This is it! Perry finally gathers enough courage to propose to Aurora.
It had been a particularly hard case for both Aurora and Perry. It was clearly evident on their dates after each court session.
Perry had thought a lot about what his father had told him. He loved Aurora with all his heart and Aurora loved him with all her heart.
He had bought the ring while they were in Utah but wanted to wait until the right moment, and as their recent case showed him that right moment was coming much quicker than he anticipated.
"Is everything alright, Perry?" Ken asked as Perry seemed distant one day they had off from court Perry looked to him and sighed,
"I think I'm going to propose to Aurora once we're done with this case. This case has beat us down. I don't understand how Mama and Dad handle these types of cases." It was a murder staged as a suicide case.
"One day at a time, Perry. I know this has been hard on you specifically. But it'll be over soon." Ken replied with a sigh as Perry nodded as he went to go look at the beautiful ring that he was going to give Aurora.
"It's beautiful, son." Bekah said as he showed it to her as Perry smiled softly,
"Thanks, Mama." Bekah sighed softly as Perry asked,
"How do you handle the type of cases that we're working on, the murder staged as suicide?" Bekah smiled,
"Dad and I try to be compassionate towards the client, and we try our best to clear their name without letting our emotions get in the way." Perry nodded as he sighed,
"It's been hard on both of us. I'm going to propose once the case is over which from how things have been going… it should take no more than two more days." Bekah nodded and hugged her son.
"If you need to talk some more, just know that Dad and I are here to listen."
"Aurora…" Perry started when they were walking along the beach that next night, he couldn't wait. Aurora looked to him as she gasped and began to cry seeing Perry go down on one knee, pulling out the ring box,
"P… Perry?" She whimpered as her crying made it hard for her to speak right as Perry continued,
"From the moment I laid eyes on you, it was like an electric shock. I knew then that I had fallen in love with you, and that I had fallen pretty hard. I know that we've had some hard patches recently and I want you to know that it only made my love for you even stronger. Will you marry me?" Perry asked as he opened the ring box to show the ring as Aurora nodded,
"Yes." Perry smiled and placed the ring on her left ring finger before they kissed passionately as Aurora and Perry laughed softly once they broke the kiss.
"I love you." They both said to each other at the same time with bright smiles.
When they walked into the beach house,
"We're home!" Perry called as everyone rushed to the kitchen and laughed happily when Aurora proudly displayed her engagement ring.
"Congrats, you two!" Ken laughed and hugged Perry and Aurora as congratulatory smiles and hugs were exchanged as Bekah noticed a new lightness to her son and future daughter – in – law. That the recent engagement had helped distract them a little from their work.
I hope y'all enjoy this.
