THE MONITOR: In the beginning, there was only one...a single black infinitude. Then the infinitude found release, and finally, the darkness broke, filling it with life. With the Multiverse. Every existence multiplied by possibility, and spread out before space and time in infinite measure. Civilizations rose and fell, and rose again to cross realities grasping expanse. Life, a precious gift persevering in the face of every obstacle, until finally, the age of heroes was born. Chaos, the constant enemy of life, kept at bay by champions from across the Multiverse. Joining forces to fight on behalf of all creation, they found each other just in time. (Hawk and Robin stand heroically, facing the Anti-Matter wave.) Because now, the entire Multiverse is about to come under attack. (The wave ripples through, destroying all in its path and leaving behind... nothingless) There is a malevolent force at work, one driven by a singular goal.

(Alexander Knox looks up from his newspaper - The Gotham Gazette to see the bat signal shining against the red sky)

ALEXANDER KNOX (Earth-89): I hope you're watching, big guy.

(An Anti-Matter Wave destroys him and all of Goham)

THE MONITOR: [as narrator] The destruction of all there is.

THE RAY (Earth-X): Oh, no!

THE MONITOR: [as narrator] I have planned. There are those who say I have schemed. But the time for preparation has passed. The Crisis is now upon us all.

DICK GRAYSON (Earth-66): Holy crimson skies of death!

[THUNDER RUMBLING]

CIVILIAN: The end of the world is licking at our heels! Soon, thou shall be not but dust, twisting and writhing in the dead of space! Not even Superman will save you from…. [But just as he was about to finish talking, a monster type creature appeared and began snarling at the civilian. As it was about to attack, Superman appeared in front of the beast, defending the civilian.]

SUPERMAN: Guess Superman was able to save you. Now, go! Run! Hey, Spike! Remember me? Ilana's worried about you. She knows you're afraid of something, - but she just wants you to come home. - [MONSTER FOOTSTEP THUDS] Come here. [MONSTER LOW GROWLING] [SUPERMAN GRUNTS] [MONSTER GRUNTS] [The monster then shrinks down into a little lizard.] What's got you so spooked, buddy?

[Superman then hears a distant rumbling and flies back to the government agency he assists time and time again. The DEO. He lands and then talks to his peers.]

SUPERMAN: Every pet in National City is having a nervous breakdown. This feels bigger than Leviathan.

BRAINIAC 5: The USGS didn't register an early warning, so it took everyone completely by surprise. And I do mean everyone because this earthquake is quite, literally, worldwide. But the seismic activity wasn't coming from within the planet, it's coming from without. - That's - Extra-normal.

SUPERMAN: I was gonna say "impossible," but okay.

BRAINIAC 5: Yes, yes, a fair descriptor. As would be, uh "unfeasible, unthinkable, absurd, outlandish. " But however you choose to describe this event, one thing is absolutely certain….

MARTIAN MANHUNTER: We have a major crisis on our hands. The Monitor is here.

SUPERMAN: The Monitor? The one Sam, Sonic and Bruce told us about, is here?

MARTIAN MANHUNTER: Last year, The United Heroes were tested with Thanos to see if those three were capable of leadership in this coming crisis. This year, he's testing me to make sure I'm ready for this.

[Then another rumbling occurred and shook the entire base.]

SUPERMAN: Another reality wave?

BRAINIAC 5: Not exactly. Whatever is it, it is hurtling through space at an impossible speed. I calculate it will reach the edge of the universe in exactly 5.3 hours, at which point, it will boomerang back. Once it intersects again with our solar system, the results will be, in a word, cataclysmic.

SUPERMAN: Exactly when will it reach us?

BRAINIAC 5: There are too many variables to calculate precisely, but I will say this. If this wave isn't stopped by tomorrow night there will be no more us no more future no more anything. [EXPLOSION BOOMS]

MARTIAN MANHUNTER: Are there any inhabited planets in its trajectory?

BRAINIAC 5: Not anymore.

[We then cut to Batman training Dick Grayson to become the next Batman as he was the only person Batman told of this prophecy and if this prophecy came to pass, Bruce would rest easy knowing Gotham and his family were safe. They were currently on the island where Ra's al Ghul and Bruce had their final confrontation.]

BATMAN: For a very long time, I have hated this place. I think about all the people that it took from me. It would, just, It would just make me so angry.

DICK GRAYSON: But you're not now.

BATMAN: I'm still a little bit angry. This island taught me to survive. It turned me into someone else. Somebody better than the person I was before. So, despite my feelings there are no stories about Batman to tell if I don't make my way to Lian Yu. And I'm also standing, at this moment looking at my adoptive son.

DICK GRAYSON: Bruce, when you adopted me when my parents died. You changed my life. Thank you for letting me be a part of your story.

BATMAN: Yeah, something tells me you're gonna create your own stories.

[THUNDER RUMBLING]

[Then suddenly, Harbinger, The Monitor's assistant appears before the two heroes. Bruce exactly knew what this meant.]

BATMAN: He sent you, didn't he?

HARBINGER: The crisis has begun.

[We then cut to Knothole, where Sonic the hedgehog is running around searching for the cause of the red skies.]

SONIC: Sally, what have you got? Is this just happening here? Is it everywhere? Sal? [STATIC BUZZING OVER COMMS] Tails? Ames? Knux?

[Then the Harbinger appears before Sonic.]

SONIC: Who are you?

HARBINGER: I'm Harbinger. I'm working with the Monitor.

[Sonic realised as soon as he heard that name what this meant.]

SONIC: He sent you to get me? Because the Crisis is here?

HARBINGER: That is correct.

SONIC: I'm ready.

NEWSCASTER: Turning our attention to local news, a series of robberies by the Wrecking Crew continues with seemingly no end in sight [CONTINUES INDISTINCTLY]

[Then a gang member is thrown into a television by Sam Wilson, The new Captain America, sporting his Falcon amour with some added details. He now had a blue and white colour scheme and sported a white star in the mussel of his chest and had Cap's shield in hand. He went up to the gang member and began to interrogate him.]

SAM WILSON: Alright, where's your boss?

THUG: I'll never talk!

SAM WILSON: You do realise who I am right. I'm the leader of the United Heroes, you know what that means?

[But before he could get an answer, Thor and Winter Soldier were teleported to his location.]

BUCKY BARNES: Sam?

THOR: What is this?

SAM WILSON: I was about to ask you the same question.

[Then Harbinger appeared before them.]

HARBINGER: Sam Wilson, you and your team must accept the call to battle. The crisis is here.

SAM WILSON: He sent you didn't he? Take us there.

[They were then teleported to another location.]
