Dr. Halstead's heart had stopped, but luckily Connor Rhodrs wasn't the type to give up easily especially when it came to people he cared about.
Immediately he took the plates and directly stimulated the heart and then he finished his surgery managing to remove bullets and various fragments.
After closing it he took him to intensive care. Now it was only necessary to wait.
Everything was fine. The surgery was successful, but no one could know if he would fully recover.
After setting him up in a room and giving himself a quick clean up Connor went to find Natalie who was still stunned by what had happened.
- Natalie, Dr. Charles - he greeted
- How's Will? - the doctor asked directly
- The surgery went well. It was difficult and delicate to remove both bullets. Now it depends on him. The prognosis is good, he should make a full recovery. But it depends on how stressed his body is. Unfortunately he is not out of danger yet, but I am very confident.- Rhodes informed them.
Once again the only thing to do was to wait.
Having said this, the doctor took his leave, greeting the two.
His shift had been over for hours now, but he was still there and didn't want to leave. He hadn't felt tired at all, at least not until now.
But it was after saying goodbye to Dr. Manning and Dr. Charles that he collapsed. The adrenaline was gone now.
It was still as if he had on her hands, even though he had washed them, the blood of his dear friend.
All of a sudden he felt dizzy. He had stood motionless in front of the door to the doctor's room. He was standing there, very pale in the face. He stared at his hands, his legs were shaking and in no time he was on his knees on the ground.
Meggie immediately, along with April, she approached worried, placing herself near the doctor to understand if he needed something or if he was sick.
