I figured that we need some chapters where Perry falls in love with the female district attorney he's fighting against almost all the time in court and it's pretty evident that she's fallen for him too.
It was like an electric shock when Perry laid eyes on Aurora Kennedy for the first time. When Bekah and Finian saw Aurora and Perry look at each other they smiled knowingly, it was that way when they first met.
"So, Perry. When are you going to ask her out?" Bekah asked nonchalantly, knowing that her oldest son was head over heels in love with Aurora as Perry blushed,
"Mama!" Finian laughed,
"It's OK, son. It was the same way when your Mama and I met." Bekah smiled,
"You're 25. You deserve to have someone in your life to love like your Daddy and I love each other." Perry nodded,
"I'll ask her out tomorrow, as tomorrow's the last day of our current trial which I think she might win this time. It's not looking good for the O'Reilly firm." His parents nodded.
The next day, Perry's prediction didn't actually happen. He won the case!
"Good work, Perry." Aurora congratulated him as he smiled and took a deep breath, gathering some courage.
"Thanks, Aurora. I was wondering if you would like to join me for dinner tonight. As a consolation prize for losing yet another case against me?" Aurora looked to him and laughed softly with a nod,
"I was wondering when you would finally ask me. I'd love to." Perry smiled,
"I'll pick you up at your place around 7 or so?" Aurora nodded as she placed a kiss on his cheek as Perry blushed as he rubbed his fingers where Aurora kissed his cheek with a smile.
Perry seemed like he was walking on air as he walked back into the office as Bekah and Finian looked to him,
"So? What'd she say?" Bekah pressed as Perry beamed,
"She said 'yes' and I'm picking her up at her apartment around 7. Oh, and I won the case." Bekah and Finian hugged him tightly,
"Good work, and go home and get ready." When Perry walked through the door and made a beeline for his room,
"So, how'd it go?" Ken asked as Perry still had that silly grin plastered on his face,
"I won, and I need to get ready for tonight. I'm taking Aurora Kennedy out to dinner." Ken beamed and hugged his nephew,
"I figured one of these days you'd gather the courage to ask her out. She's a good egg, trust me." Holly happened to bump into him,
"Hey, Perry could you – ?" Perry shook his head,
"Sorry, I'm a little busy right now." Holly looked to Ken as she connected the dots,
"You asked her out and she said 'yes!' Oh, good luck tonight Perry!" Perry smiled and hugged his baby sister.
"Thanks, Holly." Perry said with a smile after kissing her cheek as Holly giggled.
Once Perry knocked on Aurora's door and she opened it, his breath caught in his throat. Her red hair was in the most pristine up – do, her face done up beautifully, her dress hugging her in all the right places. Oh, if Perry didn't realize that he was in love with her, this image in front of him made it all the clearer for him.
"Shall we?" He asked and extended his hand for Aurora to take as she nodded,
"We shall."
The night went swimmingly, pleasant conversations over dinner, dancing on the beach and when it came time to take Aurora home,
"Would you like to come in for a nightcap?" Aurora asked as Perry shook his head,
"No, I'd love to but I worry that we'll end up doing something we'll end up regretting tomorrow morning." Aurora nodded as she kissed his cheek before Perry placed an ever – so – gentle kiss on her lips before leaving.
Aurora blushed as she ran her hand over her lips as she giggled softly before getting ready for bed as Perry smiled gently as he drove home to only have dreams that were beyond pleasant.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter that I had SO much fun writing.
