To those who live in America, we will never forget. To those who don't: Today in America we are remembering the day the twin towers fell. The day thousands of people died. So, "May we never forget."

This is the last real chapter I will have something posted tomorrow. You will see what it is tomorrow.

Chapter 36 - The new Girl

"Private Jackson report!" commanded an officer.

"I am back from my temporary release and lost all of my uniforms to a fire." I said. I had an amazing time strangling my brother over the summer and now, I am back to california. I took Guido because Zeus would have fried me had I rode a plane.

"Ok, the new workout for 13 year olds is 50 pushups with a person sitting on you and 95 sit ups." they told me jotting down what I told him.

"Who's my partner?" I asked. I have seen the older kids doing their workouts before and they always work with the same person.

"Private Mclean attention!" the officer yelled. A girl maybe one or two years younger than me came up and just stood there. She had on a camo hat with… hello kitty on it… and braces lining the upper row of her teeth.

"You are new aren't you?" I asked. I knew because she didn't salute like she was supposed to.

"Mclean, this is Jackson. You two will be exercise partners as long as both of you are at this school." said the officer. Then he walked away leaving me and Mclean alone.

"So, how long have you been stuck here?" I asked.

"About a month. Are you new too?" she asked me.

"Oh no. I am definitely not new. I am pretty much the school brat because I have been here the longest. My first name is Peyton." I smiled.

"Nice, I am Piper. No one else has talked to me." said Piper.

"Well if you ever struggle with the workouts we can lie and pretend you did the whole thing until you get up to speed." I whispered.

She giggled.

"You said you have been here a long time. How long have you been here? Why can't you go to a different school?" Piper asked.

"I have been here since I was seven and I turned thirteen a few days ago. I can't leave because you only get to leave if your parents have enough money and you get in trouble. Most kids that come here have rich parents. My mom has very little money because she is the only one with a job." I said.

"Peyton, what about your dad?" Piper asked me.

"I had a step father. He was a lazy couch potato who played poker and was drunk 99.99999999% of the time. He is the reason I was shipped to this place. If my mom had enough money I would have been gone within my first month." I said.

"My dad put me here too." Piper said.

"Hey, Piper. It is ok. I am sure he did it to help you. Where does he live?" I asked her.

"Here in California not far away." Piper mumbled.

"Can you run there within an hour?" I asked.

"Most likely not." Piper admitted.

"Here, come sit on me." I said. When Piper looked like she was gonna object I said, "I meant for my workout. Don't worry about it, I have been doing these workouts since I was seven." Piper said fine so when I crouched down into a plank position Piper sat on me and I started doing my workout.

When I finally finished my 50 pushups I was breathing hard and my face was tomato red, "Please don't tell me I have to do that." Piper said.

"You don't have to until you are 13. By the way, I forgot to ask, how old are you?" I said as I started my sit ups.

"I am 11." Piper told me.

Later during free hour Piper tagged along with me when I went to see Jonny with my guitar.

"Where are you going?" asked Piper.

"To see an old friend, when he calls me Penelopee don't correct him." I laughed.

We kept walking until we reached a familiar clearing. I could hear the familiar sounds of a song and I started strumming the notes on my guitar.

"Hey Penelopee! You are back! I was wondering if you had stopped coming." Jonny said, pausing in the middle of the song.

"Remember how I said I was raising money to get a gift for my brother?" I asked.

"How could I forget?" the hippy asked.

"I finally got to visit him this summer." I said.

"That is great! I am so happy for you! Who is the new girl?" asked Jonny.

"Hi," waved Piper.

"I met her today, she decided to come with me. So, what song should we do?"
