Chapter Thirty-Six – Steam and Bubbles

"What are you doing?" Nines asked as he entered Gavin's bathroom wearing a black bathrobe, and nothing else. Gavin was still in those new clothes, kneeling on the tiled floor with his good hand in the slowly rising water, which was letting off steam. It seemed he was finally satisfied with the temperature as he turned off the water, and turned on some strange sort of jets below the surface. The water began to shift and bubble in a way the android was sure would be pleasing to sore human muscles.

"I promised, remember? A bath. Only one's in my bathroom though." Reed said as he stood up and began removing his own clothes. "Go ahead and get in." He added as he nodded to the water. Nines was hesitant as he slipped the robe down, revealing his perfect skin and toned body. Gavin couldn't help the way his lower body reacted to that, twitching to life as his green eyes roved over the android's back. He was slim, but sculpted right down to his pert ass and muscled legs. He watched Nines fold the robe and leave it on the large sink before he walked over to the large stone steps. Cyberlife had certainly put a lot of work into musculature. His muscles shifted exactly as expected with each step.

Realising he was staring, and stopping his eyes before they zoned in on anything they really shouldn't, Reed returned to his own clothing. He was already out of his sling, much to his shoulder's objection. Putting that aside he tugged his shirt off and unwound the bandages. He looked at the angry red hole in the mirror before looking down to examine the painful red rings on his wrists. He was a little conscious of removing his pants and boxers, feeling Nines' eyes watching. He closed his eyes, nervous as he felt his length twitch at the attention.

"How is it?" Reed asked as he walked over, covering himself with one hand and hoping Nines didn't notice his half hard member. The android was sitting straight as ever in the bath, allowing the jets to push water against his back and legs. Reed joined him, opting to sit along the wall facing the stairs, while Nines sat beside them to the right.

"The temperature is satisfactory, and the jets will assist in loosening your tense muscles." The android replied, which wasn't really what Gavin had hoped for, but then he knew Nines didn't feel things the way he did. He hoped that at least his partner could appreciate the gesture. The android didn't seem so uncomfortable now that they were both submerged in the water. They washed slowly, sharing Reed's shower products. Nines seemed to like that. He wasn't sure if it was the smell or the sensation of the soap on his skin, but the android looked content as he stroked and lathered the pale surface. Gavin ducked beneath the water as he rinsed his hair, coming up to find Nines watching him intently. Nines' hair didn't really need to be washed, since it was synthetic and didn't produce oils the way Reed's did, but he still followed his human's lead. It was the first time Gavin had seen him without that curl on his forehead.

"Feeling better?" Reed asked finally, quietly enjoying the bubbles that whirled across his skin. His legs were almost floating above the jets. It hurt his shoulder a little, but in a good way. The water had stung his raw wrists to begin with, but it had dulled to a slight ache now. There was a sore patch on his head, but it was barely noticeable now unless he touched it. He could feel Nines staring at him and looked across at his predictably guilty expression. "Talk to me." Gavin murmured, tapping Nines' foot with his own.

Why aren't you angry? I just stood there and watched as you were taken away by an unknown assailant. Nines asked silently, his neck muscles looking tight as he signed, holding his hands above the water. Reed sighed quietly, wondering if there was anything he could do or say to ease his partner's guilt. It wasn't Nines' fault. He'd had no way of knowing if Chloe was serious when she'd aimed the gun at his head. Gavin wasn't even a hundred percent sure.

"Because I know you tried your best. I called and you came running. You took a fucking bullet for me Nines, and I know the only reason you didn't act was because you were worried about me. I had a gun pressed to my head, and we both know I'm not bulletproof. Any human officer would have acted the same way." Reed assured, pretty sure that Chris, Tina or even Hank would have hesitated upon seeing the android pressing a gun to his temple. At a push Hank's experience may have led to him trying something, but he couldn't know that for sure. With the RT600's reflexes he probably wouldn't have had much luck anyway.

But I'm not human! I'm the most advanced android Cyberlife ever created! If any of the other RK900s had been in my place they would have. Nines cut off as Reed's hand stopped him. He almost looked angry as he pushed Nines' hands beneath the water. The human was standing, one knee resting beside Nines' thigh as he leaned over him with one hand on the tiled step and the other still resting on Nines' hands beneath the water.

"Don't you fucking dare! Don't you ever say that! You are an RK900! You have the same software installed. You're made of the same materials. You're not inferior, and I wouldn't accept any of those assholes over you." Gavin insisted firmly, leaning in closer to make sure Nines got the message. As he leaned in closer it gave his eyes the chance to examine his partner's face from a new perspective. There was something beautifully vulnerable about Nines as he looked up, his blue eyes pinched in doubt and surprise. Gavin's eyes traced over the perfect moles and dimple in his cheek before resting on his soft looking lips.

"Why? If we are all the same, then why?" The android asked quietly, desperately needing some assurance, some form of validation. He'd never admit how much it had hurt, hearing one of his own model calling him inferior, saying he was a danger that needed to be put down. He even saw Connor as being superior in some ways due to his experience. He always felt sure that Connor would know what to do, and so far he'd been proven right. Connor always had the answers.

"Just because you were built the same doesn't mean you're the same here." Gavin replied as he raised his hand from beneath the water to rest on Nines' chest. It was above his thirium pump, the same place a human heart would be. Nines was more than advanced enough to pick up on the metaphor. He wasn't talking about the literal pump, but the symbolism attached to it. The heart was the home of emotion for humans, and they therefore transferred that onto androids as well.

"But what does that matter if I end up getting you killed?" Nines asked with a slump of his shoulders.

"Hey, you didn't get me killed…Even if you did, I wouldn't change a damn thing." Gavin replied firmly, letting his hand slip through his partner's damp hair as the android leaned forward to rest his head against his chest. "I couldn't work with people before you…We'd argue too much, or they couldn't handle my mess, or they didn't understand my reactions…They just thought I was making trouble for them, or ignoring them, or being moody…You get me, and I get you. That's why we work." He assured softly, stroking Nines' neck and back as he felt the android's hands rise to grip his hips gently. He panicked a little as those hands moved higher to slowly enclose him. He could feel his lower body reacting and rolled his eyes to the steamy ceiling. Really? Now? Fuck!

"Gavin…I…" Nines murmured against his chest, one hand remaining looped around Reed's back as the other moved higher, stroking over strong hot muscles. Nines looked up, his blue eyes almost hazy as he reached up and tangled his fingers in Reed's damp hair. The android didn't even hesitate as he rose up, pulling Reed down at the same time until their lips met. Gavin's hand tightened in Nines' hair, his mind going blank as he allowed his lips to be devoured by the machine beneath him. He hadn't really processed it yet. Nines was kissing him.

The sensation was familiar, just as real as in his dreams. Did I pass out at some point? Is this really happening? He wondered, though he knew that wasn't the case. He knew he was awake, that the hand in his hair was gripping painfully tight, and the arm around his waist was suddenly moving down to his knee. Their lips parted as Gavin gasped, gripping Nines' shoulder and hair on instinct as the android repositioned his body to straddle his strong hips. Gavin couldn't help the wave of want that crashed through him, his length twitching with interest at their new position. Oh fuck!

"Wait, Nines! Stop!" Reed ordered as the android pulled him closer, fully intending to capture his lips once more. Nines buried his face in Reed's damp shoulder at the order, wrapping his arms around his human tightly.

"No…" He mumbled breathily in Reed's ear. Gavin's body stiffened at that.

"No? What do you mean no?" The human stammered as he pushed back, forcing the android to look up at him. Nines looked slightly vulnerable as he looked down at the bubbling water, only glancing up at the human through long lashes.

"I don't want to stop." He admitted.

"What you want isn't the issue here, I just gave you an order. You're my android, and you have to do as I say." Reed insisted firmly, his heart racing as he realised what that meant. There was only one way that Nines could disregard such a clear and simple order. He gasped as those strong hands moved to grip his rump, squeezing in a way that made him push back into the touch. "Nines, stop!" He repeated.

"No…I want to interface with you." The android replied almost sweetly, feeling the human all but melt in his hands at the admission. Gavin couldn't handle that. It was the sweetest thing anyone had ever said to him. Nines didn't want to fuck him. He didn't want to show him who was in charge. He didn't want to make him scream. He didn't want to use him. He wanted to form an emotional connection. In android terms it was like saying he wanted to make love. Nines continued to squeeze and tease the plump flesh in his hands and shifted his mouth to kiss and nip every inch of chest and shoulder he could reach. But I'm the rational one here…

"Nines…We can't do this. We work together. You're an android, and as your owner I would be taking advantage." Reed objected as he pushed the android back again, the machine looking up at him almost resentfully. He'd been enjoying his explorations, mapping out Reed's damp skin with his lips, and he didn't appreciate being interrupted for something as unimportant as Reed's weak excuses. The human tried not to wriggle as Nines' hands continued to tease and mould his rump. Gavin flushed as he realised Nines was clearly an ass man.

"You won't change my mind." Nines stated simply, holding more firmly as Reed attempted to move away. "You always make excuses instead of admitting what you want." He added reproachfully, watching Reed flounder somewhat. He couldn't really say anything to that. He found Nines attractive, more than just physically. He liked his innocence. He liked the way he always looked for encouragement. He liked the way that Nines effortlessly read his mood and gave him the support he required, and he liked the way he always knew exactly what he needed. Gavin gasped as Nines slipped a finger between his cheeks and circled his rim teasingly.

"Nines…" Gavin objected weakly, not moving as the android leaned closer to nip his way along his jawline.

"I refused your order…Tell me what that means." Nines murmured as he leaned up to Reed's ear, pressing his finger against the tight hole. Gavin shifted in his lap, his body unsure whether it wanted to sink down or pull away.

"You deviated." Gavin concluded, something like relief flooding his chest as Nines nodded against his shoulder. The android hummed sweetly and nuzzled him in a way that was far too familiar. "When?" The human asked curiously, his hips grinding as a second finger began rubbing along his taint in firm strokes. If he wasn't fully hard before he was now. He could feel himself prodding his partner's pelvis each time he jerked forward. He bit his lip as he tried to think. I've got to keep a clear head here…

"It was a long term process…I think it began the night I saw you with that man…I wanted to do it. I wanted to be the one…" The android confessed, enjoying the way Gavin shivered as he nipped his lobe and teased the skin below his ear. "I think I fully deviated while planning all the ways I was going to murder your captor if you were hurt…I had programming in place that would have prevented me from killing humans." He added, feeling the brunette stiffen in his grasp. He eased himself back to look at Nines' perfectly calm expression.

"Had?" Reed checked warily.

"Had." Nines confirmed, looked up at his human with a predatory glint in his sharp blue eyes. "I had programming to keep me under control. I had programming that forced me to follow orders. I had programming that allowed humans to hurt me over and over with no way of escaping or striking back." The android purred, his words making Reed unsure whether he was having a break down or just relishing in his newfound freedom. It occurred to Reed that this was a big thing for Nines. He was free. He could do anything. He could go looking for revenge, go exploring and experience whatever new things he could find, but what he'd chosen to do was find Reed. What he wanted to do, more than anything else, was make love to Gavin.

"I'm sorry…I'm sorry they did that to you, and I'm sorry I was a part of it…ordering you around, abusing your programming..." Reed admitted, letting out a small moan as teeth bit his shoulder. It wasn't a deep bite, it wouldn't even leave a mark. Lips abused his neck and Reed tipped his head back, arching into the fingers that continued to tease his entrance. Nines kissed his way to Gavin's lips, pressing a few small pecks before drawing back. Fuck! How am I supposed to…

"You're more than I ever hoped for…" The android murmured sweetly. "You never abused me…not even once." He added assuringly, continuing his ministrations. This really isn't the time to be having this conversation. Reed thought, finding the whole situation quite bizarre. His intention had been to make Nines relax, make him feel safe and secure, to reassure him and make him feel better about himself.

"Then let's not start now." Reed said as he eased Nines back once again.

"I think you're misunderstanding which of us will be suffering in the morning." The android retorted, relishing in the shudder that ran through Gavin at the insinuation. For emphasis he pressed the human's rim until the tip of his finger slipped into his tight heat. He enjoyed exploring this new territory, enjoying the way Gavin sighed and leaned into the attention. "Gavin…Gavin…Let me have you…" Nines sighed as he kissed whatever skin he could reach, pecking along his chest and collarbone, up his neck and across his jaw. Fuck-I'm…

"Nines…" Gavin moaned, feeling the finger press a little deeper in encouragement. He gripped the android's shoulders tightly, enjoying the feel of his strong synthetic muscles as they stiffened beneath his touch. Lips continued to caress his skin, and then teeth found his nipples and he was done. How the fuck did he let Nines get so close? What happened to his rules? Why couldn't he tear himself away? Fuck. Because I don't want to. "Fuck, I'm yours." He moaned, as if it were a realisation. A part of him felt he'd belonged to the android since he'd first found him hiding under that damn table.

He had no time for further reflection, letting out an undignified yelp as he was lifted suddenly from the water and set on the edge of the tiled pit. The tall android was suddenly kneeling on the step between his spread legs. The human moaned and quivered as Nines pressed his finger deeper, right down to the knuckle. It was so tight and warm, and the human squirmed as he moved the digit. He tried rocking it slightly, slowly working up to pumping it in and out. He wasn't going to go further, knowing he'd hurt his human if he did so. That felt good. His human. He purred to himself as he leaned down to press kisses along Gavin's defined V lines below his navel.

"Say it again." He part ordered and part pleaded.

"I'm yours Nines." Gavin replied obediently, filled with a sickeningly unfamiliar warm feeling as the android looked at him like he was his whole world. He was nuzzling again, this time into one of Gavin's thighs as he rested his foot on the edge of the tiled step. "Shit!" The human cursed as Nines began kissing and nipping the tender skin, slowly working his way up to the solid length that twitched with each pump of his finger.

Nines licked the bobbing shaft, savouring the taste of Gavin's skin, even mixed with water and soap as it was. He enjoyed the louder noises Gavin was making now, his thighs trembling as he tried to hold back from thrusting up into the warm, willing mouth. Nines allowed his teeth to just tease the loose skin, moving to suckle the tip. He slowly began dipping his head on the length, sucking gently as he crooked his finger within his human. Gavin made a strangled sound as he shuddered, his hips rocking as Nines teased that spot.

"God, Nines! Nines, fuck me! Do it dry-I just..." Reed begged breathlessly, whimpering as the android abandoned his length and licked a trail up to his lips. He was silenced as his mouth was plundered, tasting salt as their tongues tangled. He jerked up, rubbing his length against his partner's pelvis as the android continued to abuse his prostate.

"Never…I'd never do that." Nines replied in a whisper, making the human whimper once more. The whimper was soon forgotten as Nines removed his finger and hefted the human into his arms, strong legs wrapping around his hips. He stood and carried Reed over to the sink, where he placed him on his feet and claimed his lips once more. As he kissed Gavin he gave himself a few tugs, enough to draw out some lubricant from his own dripping tip. "Turn around for me." He murmured as he drew back, quietly delighted as Gavin dazedly obeyed and leaned his hands on the sink.

He took his time, pressing his body up behind Gavin's to enjoy the wet slide of their warm flesh. His own length had slotted between Gavin's open thighs, allowing him to grind it along the human's perinium. Gavin rocked back, automatically leaning down a little lower against the marble counter. Nines let out a little hum of appreciation as the new angle had their members rubbing lightly. Gavin trembled as Nines' hand reached round to grip his length, gripping and pumping slowly.

"Nn! More!" Gavin moaned as he felt a slicked finger slide easily into his already loosened entrance. After a couple easier thrusts the android obligingly pressed in a second finger. Gavin kept his head lowered, eyes closed as he rocked his hips needily. Nines watched through the dripping mirror, the steam now mostly cleared from the amount of time they'd been in the slowly cooling bath. He could see the curve of Gavin's spine and the taut muscles in his shoulders, but he wanted to see more.

"Gavin…look at me." He urged in a murmured, watching the human slowly open his eyes and realise for the first time that they were right in front of the glass. He was about to lower his eyes when a third finger pressed inside. "Look at me…Look at us." Nines purred softly, nuzzling his human and feeling him tremble, his legs suddenly unsteady. He hummed and kissed Gavin's neck and shoulder, releasing his length in order to pinch and tease his hardened nubs.

"Nines please…" Gavin whined lightly, his breath hitching as the three fingers twisted in his passage.

"Please what?" Nines asked innocently, his blue eyes filled with want. He wanted those words. The words he'd heard him say on the sofa to that other human. The words he'd tried to keep from Nines. "Tell me what you want…Give me an order…" The android purred, nipping the pale skin again before soothing the area with his tongue. Gavin was watching in the mirror, his whole body weak with need.

"Fuck me, Nines. Fuck me!" Gavin relented, his green eyes glittering with desperation as he watched his partner lathering his shoulder with teeth and tongue. The android smirked, but it lasted only an instant before melting into something far more tender. It was a look Gavin had never had aimed at him before. He didn't know how to handle it. He turned his head to look at the far wall only to find long fingers on his chin urging him back, holding him in place as probing fingers left his warmth.

"I want you to watch Gavin…I want you to remember every second." Nines murmured as he nuzzled the head he held captive. Gavin couldn't speak as he met Nines' eyes, filled with uncertainty as the android's lips pressed against his temple. Nines could feel Gavin's heart fluttering in his pulse, his hand stroking his hip before urging the human into a more open poise. "Don't look away." He whispered gently as he finally lined himself up.

Gavin felt like he was under some sort of compulsion. The moment the words left Nines' lips his whole body froze. His eyes wouldn't even blink as his partner slowly pushed forward, opening him up painfully slowly. Nines sighed out a breath, his expression filled with blind adoration as he finally sank in all the way, pausing for a while to press kisses into his human's flushed skin. He examined Gavin and smiled softly, almost amused as he leaned down to the man's ear. Gavin was staring with hooded emerald eyes, lips trembling as he gripped the counter.

"Breathe Gavin." Nines urged gently, satisfied as his human finally drew in a shaking breath that made his whole body tremor. He hummed softly as he leaned closer, turning Gavin's head enough to awkwardly peck his lips. Gavin accepted the attention eagerly, chasing his lips as he drew back. "Gavin…" Nines breathed as he rocked his hips, enjoying the breathy moans and whimpers that broke free as he pressed the human lower over the sink, finding a new angle to drive himself in.

"Nines…Please Nines…" Gavin moaned softly, barely able to hold himself up as his legs trembled. He was leaning most of his weight on the sink now, his neck bent at an almost painful angle in order to watch as Nines wanted. Strong hands gripped his hips in response, louder cries breaking free as his partner snapped his hips forward. Nines looked better than Gavin had ever seen him. Hair still damp and out of place. Skin flushed a healthy pink. Eyes filled with lust and want. Mouth open a little as he huffed out breaths with each thrust.

Nines moaned as he watched Reed falling apart, unable to stand at all at this point. His green eyes were still locked on his in the mirror, his skin flushed as he gasped for breath. He almost looked like he was tearing up, knuckles white as he gripped the sink. He was the most enchanting thing Nines had ever seen, and the only thing he wanted to see right then. He scanned the human, watching his heartrate speeding up, adrenaline and endorphins pumping. This was his favourite way to see his human. He shifted one hand to rest on top of Gavin's, the synthetic skin peeling back as he attempted to interface. He could feel every pore and hair on Gavin's skin in that instant.

"Gavin!" He moaned, pulling out as he came and watching in wonder as his thick white fluid coated his human's pert rump. He turned Gavin before the human could process what was happening. He was now leaning back on the skin as Nines dropped to his knees and took his whole length down his throat, hands smearing his own seed and kneading it into Gavin's plush flesh like moisturising lotion. Gavin whimpered helplessly at the sensation, staring down at Nines with need. Nines kept his eyes open, slipping two fingers back into Gavin's warmth and crooking them.

"Nines…" Gavin warned breathlessly, his hands dropping to Nines' shoulders as his hips jerked uncontrollably. Nines opened and closed his throat, sucking greedily as Gavin spilled with a low groan. Nines guided his human down to the tiles as the strength left his legs. He held him gently as they both rested on their knees, nuzzling him as Gavin returned the embrace loosely. They didn't speak, afraid of breaking the moment. Nines could feel Gavin slowly slipping in his grasp, his muscles going lax as he closed his eyes.

"You can sleep…I'll take care of you." Nines assured gently, kissing his human's cheek softly. Gavin's arms tightened slightly in response, an acknowledgement of his words before he finally fell.
