Last Chapter: Judai messed up royally.
Chapter 6: Judai's Not-So-Perfect-Anymore Plan, the aftermath
Kingsley Shacklebolt was walking around the Ministry looking for the missing ward of the Order. A foolish and very troublesome ward at that, too. Not that he thought the child would be here, in the Ministry of Magic, of all places.
Except that after a flash of complete Darkness, his missing target had appeared out of nowhere in the hall, together with You-Know-Who and Death Eaters, to boost! What exactly had that child done?
He quickly, concealed, of course, sent a Patronus to the Order of the Phoenix and the rest of the Aurors as he watched the frightened child run to an unsuspecting witch, hiding behind her from You-Know-Who and the Death Eaters. The witch looked annoyed for a moment, until she noticed who were fast approaching, and she screamed. Her scream soon attracted everyone's attention in the hall, and more screams of terror joined hers. But the witch whom Judai was hiding behind soon fell silent as a green light was sent toward her.
Even though he was an Auror and a member of the Order, Kingsley stood frozen to his spot, unable to help anyone. 'I'm just not suicidal,' he reasoned.
Kingsley watched silently as he hoped Judai would stay alive long enough for the rest of the Order, and Dumbledore, to arrive, no matter how unlikely that seemed.
Albus Dumbledore had always thought their young guest in 12 Grimmauld Place was... exceptional, but as the war was rising silently, the thought of Judai simply hadn't taken the priority on his list. Yes, the child may be dangerous, but Dumbledore had too many other things to worry about. Until that morning.
The ruckus the child had caused because of his letter had forced Dumbledore to return his focus back to him. But at least one thing had been made clear in that letter, that the child was in no league together with Tom, who prefered to be known as Voldermort.
When Sirius had called to his office to notify that, yes, Judai Yuuki hadn't been in the Headquarter, he had the Order members go find the child at once. And right after receiving the notice from Kingsley, he immediately had the portraits of Hogwarts inform the rest of the Order.
"Ah, youth, always love their adventures..." he stood up from behind his table.
And he disapparated.
Sirius would go to the Ministry as well, no way he would stay put anymore, not when it had been him who let Judai run out of the house.
So Sirius, together with Remus, Nymphadora and Mad-Eye apparated at the Ministry of Magic to meet up with Kingsley who was already there.
And then he saw it. Voldemort was raising his wand at Judai, who was, miraculously still alive, whimpering behind the dead body of a witch. So of course Sirius ran out from his hiding position, firing spell after spell at Voldemort, not caring that Dumbledore had not arrived yet, or that he would have no chance against him.
The battle broke out.
Remus looked on in horror as Sirius broke out from his position only to charge head-on at You-Know-Who! And he couldn't let Sirius just go and die like that. So, like the loyal friend that he was, not like some rat, Remus went out of his hiding place and into the battle as well.
Luckily, Dumbledore appeared only seconds later. Sirius would live, then! And maybe Judai too. But he could worry about them later as he faced his Death Eaters opponents.
Lord Voldemort was raging. They had been seen in public, all thanks to the insufferable child whom the Light was scared of. And to add salt to the injury, Dumbledore had arrived too.
He and Dumbledore then dueled. But even he realised when he couldn't defeat the old geezer, just not yet though, seeing as his final attempt at killing the old geezer had been spoiled by his fried chicken. So he strategically withdrew, not that he was scared of Dumbledore at all!
Peter Pettigrew knew he was screwed. He had been stunned by a spell from the pink hair witch and the Dark Lord had disapparated, leaving him no chance of actually escaping, or turning into a rat.
The werewolf looked at him in disgust, and Black was cracking at his misfortune.
And the Minister had arrived as well. Things looked very grim for him right now.
Things didn't look any brighter for Lucius Malfoy, as he had been seen as one of the Death Eaters in the battle.
All because of that cursed Mudblood, too. He should have destroyed him when he had the chance, before the Dark Lord had taken interest in him and had somehow failed to annihilate another child, who wasn't even Potter!
But now, everything had been too late.
Cornelius Fudge had arrived at the battle between Dumbledore and You-Know-Who. There's no denying that You-Know-Who had returned.
Only when You-Know-Who had retreated that he had stepped out into the hall.
"Dumbledore!" he gasped, "you- he- I-"
"Yes, Cornelius, Voldemort is back," Dumbledore said his not-so-ridiculous-anymore claim of his again. Then he turned his gaze to a child who was being tended for by the criminal Sirius Black!
"You!" he screeched, pointing at Black. He was about to scream for his Aurors to capture Black when Dumbledore stopped him.
"Ah, I shall explain everything," said Dumbledore, "when I have Judai back to safety."
"Judai? As in the disillusioned child?"
"Not so disillusioned anymore now that Voldemort had really returned?" said Dumbledore.
"And he also claimed to be able to defeat You-Know-Who," said Fudge.
Dumbledore only smiled at that. "We aren't here to discuss young Judai's mental state," he said firmly.
"Ah yes-"
And Dumbledore's werewolf stepped up. "We have captured Peter Pettigrew here. We can prove Sirius' innocence now," said the werewolf smugly.
"What?" Fudge asked, disbelieved.
It looked like the day had stored more than enough surprises for him to turn his world upside down.
That evening, owls flew to the Great Hall in great numbers, bringing news of the return of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and the capture of some of his Death Eaters, including Peter Pettigrew and Lucius Malfoy. They then questioned the innocence of Sirius, seeing as Pettigrew was still alive and was a Death Eater.
Harry couldn't believe this day. First, he spent all day worrying about Judai as no one had seen it fit to tell him anything, per usual, and now the Ministry finally admitted that Voldemort had come back, that Harry hadn't been the crazy attention-seeking he had been accused of all summer, and his Godfather may finally get his deserved trial. And then the students had come to his seat to say their apologies.
It was all too much that Harry broke down into happy tears. But he secretly worried that all of this was just an elaborate dream his brain had cooked up because of his desperation that that night he tossed and turned in his bed, unable to fall asleep.
It was only in the next morning when Hermione had confirmed that he hadn't dreamed all of it, and the morning owls brought even more apologising letters, that Harry finally started letting himself believe it.
Unlike Harry, whose day had gone from worse to best, Judai's day had gone from bad to worst.
Firstly, he had been beaten pretty easily by the Evil Lord despite all the Darkness's reassurance. It was humiliating. And his hero had been seriously injured too! All because of his arrogance!
Secondly, after he was taken back to Grimmauld Place and checked over, Sirius had decided to ground him. Ground him! As in, no leaving the house, and no having friends to play Duel Monster together! Judai was so into his rant that he, in fact, did not realise it was nothing different from his daily life in the Headquarter of the Order since Harry and everyone left for Hogwarts.
And lastly, the Gentle Darkness was angry with him!
Evidently, the Darkness had forgiven his pasts' past losses against the Light of Destruction because he hadn't been aware of the Darkness power within him. But now he had gone and lost to the Light when fully aware of their power, which apparently was an unforgivable crime! It was disgraceful! The Darkness had never been forced to retreat from the Light like that, and the Light hadn't even reached their peak potential with their new host!
What a horrible day it had been!
Author's note: I accidentally made the Gentle Darkness dumb just like Judai.
