This might just be the shortest chapter so far. I didn't mean it to be this short, and it didn't feel this short when writing it. Anyway, hope you enjoy!

"Well I guess some of your plans just don't work," said Nicole.

"Maybe it will," Draco said, suspiciously.

"Draco, what are you planning?" Lily asked.

"None of your business, Moon," Draco said. "Got a lot to tell you."

Nicole looked at Draco for a second. He's bullying Harry for really no reason, other than he chose to be friends with Ron over him. After a while, Draco continued talking to Crabbe and Goyle, like he was planning something.

"Why does he act like this, Lily?" asked Nicole. "What the hell happened to him?"

"I don't know much about Draco…"

"What?" Nicole said, looking confused. "You two act like you've known and hated each other for years!"

"That's because this school has so much division," said Sophie Roper. "People start hating each other when they first come here."

"Can you please stop it with your cynical commentary?" asked Lily. "Who the hell are you to keep droning on about us? You know nothing about us, yet you keep pretending like you know everything!"

"I'm just giving you all pieces of advice," Sophie said. "Take it with ease."

Sophie went to another side of the table, away from Nicole and Lily.

"Our parents know each other well," Lily said. "I wouldn't call them 'friends', but they have a mutual respect for each other. I only met Draco a few months before the summer. Where I told him I knew I was either going to be in Gryffindor or Slytherin. We got on a little bit, but it's like he didn't consider my own feelings. We met up again in Diagon Alley. That's when we started to not get along. He criticized me for my interest in muggle philosophy."

"Why?"

"Because Draco has a superiority complex," said Lily. "His whole family does."

"But why would witches and wizards be interested in muggle culture anyway?" Nicole asked. The Wizarding world seemed so cool, beautiful and better than the muggle one, so why would anyone want to leave it, or be interested in something else?

"Well, the same reason muggles would be interested in wizard culture," Lily explained. "They're simply intrigued to how they get on without magic. Draco and his family aren't interested however. They just think muggles are completely inferior because they haven't got magic."

Nicole thought for a second. Well, she's definitely morally superior to people like the Dursleys, but is she naturally superior with her abilities? One part of her liked to think so, but other parts of her crept in and said no.

"Why does he hate my brother so much?" asked Nicole.

"Because he's famous," said Lily. "And since he's famous, he's upstaging Draco at everything. Including Quidditch it looks like now."

"Well, that's just dumb," said Nicole.

"I know," said Lily. "But he's Draco Malfoy, you can't tell him anything to get him to stop."

"I can try," Nicole said, as she was about to go over to Draco, but he was already walking over to the Gryffindor table. Sophie came over to her.

"Be warned, Nicole, he is angry," she said. "Don't get on his wrong side today."

"Get out of my way!" Nicole said, aggressively.

"Don't say you weren't warned."

Nicole scoffed. She already knew Draco was angry, why did she need to be told this?

"I'd take you on anytime on my own," she heard Draco say. "Tonight, if you want. Wizard's duel." Wizard's duel? Nicole assumed by the name what that was, and it didn't sound pretty. "Wands only – no contact. What's the matter? Never heard of a wizard's duel, I suppose?"

"Of course he has," said Ron, obviously lying. "I'm his second, who's yours?"

"Crabbe," he said after a pause. "Midnight, all right? We'll meet you in the trophy room, it's always unlocked."

When Draco had gone away from the two, Nicole walked up to them.

"You know he's just messing with you, right?" Nicole said. "You ain't seriously going through with this, are you?"

Harry tried to speak, before Ron interrupted him. "Who asked you?"

"I'm just saying," Nicole continued. "Draco obviously wants Harry down, and he has more experience so…"

"Now you're on first name basis with him?" Ron questioned.

"Ron…" Harry said.

"No, that boy is a stuck-up liar and a bully," said Ron. "He needs to be taught a lesson."

"I'm not saying I disagree," Nicole said. "But Harry could get seriously hurt, I'm just looking out for him."

"We can't let him get away with these things!" Ron continued. "You don't understand because you're a Slytherin!"

"I'm leaving," Nicole said. "If you don't want my help, fine! I'll go away. And Harry, you may want to reconsider your friend choice."

Nicole meant that. Between this and the flying lesson, it didn't seem like Ron really cared that much about Harry. Or maybe he just had a bias against Slytherins like Draco did with Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs. She didn't know.

The rest of day was just as weird as ever. They had Herbology with the Hufflepuffs before going to bed. Nicole had a plan to stop the duel, even if she had to stay up all night to do it.

"Are you not going to bed yet?" Lily asked.

"I'm not tired," Nicole said.

"After the day you've had?" Lily questioned. "I don't believe that."

"Yeah, you should go to bed," said Daphne Greengrass. "My mum tells me it's not good to stay up too long. My sister does it all the time."

"I'll go to bed when I want to!" Nicole said. "I'll be in there by midnight."

"Good," Lily said. "I'll wait for you there."

Nicole sat down and waited for Draco and Crabbe to leave their dorm. As the hours passed by as she waited.

And waited.

And waited.

And waited.

It was one hour past midnight. Nicole knew now what Draco's plan was. He wasn't going to break Harry's bones or kill him. He was going to get him expelled after staying up late.

So what do you think? Hope it's enough for you!
