A new Gavin Reed X RK900 crime/romance.

Shameless plug!

If you're enjoying this fic I have two others set in the DBH Universe.

Being Omega is an Omegaverse romance (Reed/RK900)

Become Human? is a Ghost Hunt X DBH crossover, which is probably the finest bit of writing I have ever done. This one is characters from the manga/anime Ghost Hunt used in a DBH setting and story, running alongside the original game's timeline.

Thanks again for reading.

Epilogue – From Your Wires to Your Core

It was three further days before he could leave the hospital. Over those days the doctors reviewed his condition with him. The heavy impacts had broken a series of ribs, some of the breaks quite close to his spine. He'd been relatively lucky. Even though his lung had been punctured the shards hadn't caused damage elsewhere, and they'd managed to patch it up. His bones had been set and the tight corset he'd been strapped in for the past week had kept them in place. He was healing as well as expected. They said a lot of other things, but the long and short of it was that so long as he got himself moving around he'd be able to leave.

Over those three days he'd been up and moving as much as possible, though each time he took a step a sharp pain lanced through his side. Breathing was getting easier. It still ached like a bitch, but he'd been taken off the liquid morphine. Unfortunately that meant he had the shakes for the next two days while trying to ignore the cravings. The pills he was given were far weaker and less addictive. He worked on a few light stretches, whimpering pathetically each time. He did his best to limit that to when he was alone though. He didn't want to think of the pinch that would mar Nines' brow if he saw him whining in agony.

The hours he spent with Nines were what he looked forward to the most. Obviously his partner worked during the day, so although he'd be there in the morning for breakfast he'd leave fairly quickly. Depending on the day he wouldn't return again until almost ten O'clock. That didn't mean Gavin was alone. Tina dropped by a few times, sometimes on lunch and sometimes after her shift finished. She tried not to be there at the same time as Nines. She thought it was better that way, so that Gavin had company for longer. Elijah would turn up most afternoons. Now what Gavin was awake and on a regular schedule he'd stopped sleeping in the cot at night. He left that exclusively to Nines now. Chloe would sometimes join him, bringing home cooked meals and cookies. Gavin swore he was going to put on a stone from all the sugar he was eating. Hank and Connor would sometimes drop in, usually with Nines. They'd stop in with the pretext of dropping Nines off and linger for a few minutes to check how he was doing. Fowler hadn't been, but he'd called the private phone to give him an earful about almost getting himself killed. As soon as he was up to it he could return for light duties. A pile of paperwork was already stacked on his desk waiting.

At the end of the three days Nines was there, having taken the day off to settle Gavin in. What Gavin didn't realise was that he wouldn't be settling into his own home. He was confused and somewhat distressed to find Nines driving away from his street, heading out of the city. He was taken to Elijah's house and carried like a bride up to their room, where he was place on the bed like a delicate princess. When he'd questioned him Nines had been ever so reasonable about it. Of course Gavin couldn't be left alone all day when he'd just gotten out of the hospital. What if he fell? Anything could happen. Nines would worry if he were alone. He didn't need to worry. Nines was checking in on Lynx regularly and keeping the house tidy. He could return once he was fully healed.

Nines took 'fully healed' to the extreme. He wouldn't let Gavin leave the house for two solid weeks, even if he did feel well enough to go into work for light duties. Whenever he brought up getting back to work his LED would spin red. It was fucking adorable. People didn't worry about Gavin Reed like that. They didn't treat him like he was fragile. Gavin's green eyes would always soften and he'd kiss the android's temple until the red was chased away, grumbling reluctant agreements about staying within Elijah's estate. He was at least allowed to walk in the gardens. Chloe even set up a garden chair and umbrella for him since it was getting quite hot. He'd spend hours lounging in that padded chair, sometimes falling asleep and being roused by the feeling of lips on his temple as Nines guided him back indoors for a late dinner.

Even after a month, when Gavin was finally allowed to return to work, Nines still wouldn't let him return to the house. Anything Gavin needed or desired was brought for him. Most of his favourite clothes now littered his brother's house, along with a few books and DVDs. Nines had even snuck his old leather jacket in, though Gavin kept it quiet that he knew. He'd caught the android once, standing by the open closet huddling the jacket against his face, his LED spinning blue. It was too fucking cute. He'd turned away and shuffled towards the bed, making enough noise for Nines to realise he was there. He'd heard the shuffle of a backpack zip and then the doors had closed.

He just didn't understand why Nines was so reluctant for him to return home. It wasn't like he'd be alone. He was now working on Nines' schedule. At the office Gavin was stuck at his desk or in Dr Sander's office, but outside the office he was always with Nines. They went to work together and went home together. Each time Gavin brought up going to the house Nines would press against his injury until Gavin winced before refusing and insisting it wasn't time yet. He was confused. Time for what? It wasn't like his house was an obstacle course. He wouldn't hurt himself just by going up and down the stairs, hell Elijah's stairs were worse.

"Nines, did you secretly burn the house down? Why can't we go home?" He demanded in exasperation. Was Nines tired of their small house? Did he actually prefer Elijah's large mansion? Sure, it was a nice place, but it was pretty impersonal. Maybe that's why he liked it, because it was clean and sterile like a lab. He knew Nines liked having other androids to talk to. Was that the problem? He'd gotten used to spending the late night hours with Chloe? "Do you…prefer it here?" Gavin asked curiously, unsure what he'd do if that were the case. He couldn't impose on Elijah indefinitely, even if his brother did look thrilled whenever Nines asked to stay longer.

"No! No, I don't." Nines objected quickly, his voice laced with earnestness. It made Gavin's stomach flutter in a way he'd been trying to avoid for weeks. As well as insisting he wasn't well enough to go home Nines had also abstained from physical affection. He'd lavish Gavin with kisses and cuddles, but nothing more. Any time Gavin tried to coax him further he was met with a yellow LED and firm hands holding him back. "I want…We will return home once your physical condition has improved." He insisted as usual. But when the fuck will that be? I feel fine!

As it turned out, the point at which his 'physical condition has improved' was when he was finally able to pass his physical fitness assessment and return to work properly. A full four months later. His ribs had set, the bruising had faded away, and although it ached sometimes he was mostly fine. It was hard to believe he hadn't set foot in his own house for almost six months. It was harder to believe he'd been denied sex for that period of time. He'd think Nines had gone off him if not for the incessant amount of kissing and cuddling that he still demanded.

"Fuck it's cold out there! I hope you put the heating on for Lynx." Gavin shivered as he climbed out of his car, standing on his driveway for the first time in half a year. The lights were on. The garden had been neatly kept. It looked exactly as he'd left it from the outside. The only difference was that the bush outside was lacking its summer leaves. It was almost the end of March now, and he couldn't believe it was still so cold. I can't believe we didn't celebrate Christmas either…It was Nines' first one! We're definitely going to have to make that shit up on his birthday…When is his birthday? Maybe Connor or Elijah knows…

"Of course. I have listed Lynx's comfort as my second priority." Nines replied as he grabbed a large suitcase from the boot of Gavin's car. Gavin huffed as he shoved his hands in his pockets, waiting for the android to draw level before speaking again.

"What's your first?" He asked, the android looking down at him meaningfully.

"Keeping my human in top condition." He replied, pressing a chaste kiss to Gavin's lips before heading up the few steps to the door. He was dressed differently to usual. Rather than his leather jacket he'd swapped it for a long black coat that was a lot like Connor's. Beneath that Reed had seen him wearing his stiff black turtleneck and slacks around the precinct. It had surprised him. Nines usually wore soft turtlenecks these days. Turtlenecks that clung to his torso and showed off his muscles like a fucking glove. He pushed the thought aside and followed Nines.

"I'm home!" Gavin called as he shut the door, already shrugging out of his leather jacket as padded paws scuffled on the wooden flooring. He looked like a child as he flopped down to his knees and accepted the press of fur against his chest. Lynx didn't make vocal sounds like a cat, but the loud purring and head butting was enough to tell Gavin that he'd been missed. A rough tongue even darted out to scrape up his stubbled cheek. "Hey there buddy! Phck, I missed you." He murmured as he stroked and teased the large cat.

Nines was somewhere over his shoulder, probably taking off his large coat and putting the case to one side. He'd also picked up Gavin's jacket and hung it on the peg, hovering by the door as he waited anxiously for Gavin to finish greeting his security system. He chuckled and watched as Lynx turned and padded away, heading to the stairs for a change. It wasn't part of his usual route, and his eyebrow was raised ready to ask about it as he turned to Nines.

"The fuck?" Gavin stammered as he took in Nines position by the door. He was standing in the standard Cyberlife at ease position, hands uniformly behind his back. Gavin felt heat shoot down between his legs as he took in the high collar and crisp material of his old Cyberlife jacket. "What's with the jacket?" The human asked, very conscious of the way the outfit enhanced Nines' colder features, making him look dark and intimidating.

"I suggest that you comply." Nines warned in a level tone as he crossed the few paces between them and grasped Gavin's wrist, twisting it up behind his back. Gavin stammered in confusion as he was turned away from Nines and forced a few paces forward to the back of the sofa, where he was subsequently bent over at the waist. Nines was gripping his wrist firmly, pressing it into the small of his back as the other hand rested on one hip. His pelvis pressed suggestively against Gavin's tight rump.

"Fuck, Nines." Gavin almost whimpered, his breath catching in his throat as he hardened uncomfortably. He couldn't control the trembling in his legs, especially as Nines rocked forward, dragging his own solid length over his rump. Gavin turned his head, need burning in his green eyes as Nines regarded him with cool blues. He was really fucking playing into it. It was without doubt the hottest thing Gavin had ever seen.

"I have been waiting to act upon previously asserted orders for the past six months. You will comply." Nines stated, heat beginning to drip into his tone and his eyes. Gavin nodded silently. He didn't have a fucking clue why, but there was no way he was going to argue when his partner was looking hot as fuck and bending him over like the dom of his dreams. His shoulder was a little sore as Nines released his wrist, allowing him to get a better grip on the back of the sofa to brace himself. "Good human…" The android praised softly, one of his hands gripping the small hair at the back of Gavin's neck. They kissed, a messy and awkward affair at their current angle, forcing Nines to bend low over Reed's back.

Gavin rocked his hips back, enjoying the surprised moan that left Nines' lips as he did so. Fuck, he loved that sound. If he could grind down and hear that sound again he'd be a happy man. Unfortunately Nines had other ideas. He straightened up and reached for the button and zipper on Gavin's jeans, tugging roughly until the shorter man was left half naked with the material pooled at his ankles. Gavin whimpered as one of those hands squeezed and teased his peachy cheeks, fingers teasing the fleshy valley between.

"Nines! Please…" Gavin whined, aware that he was currently rubbing precum into the leather of his sofa. The friction was enough to make him tremble, a sharp slap on his rump stopping him. He moaned, looking back needily at Nines' unimpressed expression. His hips were pulled further back, a hand guiding his body down. His hands were braced on the back of the sofa, while his lower body was now at least a foot away, leaving him nothing but air to grind against.

"Behave." Nines murmured, nipping his shoulder before the sound of a buckle filled the room. Gavin stiffened a little as he wondered if the android was going to fuck him dry, but the soothing circles on his shoulders put him at ease. Nines was playing a role, a fucking hot one, but he'd never actually hurt him. "You must be prepared." He almost purred, enjoying the way Gavin shivered. Nines touched himself, gathering lubricant from his own length to help ease his entry.

If he could come just from hearing a voice then he'd have done it then and there. He didn't know what Nines was playing at, but it was doing it for him. A wet finger teased his tight entrance, pressing and circling until the flesh softened up. Gavin was a whining mess of need. He was touch starved. The past six months had been torture, having Nines there but unwilling to do anything with him. Nines' hand was firm on his hip, stopping him from grinding back on the finger that now slowly eased into his passage. Fuck, it felt so good. He looked back at the android, all mechanical muscle and intimidating strength. He'd bend over for him all day.

"Your dopamine levels are rising. You enjoy this contact." Nines observed, his tone cold and clinical. Fuck yes I enjoy it! Fuck Nines! Gavin cried inwardly, the message clearly getting across through his eyes. There was something almost smug in Nines' eyes as he searched around in the tight warm cavern. Gavin panted as he rocked his hips as much as he was able with that hand on his jutting bone. "Relax for me…" The android added in a softer tone, Gavin's spine arching in need as he felt another finger work its way in.

"Nines more! More!" Gavin whined, his whole body trembling as Nines' hand stroked down over his hip to grasp his dripping length, working the precum over his solid member. Nines held firmly and let Gavin work himself for a while. It was the best feeling. Rocking back would force Nines' fingers deep into his passage, while rocking forward would make his shaft slide through the android's firm grip. He moaned helplessly as he fucked himself on Nines' hands.

"I believe you have been adequately prepared to withstand the girth of my phallus." Nines stated, squeezing Gavin's base almost painfully as he felt the human's orgasm start. "I am surprised my words can bring you to orgasm so easily." He teased, enjoying the whine Gavin let out at the cruel denial. Nines paused for a while. He didn't want Gavin to come too soon. He peppered affectionate kisses across his human's covered shoulders, the material annoying him.

"Nines…" Gavin moaned as the cotton of his top was tugged over his head, leaving him fully naked. His skin was flushed and bare. He was standing naked in his living room, bent over the back of his sofa with a fully dressed android about to pound him into next week. He shivered as the air hit his skin, skin that prickled as Nines stroked his bare spine.

"How does it feel? Being bent over naked, like an animal, while your android is fully dressed?" Nines asked, smirking as Gavin whimpered and trembled. Gavin opened his legs a little wider and bent down, his curved spine lifting his rump in offering. "Are you offering yourself to me? Allowing me to use your anal passage to my own satisfaction?" The android purred, the idea of it making Gavin's knees shake so badly they almost buckled. He nodded, but Nines made no reaction.

"Yes, fuck, Nines please!" Reed choked out desperately, almost melting as Nines leaned down over his back and let out one of those adorable little hums. A kiss was placed delicately between his shoulder blades and then the warmth was gone. A hand gripped his hip while the other lined up the lubricated tip with his entrance. A low moan escaped as Nines pressed in, the second hand soon settling on his other hip.

"I will fuck you now." Nines stated, and the words probably would have made Gavin laugh at any other time. Yeah, no shit. Gavin couldn't work up to it though. Even those words made him shiver with need. The hands on his hips tightened their grip and his breath was forced out in a wordless cry as Nines rocked into him roughly. His legs were shaking, but the android was strong enough to hold him up. Gavin was almost crying as Nines bounced him like a basketball. He could feel the material of Nines' slacks and jacket with each muffled slap of their flesh. "Gavin…Gavin!" His partner moaned, the sound making Gavin's heart surge more than anything else.

"Nines! Fuck, Nines!" Gavin replied desperately, the muscles in his arms getting sore where he was trying to hold himself up and stop himself from plummeting into the sofa. Nines was letting out those little moans and hums between loud synthetic breaths. "Fuck! Right there!" The human cried as Nines rammed his prostate. The hands tightened again, keeping that angle as he pounded relentlessly. Gavin was ready to burst. He could feel the first stutters of his orgasm. He cried out his partner's name, the android bending low over his back to bury his face in his naked shoulder.

"Mmm-Gavin…" Nines sighed as he came, both riding it out together. He didn't even want to think about the mess he'd made on the wooden floor and the sofa. He sagged in Nines' arms, grateful as the android leaned him against the back of the couch and kissed him tenderly. He had no idea what he'd done to deserve such a welcome home, but he'd go with it. He hummed lazily, content in the android's embrace.

"Nines! What the fuck?" Gavin objected as he watched Nines sink to his knees and bend down over the wooden floor. His tongue darted out and started licking the lacquered wood, the sight almost enough to bring the human to life again. His blue eyes looked up almost smugly, knowing what it was doing to him. Gavin swallowed as he watched Nines continue to clean the mess with his tongue, slowly working up to the faded smudges on the black leather. "Fuck, I want to ride you." The shorter man moaned, dragging Nines up by the stiff collar of his jacket.

They remained a tangle of cloth and limbs as they stumbled up the stairs. Nines' clothing was slowly lost along the way, starting with that damned jacket. Gavin took great pleasure in tossing it aside, almost tearing the buttons from Nines' top in his urgency. It was Nines' turn to be overpowered. He was a humming whimpering mess by the time Gavin finally pushed him back onto the bed. They shuffled up into a more comfortable position, where Nines could lie against the pillows. His blue eyes were so soft and needy, drowning in Gavin's emerald heat.

Gavin leaned down and kissed him slowly, stroking his hair as Nines explored his hips, thighs and back. The human immediately reached down and started teasing and stroking the limp member. It took Nines moments to get the hint, automatically activating the erection protocol. He moaned in contentment as Gavin lavished him with lazy strokes. The human shivered as he drew back and looked down at him like he was a rare treasure.

"You don't come until I do, you hear?" Gavin instructed, the android timidly nodding his agreement. Gavin enjoyed the sound that escaped Nines lips as he slid himself down, taking the length effortlessly. He settled for a while, getting used to the new position. He rested a hand on Nines' chest as he looked down, Nines' hands resting uncertainly on his hips. "Just lie back and let me take care of you." The human murmured as he rocked himself in a small circle. Nines shivered as he felt himself shifting in Gavin's passage. "God, so good, you're so good Nines." The human moaned, the android's pump stuttering at the praise.

He wanted to flip them. He wanted to pin Gavin into the mattress and show him how good he could be. He wanted to work him to orgasm after orgasm. He wanted to watch the human break down until he sobbed from pleasure. Gavin took his hands and raised them higher on his body. He placed one against his pecs, quietly begging for stimulation as the other hand was raised to his mouth. Nines teased Gavin's nipples with one hand as he watched his human lick and kiss the other. He mouthed his palm, licked his fingers, nipped and kissed the flesh of his fingertips. Nines blinked as his flesh drew back, leaving his hand bare in Gavin's grasp. The human moaned, opening his mouth to take two of the smooth white digits between his lips.

"Gavin…" Nines whined quietly, eyes full of warmth and love as he watched his human work himself up and down. Gavin had just started to harden under the attention, closing his eyes as he continued to kiss and lick the smooth plastic shell clutched in his hands. Nines slipped his legs higher, planting his heels in the mattress so that he could fuck up into the human on his pelvis. Gavin moaned loudly, resting a supporting hand on Nines' knees as he continued to ride.

"Nines!" Gavin moaned as he bounced, working up a steady thumping rhythm that almost matched his thirium pump. Nines moaned in response, mouth open a little as he watched his human writhe and rock against him. He was hard now, precum dripping between them. They exchanged messy kisses as Nines propped himself up on one elbow, his other hand slipping down to support Gavin's hip. "Fuck Nines! I love you Nines! Fuck!" The human choked, his words spurring Nines on.

"Gavin!" He cried helplessly as he came, feeling the human tighten around him as he came too. Gavin collapsed hard against his chest, neither of them caring for the sticky mess between them right now. Nines hummed lazily, nuzzling and kissing Gavin's cheek and neck. Gavin stiffened slightly, gradually recalling the words he'd let slip. Nines bit his lip anxiously, not wanting the warmth between them to disappear. "I…I understand that humans can often say things in the heat of the moment." He began, stopping as a hand pressed down over his lips.

"I said what I said." Gavin murmured, still not looking at the android beneath him.

"Thank you…I love you also." He confessed softly, the human drawing back to look at him like he'd grown a second head. "Your flesh…Your bones…Your heart…Your temper…Everything." Nines continued with sweet sincerity as he cupped Gavin's flushed cheek. His human wasn't used to this. He knew that. He'd been told. Gavin Reed wasn't made for softness. He wasn't supposed to be treasured. Nines disagreed. Gavin was his human. His first and only human. He was precious and irreplaceable.

"Shit, sugar cane has nothing on you…When did you learn to be so fucking sweet?" The human complained as he buried himself in Nines' firm chest. Nines smiled softly, glad that he could do this to Gavin. No one else was able to fluster him the way Nines did. He hummed as Gavin slithered higher up to his ear and turned his head. He felt lips and teeth tease his lobe before his voice spoke, barely above a whisper. "I fucking adore you, you know…From your wires to your core."
