Late in the morning around ten, Rhodes, who was doing his rounds, arrived at Will's room.

After seeing him he thought he looked better than when he took him to the operating room.

- Good morning Will. Sleepy wake up. - He told him, he saw him a little dozed off.

Halstead slowly opened his eyes, the lids were really heavy to lift.

- How you feel today? - he asked starting to do the various routine checks.

-:I'm fine,- replied the patient doctor, though he was a little tired.

- Are you sure? What's wrong? - Rhodes asked who obviously had sensed that something was wrong.

- I'm so tired Connor- he answered him

- It's normal, you have to give your body time to recover and you are also under the influence of heavy painkillers that make you sleepy - explained the doctor.

Will accepted the explanation, it was certainly normal to feel that way. But according to him there was something strange.

- All values appear to be normal. The only thing that worries me is that you are out of breath at rest. It could have been due to the saturation which has not yet reached acceptable levels. Later I will have you do an ultrasound to check the condition of your lungs and then a control scan. With both we can also verify that there are no fragments left or that there are no secondary problems. -

Will listened to his friend Connor and gave him a nod, agreeing with what the latter had said. A few moments later his eyes closed again and he sank into the world of dreams.

Rhodes stayed a few moments longer to check on him. The sound of his breathing had caught his attention. Something was wrong, but obviously he had avoided telling Will to keep him from getting upset.

Connor then took his tablet and began to mark the exams he wanted him to take.

The ultrasound could be done almost immediately, unfortunately there was to wait a while for the CT scan despite his request having priority.

Once finished he left the room leaving the doctor to rest.

- Meggie, - Connor called.

- Yes doctor? - replied the nurse standing near the desk

- Watch Will please. - asked the doctor

- Something wrong? -she asked

- I don't know, I want to do some more thorough checks. I scored some exams for him, but we have to wait. Furthermore, the saturation levels are still a bit low. - he explained

- Ok, I'll keep it under control .- replied the nurse.

So then Rhodes resumed his tour by going to check on his patients.

Two hours later Meggie, as she had done so many times since she had been asked to do, had gone to check on Will. Unlike the other times in this case the doctor was complaining, as if he were in the throes of a nightmare. It was around 1pm.

He was panting and sweating. The machines he was tied to had begun to ring.

- Will! hey Will! it's me, Meggie. What happens?

- Help - he said crying - it hurts, I can't breathe.

Immediately the nurse called Rhodes and he arrived right away. The doctor decided to make him wear the oxygen mask instead of the cannula to allow him to have more and then after having an ultrasound, which fortunately proved that everything was fine, he increased the painkillers.

Then slowly the doctor calmed down and, also thanks to the effect of the drugs, he went back to sleep.
