Kiss

Above, their first kiss had been spontaneous, passionate, and full of pleasure. Both Orpheus and Eurydice had never felt such love before, and when the kiss softly ended, Eurydice tenderly laying her head across his chest, they knew it was only the start of their relationship.

From then on the lovers were rarely apart, only separating when Eurydice left to gather supplies and Orpheus stayed behind to work on his songs. Each time, they parted with a kiss and a promise to return.

The day Eurydice didn't come back, Orpheus had barely felt her lips graze his cheek. He was so lost in his melody that even his lover was a passing thought, and Eurydice was more focused on the task at hand and gave a curt goodbye before the wind swept her life away.

But when they reunited in the Underworld and kissed once more, it was full of desperation, love, and renewed passion—for Orpheus and Eurydice knew it could be the last time they'd ever kiss.
