Author's note: This is my first fanfiction, so it might not be one of the best ones you've ever read, but please, please, give it a try! I also do not own any of the characters!

Chapter 1

The summer holiday had just ended in New York and Annabeth was waiting to attend her new high school for her junior year. This time it was Goode High she was going to attend. She hated changing school, but what could she do when her mother was an a coffee shop servant, and her boss would once i some time change her working place. It was just 6 o'clock in the morning and she had just woken up for school, and she could feel in the pit of her stomach the anxiety gathered up towards her new school. Annabeth was not afraid of the new environment, but more of the new people there. You see, Annabeth was not social, she was not completely an introvert, but definitely not one of the social kind. Usually she enjoyed being alone and reading some new book from the city library rather than participating in some girl-talk conversation about the latest fashion outfits. But whatever she did, she was still very likeable, thanks to her great humour and kindness, just finding new friends was not one of her strengths.

At 7 o'clock in the morning she reluctantly left the house and started her half an hour walk towards her new school. Since this was just her second time walking this new route to her school, she had speared herself fifteen minutes time for calling in help if she got lost on the way. Many may have wondered, why she was walking to school on the first day of the school year, without her parents driving her to school like other good parents did. Well, Annabeth liked walking to school, because for her it meant half an hour of freedom before the school started. On the way to school, she liked feeling the light breeze brush her fragile face and letting her mind wander through some of the most random things in her life.

This time the half an hour walk seemed to pass by too fast, way too fast. Before she even noticed, the large school building had already grown ahead of her, the large red brick letters forming the words Goode High on the grey stone wall. The first thought that occurred to her was that her new school was very ugly. Annabeth took her last deep breath and walked towards the flock of students in front of her. She was praying this year would be a good school year. She also promised herself that there would be no drama.

As the bell rang, she walked as fast as possible to the secretary's office. She wanted to get her schedule for the first semester and her locker key. Annabeth wanted this to happen as fast as possible, because she didn't want to be too late for her first lesson here. She didn't want to attract any more attention to herself than she had to.

Unfortunately on the way there, as she had her head down her eyes fixed on the floor, she bumped into something, or more specifically someone. So much for a good start here she thought. She lifted her head slowly up only seeing the person's chest. How tall could this person be was Annabeth's next thought, as she was thinking up an apology for her bumping into this person. She continued lifting her head up, as at last she saw the person's face, everything she had thought up seemed to flow away. In front of her stood a boy, maybe a senior, with sea green eyes, raven black hair and a beautiful jawline. He was very handsome. The boy was emotionless as he just stared into Annabeth's eyes without a word. Annabeth started blushing fiercely as she started muttering apologies. Instead of answering the boy just walked away leaving the speechless, silly girl on her own in the middle of the now-empty corridor.

It took Annabeth only a few seconds to gain back her thoughts as she quickly shook her head and continued walking towards the secretary's office. On her way there her thoughts were still on this mysterious boy, who was he. At a quick glance at her phone screen, she knew she would be late for her first class.
