Not dead I promise wanted to give you an update today so here it is I guess:)

Chapter 7

Meredith's statement had the effect of a bombshell on Addison. How could she do that ? She told her just two nights ago how terrified she was of Derek's reaction and Meredith is telling her that like it's nothing.

''He asked about me not working this morning in the elevator so I just told him I had to take the day off with my girlfriend since he's been such an ass to you that you're now sick '' Says Meredith.

Not only she told him without my permission but she also made me look vulnerable in front of him. Damn it just gets better and better ! Not only that what is it with the ''I had to take the day off'' am I a burden or what ?! Thinks Addison.

Seeing that Addison wasn't answering Meredith asked : ''Baby is it okay ?''

''Fine ! I'm heading upstairs to sleep I'm tired'' Addison aswered while getting up from the couch she felt dizzy but still managed to stay still on her feet.

''You just spent the whole afternoon sleeping !''

''I'm sick Meredith I need to sleep'' She responded abruptly before heading upstairs leaving Meredith alone with her thoughts.

Why is she acting so harsh ? Maybe I should go and join her ? After a moment of hesitation Meredith just decided to leave it she would come around when she will get better, hopefully she will be less grumpy.

She's been watching TV for a good few hours, it was now dark outside and Addison was still upstairs. Meredith considered going to bed but she wasn't so tired since she spent a good part of the afternoon napping, instead she was left alone with her thoughts until Izzie stepped in :

''Hey Mer you aren't with Addison ?''

''No she's sleeping upstairs I'm not so tired''

''Mer I don't think she's still asleep I just passed in front of the room and I heard sniffles and maybe sobs... Did something happened ?''

''I don't know I told her I told Derek and she got upset''

''Why did you tell him ?''

''I wasn't intending to it just came out like ''Dr Grey you aren't working today ? '' she sayed trying to imitate Derek ''No I had to take the day off since you've been such an ass to my girlfriend that she's now sick !''

''That's what you told Addison ?''

''Yeah why ?'' Meredith was starting to get annoyed.

''I don't know... To me your reaction looks very sweet but also I understand why she could be pissed''

Finally realization hit Meredith ''Damn how could I be so stupid''

''You aren't stupid just a bit clumsy''

''I should go and apologize''

''Yeah Mer go''

With that Meredith was heading upstairs to the bedroom, even outside the door she could hear some faint sobs and muffling sounds. It just broke her heart.

She slowly opened the door and tiptoed into the room only to see a crying Addison bundled up under the covers. She slowly aproached and settled herself on the other side of the bed. Addison wasn't acknowledging her presence so she scooted closer to the red head and started replacing strands of her hair behind her ear. Slowly she stared whispering :

''Addie I'm so sorry. At first I didn't understand why you were so mad but I talked with Izzie she said she heard you crying and it broke my heart and I realized my mistake. Addie are you listening to me ?''

A faint voice aswered ''I am''

''Okay'' Meredith said softly ''I know you may feel betrayed but I only had the purest intentions. I was so mad against him for the way he treated you and it just came out like that. Let me tell you he was stunned, first, I'm sorry I told him without asking you and second I know how proud you are and you hate being vulnerable so I shouldn't have told him you were sick. I'm so so so sorry baby I didn't want to hurt you I swear'' Meredith is now on the verge of tears.

''Am I a burden ?'' A small voice finally asked

Meredith's heart was shattering at her girlfriend's words. She used her thumb to wipe Addison's tears away before asking :

''Why in the world would you ever think that ?''

''You told him you ''had to take the day off since I was sick'' you didn't have to if it bothered you''

Mer's chest was aching but she slowly put a finger under Addison's chin so that she would look at her :

''Baby, don't you ever think that you're a burden to me. I was very clumsy with my words but I'm happy to be here with you, there's no place I'd rather be. Of course I hate seeing you this sick but nothing makes me happier than just spending the day taking care of my girlfriend.''

After some time Addison finally scooted closer to Meredith until she had her head on her chest. Meredith just kissed her temple and rubbed her back until Addison finally says :

''It's okay I forgive you''

''Okay'' says Meredith very soflty while pressing a kiss to Addison's hair.

A few moments after Meredith thought Addison had drifted off until she heard her red head saying :

''I'm sorry too...''

''Why on earth are you sorry ? I'm the one who messed up''

''I'm sorry I reacted that way I shouldn't have shut you off and I shouldn't have talked to you like that''

''Addie it's okay even if I didn't realize it at first you had every right to be mad''

''Still I'm sorry'' Said Addison while yawning.

''I know you are and I know you need to sleep because something tells me you didn't get a lot of that earlier''

''Stay ?''

''I'll hold you until you fall asleep and then I'll go brush my teeth and put on some pajamas until I join you back to bed for a good night of sleep''

''Alright sounds like a plan'' Says Addison almost asleep

''Go to sleep baby I'm right here''

With that Addison was asleep and Meredith just stayed like that with her lover sleeping on her chest finally looking peaceful. She was admiring her until she saw the door opening a little :

''Is everything okay now ?'' Whispers Izzie

''Yes everything's fine'' She answers still not detaching her eyes from the sleeping beauty on her chest. Izzie just smiles at the sight.

''Are you going to sleep too ?'' She asks

''Yes I was about to get ready for bed''

''You can go I'll stay with her''

Meredith started detaching herself from Addison and Izzie sat on the other side of the bed waiting for her friend to come back. She heard a small sleepy voice asking :

''Mer ?''

''She'll be right back'' And with that Addison drifted back off until Meredith came back settling on the bed and her girlfriend immediatly curled up to her. Meredith fell asleep with a huge smile on her face despite the fight that happened earlier.
