Boy

Hades was the mighty king of the Underworld even at a relatively young age, but Persephone first met him as just a boy in love. He'd first glimpsed her in her mother's garden, gathering flowers for wreaths and mortal requests, and something in his heart stirred at the sight of her.

Gathering his courage, the boy who was king approached her, nervous, and her shy smile met his own. She waited for Hades to make a move, and he stammered a hello, taking his hat off in greeting.

Persephone waved back, and Hades nearly fainted out of nerves; she giggled at the imposing king being head over heels for her. Other goddesses, or even other mortals, might take advantage of love at first sight, but Persephone merely waited to see what he would do.

Finally, Hades found his voice: "Come home with me," he asked.

Many years later, Hermes saw history repeat itself. There was a different boy with a different life, but the same kind of love.
