This is my second book in my new 'Appreciated' Glee Alternate Universe and I have a lot of ideas for this. This isn't going to be a one-shot, it will be a multiple chapter fic. I hope you are all healthy and well during the global pandemic. On Monday, it was announced that students in the Great Britain would be returning to school March 8th (I'm just happy I can watch the flash without having to go to school the next day because I will re-watch the episode a lot) so updates will be pretty slow for awhile until hopefully June/July when I will be out of school and into either college or Post-16 (I don't think they have this in America but post-16/ sixth-form is when you choose to stay on in a secondary school and do courses that you wouldn't do as Year 11 or any of the younger years. damn, this is actually really hard to explain :/). Anyway, I hope you all read the first piece I posted with caution because the purpose was to educate and get people to understand that there are trials and triumphs with mental health and it's real effect on people.

Well done to everyone out there struggling with things they don't talk about. Well done to everyone who wakes up everyday even if they don't want to. You can do this :)

Rating: M; 18+ (I can't exactly moderate whether you all read it or not but I hope you read with caution and understand the weight of these topics and the severity following them all)

Warnings: talk of past emotional and physical abuse, self-harm, graphic depictions of self-harm, substance abuse, foul language, talk of depression, anxiety attacks, talk of anxiety, mild suicidal thoughts. (for the whole book not for separate chapters)

Disclaimer: A) All these characters are OOC, I also own nothing. RIB own Glee and the characters.

Please read this with caution especially if you get easily triggered from topics like this.

It was meant to be a simple invitational. It was supposed to become an annual thing between The Warblers and New Directions after Wes and Mr. Schuster had made an agreement after he first came to power. But then Sue Sylvester just had to ruin it.

Thad, Sebastian and Wes were in a conversation with Brittany and Santana when Sue walked in, a smirk on her face.

"What do you want, Sue?" Will began, gaining everyone's attention. Santana and Brittany shared a look before turning to look at their coach.

"Schuster," Sue acknowledged The Warblers in the room, "Lima's gay club"

Wes just gawked at her with wide eyes whilst Santana and Brittany snorted at what she said. Sebastian and Thad found the humour in it and chuckled softly.

"Why are you here, Coach?" Santana asked this time and Sue looked directly at her and then to Sebastian, a smile appearing on her face.

"Because, Sandbags, I finally have enough money to fund my campaign to stop the arts at every school in Ohio" She declared, smiling as her eyes landed on Sebastian once more.

Sebastian could feel her eyes on him and it made him feel uncomfortable. He wasn't even a student here so he had no idea why she kept glancing at him.

"Who shares the same views as a crazy, narcissistic views as an 80-year-old who drinks sweat? " Santana asked and that made all of The Warblers and New Directions snort and chuckle.

"The state attorney," She said, her eyes returning to Sebastian, "Who is your father, Sebastian"

Sebastian felt numb. He was speechless. He knew he and his father had always shared different views about the arts but he never thought he would go this far to get rid of it. Thad and Wes looked at Sebastian in concern. They had only just gotten him back on track after he had tried to cut himself almost an entire month ago and they didn't want this pushing him back. Kurt was looking at Sebastian with disdain. Of course he would get his father to do this and then play dumb about it. Sebastian was sneaky like that. At least, that's what he believed. Santana and Brittany, who were still standing beside Sebastian, Wes and Thad, just looked at The Warbler Captain, not knowing how to feel. They could see the confliction on his face though, and something indicated that he had no idea what his father was up to.

Sue walked out moments later, feeling victorious. Thad grabbed Sebastian's wrist lightly, trying to at least ground him. Blaine just stared at his former bully, wondering why he hadn't argued against Sue and ran out to call his father to get him to change his mind. Maybe he wanted this too.

"Aren't you going to go call him?" Kurt asked, outraged at how all Sebastian could do was just stand there and not bother to do anything. If this was his father he would argue relentlessly until he finally caved and gave him what he wanted.

Sebastian silently looked at Thad before pulling his phone out of his pocket and walking towards the backend of the Auditorium, not wanting anyone to listen in. Kurt just scoffed and turned towards his boyfriend, who was busy watching Sebastian in concern. He didn't look right. Plus, he could literally feel the uneasiness from Sebastian all the way on the other side of the room as he was trying to phone his father.

Suddenly, Sebastian exited the room rather quickly, concerning a lot of people. Even Kurt, Rachel, Finn and Puck were concerned at this point. Thad and Wes turned to one another and suddenly Thad was sprinting out of the room himself, wanting to go to his best friend.

David shared a look with Nick, Jeff and Wes before walking towards the exit to the Auditorium, going after the duo. Everyone was dead silent as he left the room.

"We have to do something, Mr. Schue," Rachel began, "I cannot lose the arts!"

"You're not the only one," Mercedes commented, angered herself. Sam looked at her softly and placed a supportive hand on her shoulder, squeezing softly. She looked at him and smiled softly before turning back to the others in the room.

"What are we going to do?" Artie asked, feeling especially bummed out. The arts helped him become more confident and helped him ground himself. This wasn't fair.

Kurt felt something in him, it was a lot more then anger, but regardless it was still aimed towards Sebastian.

"Aren't any of you angry with that criminal chipmunk?" Kurt asked, confused as to why no-one was blaming him. When everyone else shook their heads, Kurt scoffed once more and began to just go off on one.

"It's his father behind this, how do you know that he wasn't involved in it too?" Kurt began, ignoring the looks he was receiving, "Sebastian would do anything to win so maybe he asked his father to pitch in, get rid of the remaining glee clubs he thought weren't good enough so The Warblers would be on top"

Blaine jumped in, "Sebastian didn't look like he had heard any of this, Kurt. He looked more hurt then anything"

"Sebastian is a good actor. I'll give him that," Kurt argued, "Sebastian wants all of this to happen, he just didn't want it to be outed like this"

"You have no idea what you're talking about so be quiet," Wes gritted out at Kurt, making the room go dead silent once more. Both Blaine and Kurt knew when Wes was angry it was best to remain quiet and let him say his piece, "As for Sebastian being a good actor, yeah he is. For the past month he's been acting like he's fine and we've all believed it so yeah he is a good actor"

And with that Wes and the remaining Warblers walked out of the room, deciding to head home. This was not how the day was supposed to go.

Thad was worried. The last time Sebastian had been this upset was when he had tried to cut himself and he prayed that Sebastian wouldn't relapse. He couldn't let that happen. It took him awhile but he soon found the teen. He was sitting on the bleachers by the football pitch, his phone clutched in his hands. Sighing softly, Thad began climbing the seating area, a light smile on his face as Sebastian hesitantly looked up after hearing footsteps nearing him. Thad quietly sat beside his best friend, gently prying the phone from his grip.

"Bas, you okay?" He asked him softly, turning to face him. Sebastian kept quiet, keeping his gaze on the floor instead of on Thad.

"Sebastian?" Thad tried once more, concerned even more when he watched Sebastian wipe tears away and sniff slightly.

"He's my father," Sebastian began, his voice hoarse, "He's my fucking dad and all he ever does is make me feel like complete shit"

Thad remained silent, letting Sebastian just talk. He knew this was long overdue.

"Ever since I was 7-years-old and he used to chuck plates at me and my older brothers for fun," Sebastian cried out, and Thad felt himself pale, "He always hated me and this just backs it up"

"Bas," Thad whispered, wrapping an arm around Sebastian, pulling him close, "He sounds like a prick. I'm sorry he put you through that"

"I'm terrified of him," Sebastian cried out once more, "He made his own children be afraid of him.. He doesn't want us and he never will..."

As scared as Thad was, he needed to ask this question. He needed to know how badly his dad had messed with his head. For the sake of Sebastian's well-being he needed to know if he was still in this situation.

"Has your father ever hit you, Bas?" Thad eventually asked after a lengthy silence. Thad felt the teen in his embrace begin to shake and that spoke a thousand words. Wordlessly, Thad pulled Sebastian into a tight hug and just let his best friend break down in his arms. He'd make sure Sebastian's father got what was coming to him, even if it meant having to lose the brotherhood he had with The Warblers.

Later that day, after everyone in Dalton had gone to bed, Sebastian was busy attempting to sneak out of the school. He needed one of his old vices, one that wouldn't get everyone worried about him.

He needed a drink and fucking hell did he need one.
