DISCLAIMER! So, this is my first Terraria fan-fic, and although it is based on Terraria, some events will not line up with the events of the game. Because Terraria doesn't really have a proper story, I've had to use some creative license to make sure I'm not just telling what happens while you play the game. I've done my best to keep things accurate, but please keep this in mind while reading. Thank you, and enjoy the story.

Isis the Dryad sat at her table, thinking as she usually did when she was troubled. She was never close to Cole. But, as he was a Guide, she respected his wealth of knowledge. But, now that he was gone, she felt a sense of karma. Had they really done what was best? She knew the moment the Player asked her about that cursed Voodoo Doll that something was going to go wrong. She did understand the importance of defeating the Wall of Flesh. If the Moon Lord was to ever be defeated, the Spirits of Light and Dark would have to be released. And the only way to do that… was to defeat the most powerful creature in the Underworld, the King of Hell itself; The Wall of Flesh. But, in summoning the Wall, the Guide was slain in the process. Now she was pacing back and forth, from one wall to another. But, still, was this really the right path? Was the Player even surviving? As she ran through all the ways the battle could go wrong, she felt a tremor in the ground, and an ear-piercing roar shook the walls of her home. "Well, that confirms it", she thought. Suddenly, as if a tidal wave of magical energy swept her off her feet, she felt nauseous. She immediately sat back down, nearly falling over. As she felt the presence of the ancient Souls, she heard a voice, distant and echoing: "With the powers of Light and Dark no longer constrained, the Corruption spreads. And, so the balance is not lost, the Hallow joins it in the world." She felt confused. "The Hallow? Who ARE you? What do you want from me!? Speak!" But nothing else came to her. An unexpected 'thud' sound from her chest startled her. Carefully, cautiously, she slowly opened the lid. And, inside, a Voodoo Doll of every single resident of the town, like the one used to summon the Wall, was stacked neatly in the corner. And the Guide's Voodoo Doll was missing its head. The voice came back to her; "Everyone. They all have a role to play. The Guide, Cole, has played his, and his soul rests peacefully in the afterlife. Some will die. Others will survive. Everyone will perform their duty. But your calling is greater, more inexplicably dangerous than any other. If your role is unfulfilled, the last remnants of the world you call Terraria will crumble, turned into dust at the hands of Cthulhu himself. You may have defeated his Eye, but unless he is defeated in his entirety, the very foundation of life itself will remain at risk, slowly eroding until the corners of the world collapse and all you know is lost. Be careful, Isis. Your task is of the utmost importance." A small, ornate box materialized in front of her. "Inside this box, you will find the item you must use to fulfil your duty. But, if you open the box prematurely, the power of prophecy will flood the Earth, and any hope of saving Terraria will be crushed and obliterated at the hands of the Corruptor. I lack the strength to speak to you much longer. I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully, we meet again". Scared beyond belief, Isis carefully placed the box in her desk drawer. She didn't need to open it to know what was inside. "No. I will never let this come to pass."
