education and Mom's obsession with organization and control and that's what we have." Joked Lizzie making the whole room laugh.
Caroline and Alaric sat quietly throughout the discussion thinking about what their future selves had built, they realized that they could do more than they planned before and after finding out about Caroline's pregnancy.
Alaric for being able to give his daughters a safe place where they could learn more about being witches and give herself the chance to be more than a college professor.
And Caroline because she wasn't sure what she wanted to do with her life after she turned into a vampire, she could do whatever she wanted, she could be a journalist now and a doctor in the next century, she had eternity to do whatever she wanted. Then finding out that she was pregnant gave her a new perception about things, she put all her energy into the pregnancy and trying to figure out how to be a good mother. She realized that neither she nor Alaric had remembered that the chance of their daughters being born supernatural was very high, after all, how do a vampire mother and a human father raise their witch daughters. Now she had discovered the answer to that question and to many others she had.
"All right, now that the questions have been answered can we go back to watching?" Hope asked.
Everyone in the room nodded in agreement.
[Stefan: You're growing it.
Zach: It's just something that's been passed down from generation to generation. Blood only runs so deep when you're related to vampires. Damon would kill me if he knew I had it.
Stefan: But you're telling me. Zach: Why?
Zach: Because I trust you. And you're going to need it if you want to get rid of him].
"He's going to need a lot more than a little vervain to get rid of me," Damon said, rolling his eyes.
Stefan agreed, Zach underestimated Damon, he would need a lot more than a little vervain to get rid of his brother.
[- GILBERT RESIDENCE
(The doorbell rings. Jeremy answers. He sees that it is Tyler and tries to close the door, but Tyler holds it open).
Tyler: I'm here for my mom. I'm supposed to pick up a box of stuff.
Elena: Right here. Please be careful.
Jeremy: Yeah, be careful with that, you idiot.
