This is where Perry almost "forces" Aurora to take him to Utah to meet her family, but when a family emergency comes up… Aurora ends up taking Perry with her to Utah when her Grandma Louise passes on.
"Why don't you head up to Utah for a long weekend to see your family again? I know it's been 3 years but maybe things have changed and they'll accept you back into the family when they see you with me." Perry suggested as they were sitting in her apartment as Aurora looked to him with a look of terror on her face.
"Perry, I – I can't! You don't understand! When they kicked me out, they told me to stay away forever!" Aurora said after a few moments as Perry spoke again as he tried to keep his emotions in check,
"Aurora, you know that you can't stay away forever. I love you so much, and I want you and your family to be together again." Aurora looked to him and began to cry seeing the look of love in his eyes as Perry hugged her close as she spoke.
"I love you, too. I want to see them but I don't want to cause any drama by…" The phone began to ring interrupting her thought train as she picked up,
"Hello?" It was her Aunt Mina,
"Hey, Aurora. Your father advised against me calling you to tell you this." Aurora began to panic,
"Aunt Mina. What is it?" Mina sighed deeply,
"Grandma Louise died last night, honey. You need to come home." Aurora sat down as her body began to shake as she nodded,
"Aunt Mina… Uhm… I'm bringing my boyfriend Perry with me. He was just suggesting that I come back for a long weekend. I'll be there in a few days. Don't tell Mom or Daddy that I'm coming." Mina nodded,
"See you soon, Aurora. I love you, no matter what had happened in the past." Aurora nodded and hung up when the tears came as her body shook as she sobbed.
Perry watched Aurora for a few moments before moving to hold her close, wanting at that moment to take away her pain.
"Let it out, Aurora. Just let it out." Perry said gently as Aurora cried even harder.
"Bekah, here. Hi, sweetheart. What's up?" Bekah answered as Perry called her as he spoke,
"I'm staying over at Aurora's. Her Grandma Louise just died and I need to be there for Aurora." Bekah sighed deeply as she nodded,
"See you in a few days, Perry. Stay as long as you need to." Perry nodded and spoke,
"See you in a few days, Mama. And thank you." Bekah nodded,
"I love you so much my darling Perry. I hope you know that." Perry smiled,
"I love you so much as well Mama. I hope you know that, too." Bekah laughed softly,
"Bye, sweetheart. I'll see you in a few days." Perry chuckled,
"Bye, Mama." They hung up as Aurora stepped into the living room, fresh out of the shower as Perry got up and fixed a nice filling dinner for them.
That night was spent on the couch, Perry holding Aurora close and murmuring comforting words as she cried softly.
When Aurora woke up the next morning, she was a little disoriented but relaxed when she saw that she was in Perry's arms.
"Morning, Aurora. Sleep well?" Perry asked as he let her go as she sat up and shook her head,
"No…" Perry sighed as he leaned in for the gentlest kiss as Aurora returned it, the kiss exploded as Aurora moaned into his mouth as the kiss continued to deepen.
A few hours later,
They lied on her bed; legs entwined but completely sated as Aurora slept peacefully as Perry stared up at the ceiling not regretting what had just happened.
"Mmm…" Aurora moaned as she woke up and smiled seeing that she was in Perry's arms as Perry smiled,
"Hi, love." Perry smiled and kissed her gently as Aurora smiled.
"Hi." Perry smiled as he asked his next question gently,
"You feeling better?" Aurora nodded gently,
"A little."
They sat there and talked for a few hours before Perry quickly went back to the beach house to pack for 2 weeks in Utah as Aurora packed for the same amount of time.
"How about I drive for the first few hours, so you can sleep?" Perry suggested as they got ready to take the almost 10 hour drive to Salt Lake City as Aurora nodded,
"Sure, thanks Perry." They shared a kiss before they got in the car and went on their way. Perry did end up driving the entire way and Aurora helped him with directions once they got to Salt Lake City and when they walked up to her doorstep and she rung the doorbell,
"Aurora, you shouldn't be here." Her mother, Jaclyn, commented as Aurora sighed,
"Aunt Mina called me about Grandma Louise. I had to come Mom. And besides, *she motioned for Perry to walk up from behind her* this is Perry O'Reilly. My boyfriend." Jaclyn gasped and motioned them into the house as she hugged Aurora.
"I've missed you. I wanted to call you but your Dad wouldn't let me." Aurora looked to her,
"I've missed you, too Mom. I wanted to call as well but I knew that Daddy would be watching the phone like a hawk and wouldn't pick up if I called." Jaclyn looked at Perry and hugged him,
"Thank you for bringing her back." Perry nodded as they sat on the couch after Perry placed his stuff in the guest room and Aurora placed her things in her childhood room.
"It was nothing, I didn't want her to do this alone." Aurora looked to her mother as she asked,
"Where's Daddy?" Jaclyn sighed,
"At the funeral home. He'll be home in a few hours." Aurora and Perry nodded as Perry sighed,
"Is there anything that I can do for either of you at the moment?" Aurora and Jaclyn shook their heads,
"No, not really but thank you." Aurora said as they kissed before Perry went to unpack as Jaclyn smiled conspiratorially at her daughter as Aurora blushed,
"You love him, don't you?" Aurora laughed as the blush on her cheeks deepened,
"It's that obvious, huh?" Jaclyn smiled,
"Yeah, it kinda is but I'm happy that you've found love." Aurora smiled and went to go unpack and right when she started,
"Jackie! I'm home." She froze when she heard Fred, her Daddy's, voice as Jaclyn walked up to him and took him to his den,
"Fred… Aurora's home for Louise's funeral." Fred's eyes flashed in anger,
"I thought I told her to stay away." Jaclyn nodded,
"You did but she came anyways with her boyfriend, Perry O'Reilly. He's super sweet and she loves him so much. She needs you Fred. Please put your differences aside to be there for your daughter." Fred sighed,
"Mina called her about Louise, don't be mad at your sister either." Fred sighed as he looked up seeing Aurora in the doorway as he opened his arms for his daughter as Perry was watching too.
"I love you, Aurora. I'm sorry about my behavior when you left." Aurora's body was shaking as she cried before moving to hug her father,
"I love you, too Daddy." Perry walked in as Fred looked up and shook his hand,
"Thank you for bringing my baby girl home." Perry nodded,
"You're welcome, Mr. Kennedy." Fred smiled,
"Call me 'Fred', Perry." Everyone smiled sadly as the family began to reunite and be more at ease.
The funeral was a sad time but there was a huge silver lining in that Perry did help the family reunite and helped the wounded family heal by bringing Aurora home.
Once it was time for Perry and Aurora to go back to LA,
"Call us when you get back, OK?" Fred asked Aurora as she nodded giving her father the brightest smile that Fred had ever seen his daughter give him.
"I promise Daddy. Thank you for loving me after all this time." Fred nodded and looked to Perry,
"Welcome to the family, son." Perry blushed and hugged Jaclyn and Fred,
"Thank you." Aurora smiled as she hugged her mother tightly as Jaclyn spoke up,
"We're so proud of you Aurora and we love you so much." Aurora nodded,
"I love you both. I promise to come back in a few months." As Perry and Aurora got into the car, they waved to Aurora's parents with a smile.
"I told you this would happen." Perry said with a gentle smile as Aurora kissed him softly before they drove away.
"Thank you, Perry."
