Alrighty, here's another long awaited chapter for Redd and Mia's backstory. I originally had this one VERY different, but this one went through a major overhaul unlike the previous chapter, so this should hopefully be more enjoyable. ;)

I do wanna give a big shoutout to DreadAngel for leaving a review and giving me constructive criticism so I can work on making my stories better. I may go ahead and update the previous chapter someday so I can make some changes based off of his suggestions.

But let me not delay any longer. Here's the second chapter for Redd and Mia during their childhood. Enjoy! :D

*Mia's POV*

When it comes to school, me and Redd are, uh... what Mommy calls "very reliant." I don't know what that means, but I know it must be a good thing, so I'm gonna pretend it means we do very good!

We don't have the same classes, and when we get homework, we sometimes work on it together. If it's the same subject. We just work on our own if not.

But me and Redd are very smart little squids! We like to get our work done! Mommy and Daddy are proud of us when we do! It makes me happy to see them happy.

Me and the rest of my classmates were lined up so we can go to the cafeteria and eat lunch. Maybe I'll see Redd there. I only ever see Redd in school during lunch when we're at school.

After I got my lunch order, I walked around the tables to see if I can find Redd, holding my tray with my two hands that's holding my lunch. There's this one table that we always sit at every day, and we made it our favorite spot! We need this time to be with each other.

There he is!

Redd is at the table, looking over at me and waving. His lunch tray was already sat down, and his hat was off, too. Well, that's because our school doesn't allow hats. Which kinda bums me...

But it doesn't matter. Seeing my twin brother with a hat is a normal thing, but it still excites me to see him with one, or not!

"Redd!" I cheer as I walk to the table. I sit down across from him, as I set my tray down too.

"Hi, Mia!" Redd says as he smiles, "What did you get for lunch?"

"I got this small burger, and it came with extra french fries!" I giggled as I show my brother what's on my tray. I also had this small pack of carrots, and chocolate milk! But I mean the main lunch!

There's only four choices each day. Some of it being the same.

"How about you?" I ask Redd the same question.

"Pizza. And I also got this banana muffin snack, too!" Redd said, "Oh yeah, and I just remembered! I got this for you, Mia."

As Redd shows me the lunch on his tray, he hands me another muffin snack. But this one was blueberry. I smile as I look at it. It made me lick my lips.

"Aww, a blueberry muffin? Thank you, Redd! You're the best!" I thank.

"I know you prefer blueberry and strawberry over banana, so I decided to get this blueberry one for you!" Redd spoke. I show a big smile. It's true, I don't really like banana flavored foods unlike he does.

But yum yum! I always love a sweet treat!

I then glance over at Redd's lunch again, as I remembered he got pizza.

"Redd, I wanna ask why you always get pizza?" I ask, "Whenever lunch arrives, you always get that, a burger, or a PB&J. You don't go for any other food often."

"I know, but you know how much I love pizza!" Redd says. I shake my head uncomfortably.

"Not me. For the school's, at least." I quickly say. I do not like the type of pizza they serve in school. It doesn't taste like real pizza. It almost tastes like... cardboard? Eww. I don't wanna eat cardboard, so that's why I don't have that for lunch.

"Yeah, it's not the best." Redd tags along, understanding what I mean. I'm glad he can agree with me on that.

"The lunches at school aren't the same than what we have at home," Redd continues, "But at least we have something to eat, right?"

"Yeah!" I say with a nod. Me and my brother smile and nod, knowing we are right about what we said. We don't hate the lunches. They're fine, but it just doesn't work with me, as I tried many other foods before at different places. I still aim to try anything new, and as much as I can learn about.

But let's dig in, I'm hungry!

Me and Redd begin to eat our lunches. I wanna eat the muffin so badly, but I know Redd would try to stop me. Mommy and Daddy would do the same. The sweetness of muffins is just too much!

Oh, well. At least the burger is good. The french fries could be better, though. Maybe cook them a little bit longer.

"How is class so far, Mia?" Redd asks me. I swallow another bite of my burger, and look at my brother.

"It's going really good so far! How is yours?" I ask him that as well after I gave my own answer.

"Same! I really enjoy going back!" Redd says.

"Mhm! But I really like to be at home with you, and Mommy and Daddy." I continue.

"Me too. I do wish we can be in the same class together, but we have our friends to keep us company!" Redd responds. He turns over to one direction, and I look over in the direction he's looking at, and we can see some of the friends that both of us made.

Yes. We have them so we can't be lonely. It's not so bad after all.

Redd and I continue to talk about how our school days last week went. And we also talked about our fun time we had at home! Our game of tag was fun. We could've played for hours! Redd is a good runner, so it's a bit on both sides for this.

Maybe I'll find Redd again on the playground when it's recess time, so we can play hide-and-seek! It's more fun there than at home, because there's more room to run around and find some place to hide.

I need to ask.

"Hey, Redd?" I look up at him.

"Mm?" Redd hums as he finishes almost the whole pizza, leaving the crust behind. He's like Daddy when he eats that whole slice.

"If our classes meet up together at recess, do you wanna play hide-and-seek with me and my friends?" I ask.

"Booyah! Yay, I'd love to!" Redd cheers.

"Woomy!" I cheer along, as we put our hands in the air, showing we are very excited. Yay! I can't wait! This is gonna be so much fun!

After I finish my burger, I take another sip of my chocolate milk, then I open the muffin packet that Redd gave me. I might have the carrots later on, or I might leave them behind like Redd would do.

I take a huge bite. Mmm, it's so good! The blueberry flavor of the muffin tastes delicious. It's almost like the real thing!

Or maybe it is, unlike the actual lunches our school gives to us.

I know it's gonna be a while until recess. But I really wanna savor this moment and finish this muffin. It does make me question how Redd enjoys the banana flavored muffin, but he likes his own things that I don't like. And same thing if I like something that he doesn't like, or isn't much into.

We may be twins, but we're not like clones!

I finally finish the muffin, and wipe the crumbs off of my lips. That tasted so good! I'm happy that Redd got it for me!

"Gee, you finished that already? I'm not even halfway done!" Redd complains, showing his own muffin that is only halfway done.

"I do have a love for muffins," I say, "And also cakes, and ice cream, and sprinkles, and-a-and brownies-"

"Me too! Those sweets sure are good!" Redd chimes in, showing a big smile. I giggle during when he interrupted. I didn't mind it. My sentence wasn't too important, but it did show my love for sugary treats.

I love them! I really love them!

"Okay, squids and kids, a few more minutes before it's time to go back to class!" One teacher calls out.

"Okay!" Me and Redd say at the same time so we can respond. But the cafeteria was so loud with everyone else speaking, the teachers cannot hear us. Oh well, at least we can hear each other.

Today is going to be a fun school day, and we just got back from it.

*later...*

School has finally ended. We continued the recent schoolwork we were doing, then finally headed to recess! As I remembered, I met up with Redd, and we were playing hide-and-seek for the whole time.

My friends and his friends were also having a lot of fun when they wanted to join in. But it did have to come to an end. At least it was fun! And I wanna do it again!

We went through one last assignment, but we were off on homework for today. On Mondays, we usually don't have homework. So it gives me and Redd some time to relax and have some more fun.

We walk back home, because it only takes about a few minutes each day. Our elementary school isn't too far from where we live. If it did, though, Daddy would've had us on a bus to get to school.

Me and Redd finally arrive home. Redd opens the door, and lets me walk in first before he goes in as well, and closes the door behind him. Redd is so nice! I'm happy that he always does this.

"We're home!" Me and Redd say at the same time. Soon, Mommy and Daddy come to us when we called over. Me and my brother run over to our parents, and we gave them a big hug.

"It's always great to hear that." Mommy says in her soft voice.

"How was school, my little munchkins?" Daddy asks.

"Good!" Me and Redd say at the same time once again. We pull away from the hug, and look at our parents with big, big smiles!

"Ha ha, I know you two always have a good day. I have no need to worry about that for you two." Daddy says.

"No homework today?" Mommy asks her own question. Usually, she and Daddy always ask that, even though we don't get homework on these days. But we still say the same response each time.

"No!" Me and Redd give our same response.

"Hee hee, lovely." Mommy giggled.

"We might have something special planned for today, so be on the lookout, squiddos." Daddy reminds.

"You got it, Daddy!" Redd cheers.

"Ookay!" I say as well. We give Mommy and Daddy one last hug, then we decide to head to my brother's room so we can decide what we wanna do today. It always feels like we can do our fun activities for a long, long time!

It's always a fun day at school, but it's also a fun day we can have at home. And I have Mommy, Daddy, and Redd to thank for that!

A/N: Alrighty, and that's that. Sorry it was a little on the short side and that it may seem like filler, but I did my best to add a little bit of lore to their present selves. Took a while to get what I wanted to make, but it was worth it in the end.

I might take a break so I can finish another story first, but I will be back to work on this, too, so don't fret. ;)

For those who were wondering what the original second chapter was about when I made a rough draft on Wattpad (when I had Wattpad), well... basically, it was gonna be in the cafeteria once again, but Redd becomes a clown about sharing, he and Mia have a small fight, they get in trouble, they head home, and their parents punish them.

Yeah. You can see why I wanted to overhaul this chapter. :/
