Flask
It started small, as most things did, and as a gift from her husband. Knowing Persephone liked to drink, Hades made it easier for her with a small flask to carry 'round when she needed a quick sip, steel and silver finely crafted with his own two hands.
Persephone accepted it with humor, carrying water at first as a joke before switching to harder alcohol. Soon her silver flask was firmly attached to her hip, and in the summer nights when she was up top, she studied her reflection and imagined her husband beside her.
When the cracks in their marriage began to form Persephone was even more grateful for the flask, as it gave her an excuse to drink instead of talk. A present from her man, it was, and what kinda wife would she be if she didn't use it?
As she drowned her sorrows, the flask refilling as soon as it was emptied, Persephone briefly wondered when she'd stop lying to herself. But with another swallow, she put it out of mind.
