(Omg.. ok I am really sorry I haven't updated this but I promise you all that all stories will be updated, this is the last current chapter - next one I will be skipping time to clear any confusion up I'll explain on the next chapter)

Sat at her desk in the office Carla didn't know she was meant to do, Peter had answered her and sounded terrified, he hadn't answered any calls since what was going on.

She felt sick, sick to her stomach like someone had just punched her gut, but that might've been cause Roy had rushed her to eat this morning.

Flipping the pages of the diary she scanned through reading what meetings she had assigned that day trying to forget all the worries about Peter but it wasn't working she kept thinking to herself why was Peter terrified? Where was he?

Michelle walked in with a bag from Roy's, as Carla looked up to her with a soft smile Chelle could see the pain and the worry behind the strong woman trying to hold it all together.

Her phone lit up with a Facebook notification as Michelle asked "who's that?" Carla picked the phone up to initiate she'd received the notification.

Michelle walked over and took a glance "Lucas Kempton sent you a friend request" Carla looked up at Chelle and logged into Facebook

"Getting serious then.." Michelle teased with a smirk before looking at his profile

"Shut it you.." she said as she clicked accept, a smile across her face as Michelle smirked

Scrolling through Facebook Carla lands on Peter's post

9th December 2020

Isn't my missus a stunner!

"Peter pushed you away.. you didn't cause it Carla" Michelle's voice played quietly as Carla looked to the photo Peter had taken.

She nodded and began to scroll further seeing a flashback come up in her feed. To see another photo attached of Peter holding Carla in his arms.

A tear escaped from her tear ducks, this pain was worse than finding out he'd had an affair.

This was like she'd never see him again, it hurt to think about it and before she knew it Michelle was cuddling her she didn't realise she was full on crying.

"Carla, he will come home he just needs time" she stroked her hair, settling her closest friend as she turned to look at her.

"How about you say we go to the pub and just get drunk" Michelle said with a laugh which made Carla laugh with a nod, she needed something to take her mind off everything.

"He left her behind!" Michelle finished her sentence and Carla just laughed, having drunken a few glasses they were sharing stories of their childhood to pass the time.

"Omg.. you know how mam would cut our hair with the bowl and scissors? Well remember when she slipped and I was left with this half cut side and the other bangs" Carla laughed, making Michelle laugh more.

"You took weeks to level that out!" She replied making Carla laugh.

Jenny looked on as Carla and Michelle discussed good times and was pleased at how well Carla was dealing with everything.

"Oh.. I better get going soon" Michelle began to calm down as Carla finished her wine.

"Yeah me too although my brains slightly fuzzy now" she laughed.

"Oh I found a house for sale, it's on the outskirts of weatherfield but it is BEAUTIFUL" Michelle said making Carla smile, she felt right.

"Papers are ready to sign whenever.." she added.

"You serious about this?" Carla asked

"Yeah I mean it'll take a few days to get everything sorted but yeah" Chelle smiled

Carla picked up her phone, no missed calls, no messages, nothing but then..

A message popped through

LUCAS KEMPTON

Hey you..

She bit her lip gently, tempting and debating to open it.

Putting the phone down after stopping herself, Peter's her priority if he returns she reminded herself, walking out of her bedroom to see if Roy was home.

She couldn't sleep, her mind kept running over everything she'd said and done to Peter all in the past that and the amount of alcohol she'd consumed mere hours earlier.

"Roy.." she gently called out.

"Here.." she walked into the living room to see him laying out his model train set.

"Hey.. what are you doing?" She asked, sitting down next to him, her head rested on her hand, gazing into the colour scheme of the train from red to blue and green she couldn't tell you the names though.

"I'm simply laying out which were the most important and most used in the late 1900's to see what ones used the most sufficient power and steam to travel up and down the country.." he placed a few more down and Carla groaned.

"Is everything ok.. you seem, frustrated" he asked, looking to his friend.

"Frustrated, going out of my mind more like" she chuckled nervously and sat back.

"What have I done Roy.." she looked to him, clearly upset.

"Peter..?" He asked, not wanting to step on any loose wires.

"Mm.. Peter, Lucas, Adam.. all of it my life's just clashing together right now. I might aswell just drop it all and be single, it seems the most easiest option, men are hard work!" She looked to Roy with an exhausted face.

"I mean.. Peter has his faults, but he always comes back for you in the end. No matter what's happened he's always looking for another and another chance.. what you need to decide now is if you're willing to give him that." he said making Carla think over what's happened over the last decade for her.

"As for Adam.. simply put aside your differences and move on. You've made mistakes Carla, does not mean you can't change them - you must not let something like this affect the way you are to live your life you just need to realise you should not repeat past mistakes no matter even if it's happened to you." He went on to say.

"And Lucas.. I don't know who he is to even begin on that one but don't let Peter stop you leading your life. Not unless you are ready to drop everything to look after him, he's a worried and ill man, he has his family if you don't choose to be right by his side.." he finished before going back to his trains.

As Carla pondered right there.. is Peter really worth fighting for?
