When Kelly along with her friends where in the attic they found a magical cook book now their lives are filled with mystery's as they try to unlock the books spells while trying to save Kelly's grand mother ,but are they truly alone on their journey ? or are the three protectors aided by some one else ?

1. Chapter 1

in a simple two stored house in the dead of night a strange golden glow was released coming from the attic . the eery sound of a crow was heard for a few moments . inside the house's attic there where a lot of strange boxes along with other diferent things . but in one of the boxes there was a mysterious golden glow that was where the respective glow was coming from .

''it's time !'' a mysterious voice that came from a young girl around the age of twelve years old had spoken while the box where the strange glow was coming .

''butter !'' she continued now her being at a tabel morning was already present .

''butter !'' a second girl that was around the same age responded handing in the butter to the other girl .

''egg!'' the first girl said while the second girl hand the egg to her .

''egg'' she responded puting the egg inside the bawl .

''chocolate ?'' the girl asked but the second girl was a bit figiting after hearing this so the first girl asked for the ingridient again reciving no answere that is till a third girl hand in a small jar that was made of plastic and had a red conter measure . the chocolate being inside .

''chocolate !'' the third young girl said with a calm tone she had her eyes closed and was liking her fingers .

''Darbie !'' her friends spoke at the same time earning her attention .

the said girl was the same age as her friends . she had red hair . her cloths being consistant of a green white striped t shirt .

her friends where wearing diferent cloths on the left the girl who had brown hair was wearing a red t shirt . while the girl on the right was wearing a blue shirt on top of a white shirt pimbels of diferent colors being around .

the other girl was smiling at her red haird friend her hair was light brown while her eyes where similar in color .

she was not wearing an accesory unlike Darbie who had two diferent bracelets on her right arm while the other girl had one around her wrist .

the girls had the table ocupide by diferent ingridients that were still in being used by them since they where not done .

''we are cooking not contaminating '' the first girl told her friend who was trying to reach for the roll of paper while the third girl was already about to poure the chocolate in to the yellow cup that was quite big .

while saying that the first girl was smiling her eyes as well as her friends being closed .

''i was trying just chocolate quality control ''Darbie told her friends with a small inocent tone wanting to be honest with her motives . the third girl turned her head deciding to gaze at Darbie with out saying a word though a small smile was present on her face .

''please chocolate is chocolate ''the first girl said not really beliving Darbie who said that showing she saw through her act .

the third girl who was now taking care of the chocolate while being busy with the mixing turned towards her friends .

''not true there are all kinds of chocolate 'the girl started to speak while her friends where now paying attention .though Darbie was liking the chocolate off her fingers showing she did not paied much attention since her eyes where closed . the girl contined while she did not made eye contact having her eyes lowered to the bawl wanting to be carfule .

and for this recepy we needed to be eighty precent cake out from Belgia '' the girl spoke showing quite the knowlege she had her eyes locked twoards her friends while still mixing the chocolate .

''wow that is precise '' the first girl responded being surprised . Darbie simply listened being quiet the two girls where having their heads turned towards her friend bought observing that she was mixing the chocolate .

''grandma told me to pay attention to the details ''the third girl told her friends with a calm but also very knowlegeable tone .

''now she hardily says anything !''the girl continued showing that she was worried and a bit upset she was eying the bawl and not her friends a sad expresion being present for a few moments on her face .

right away her friends came closer to her with Darbie touching her right shoulder bought understanding what their friend was going trough .

the two silently observed her wanting to send their suport as well as the fact that they where understanding .

Darbie had her eyes closed while the first girl simply was quiet .

''it's ok ,i just wish that i had the old grandma back '' the girl told her friends snaping out from her small depresion .

''well having her favorite cooking companion cooking her a bunch of brownies for her birth day ,might just be the magic she needs to feel better '' the first girl said trying to make her friend feel a bit better a small smile was present on her face she as well as Darbie who was silent helped their friend out since she was about to pure the cream out from the yellow cup .

''i want the brownies to be perfect '' the girl said taking the plate and being ready to put it in the oven . her friends where watching being confident in their friend .

''since i never cooked for her before '' she told her friends being excited as well as worried about not wanting to faile .

''they are going to be perfect '' Darbie said having no doubt that there will be failer after what the three of them had did . the group remained in silance for a few moments when a ring tone had come out geting their attention .

''Charlote '' the girls said in unisom showing that they did not sound happy about that .

they turned around walking to the tabel where they picked their phones up looking at the girl who just ring toned them .

''ladies congradulations if you are reciving this mesage this means you don't really stink and you might actually make the team ' a girl with a mean attitude said she was wearing a basket ball sports outfit . her hair was blond and was tied up in a pony taile around her forhead a white head band was present . her eyes where brown . in her hands a basket ball was present as well .

being hold in her hands .

''see you tommorrow ,by the way doubel dribels are lame and when in doubt ?'' the girl continued showing a attitude that was not very friendly though it was not really bad even if it was about to be desierable .

''pass the ball out '' the three girls said in unisome closing their phones and placing them down . they where not very happy after hearing the voice call from Charlote .

''pass on her ''the girl said to her friends having a bit of a mean attitude her eyes actually for a few moments where a bit large than normal and the pupile was cast to the lower side this showed she was quite upset about this .

''not the ball !'' she continued showing she really did not cared about the mean girl and wanted to see her get a bit hurt .

''she's a littel much !'' the first girl said with a calm tone showing she was not very happy just as her friends where not . ''a littel ''Darbie said being a bit sarcastic she was eying twoards her friends her pupiles moving to the far right of the eyes .

''she is not even captain yet ''Darbie continued when her friend decided to cut in .

''tehnically she hasn't even made the team yet '' she told the two girls being honest facing them though she more like faced the first girl than Darbie .

''and neither will we if we wont practice '' the first girl said to her friends earning a look from them .''holly banana pants now we barely practiced ''she contined now starting to worry she was moving her hands resting them on the table .

''we are dead that is it we are done for'' the anxiety was showing it self since the girl was starting to panick already thinking about the worst case scenario .

right as her friends where about to say something the girl who was in the middel had a strange feeling and when she as well as her friends overheard something strange as a sniffing sound that came from a boy that was no older than 9 years old who was doing the sniffing .

they turned around with the girl who was in the middel having a not very happy face .

the said boy had brown hair like his older sister he had pimbels on his face like Darbie he was wearing a blue shirt .

''put your fingers ,and face where we can see them '' Darbie said with a tone showing she was not happy the other two girls showing the same reaction with the first being very unhappy while the secong girl simply sent a silent warning to the boy showing she was not happy .

''like this '' the boy said having a mischivious expresion he was moving his hands around clearly wanting to show the girls what he wanted to do and they where not happy about that .

the two girls gasped not wanting to see their brownies being ruined by the boy .

''don't you dare !'' the third girl said with a serios tone not wanting to see the boy ruine their hard work .

''or what ?''the boy asked in a tone showing he was not scared making the girls to react showing they where not joking .

right away the first girl who was annoyed wanted to nab her brother who sensing the danger runed out but not before draging the plate with him making it fall down and ruine the brownie mix

''no don't '' the two girls said in unisome not liking that their hard work had been ruined a chair was nocked over and Buddie simply runned with the girls going after him wanting to teach him a lesson .

''buddie ''his sister called him out starting to chase after him with her friend Darbie went with them but she hit her self on the chair and groaned a bit before continuing .

''buddie ''his sister called him out again the group going afte him on the stairs having a laundry basket being nocked over by him in order to stop them though it was not good enoough since they where still on his trail .

''buddie !''the girl called her brother again still going after him when they where scared by him because of a bunch of soccer balls that fell from the attic .

the girls made their way quite easily with buddy sister groaning in annoyance the destination being the attic the three climed there hoping to find the littel troubel maker .

once they where at the door buddy's sister took a look around calling him out .

''buddy ? you are in a bound zone while braking parent code and officially so am i '' the girl said with a bit of a raised tone when she lowerd it realising that she had made the same mistake . bought her and Darbie where not very found of the attic since they considerd it to be creepy and scary .

''uh i see why ?'' the third girl said not feeling very happy or good about the fact that they where in the attic .''it;s creepy ,is anybody else creeped out by this ''the girl said starting to have a fear panick attack ''just me ?'' she said seeing that her friends where silent and not very scared .

''ok ,roler scate ?'' she continued realising that she was the only one right away when she saw Darbie being about to move not wanting to see her geting hurt she warned her . buddies sister was now looking at bought Darbie and her second friend seeing that her eyes where lowered to the ground while her arms where a bit lowerd her hands being clentch in to fists .

Daribe was calm but she responded after being warned .

''close one ''she said baking her foot from the roler scate .right away a sneaze was heard geting the girls attention making them noticed that the culprit they where searching for was hidden behind one of the boxes .

''shoot'' Buddie spoke not liking that he gave himself away in a silly manner

the three girls who saw one of the boxes moving wanted to nab the boy .

''gotcha '' his sister shouted wanting to grab him only for buddie to move since he was decisive to run away he trew the boxes scaring the three girls who screamed for a few seconds while buddie simply bolted away from the attic .

''no you don't ''he told them while they where still desorianted since they had been scared by his sudden action with the boxes .

after geting their bearings for a bit the first girl who was in the middel of the trio looked inside one of the boxes observing with a very intrigued and curios look at what was inside the box since among many diferent cooking ustensiles there was a strange black book that had a bizar logo with the shape of a fork ,spoon and a knive all three stuck toghether .

''holy banana pants !''the girl exclaimed right away she leaned a bit over moving her hands twoards the book that was in the box ,taking it from there .

''what is it ?'' the other girl asked being curios at what her friend had found .

''it's a cook book '' the first girl said answering them while staring at the strange said book .

her friends joined her wanting to have a closer look since she opened the book wanting to see the contents that where within the book .

on a page there was a strange recipy ingridients being written in ink while a picture of a strange fruit that looked like a bud around it being two banana's . on the top there was a paper while on the right was a leaf that was covering something .

the bottome was coverd with a band . on the second page was a picture with three young girls while around the said picture that had them was a note that had diferent ingridients .

the strange girls that where present where around the same age as the curent trio .

the girl on the left had blond wavy locks and was wearing a maroon shirt that had squares on it .

the girl in the middel that was looking very similar to the girl who was the leader of the curent trio had blond hair .she was wearing a blue white striped sqared shirt with a white collar .

the last girl who had dark skin and dark hair that was aranged to the back of the head was wearing a simple brown shirt .the three strange girls where smiling showing that they where quite happy .

''that's my grandma ?''the girl exclaimed geting her friends attention .

''which one is she ?''Darbie asked with a curios tone . the girl pointed out with her finger .

''the one in the middel '' she responded when the third girl asked since she was curious about her friend grandmother's friends .

''who where the other two girls ?'' at that question bought Darbie and the girl who sat in the middel had no answere .

''i don't know but i bet they where my grandma's Darbie and Hannah '' the girl said while looking at her friends .she let out a sigh showing she was happy at the thought .

right away the girl flipped through a page when she curiosly looked along with Darbie and Hannah at the book observing the strange recipies that where in there .

''grandma and i never made any of these recipies '' she told her friends now starting to have a wierd feeling while looking at the book since she knew this was definitly new to her .

''chippeer chocolate chip cookies 'the girl continued fliping through a difrent page 'lazy lazzania' at that Hanna smiled since she thought the name was funny .when a diferent page was flipped a name of a recipy showed up ' shut them up ,short cake '' the girl said being a bit odded out by this since she never heard of such recipies before till she and her friends found the book that was in their friend's hands .

''wierd names ,right ?''she continued with a funny expresion her tone showing that . bought Darbie and Hannah who straingely agreed looked twoards their friend .

''some one can call their cake what ever they want too as long as it's cake ,and i get to eat it ''Darbie said wanting to defend the recipie from being insulted her friends watched at her silently seeing that she was quite serios .though when they saw Darbie having a dreamy sigh since she wanted to eat cake they laughed since it was funny .

the three girls shared a laugh till their phones ringed again and knowing who it was the trio was again not happy about that .

''charlote ''they answere in unisome .right away Hannah was starting to get anxios again that was when her friend who gave her a look decided to give her some pep talk so as to take away some of her worries .

''breath Hannah we are going to practice '' the girl said having littel to no worry .Darbie who looked at her asked since she wandered about the birthday cake that they where supose to make for their friend's grandma .

''what about the birthday desert ?'' a shrugged was given when the girl spoke being honest .

''it's ruined !''she did not liked that but there was a fact and there was littel to do in order to change that .

''no buddie's browny desater ,was a happy accident a sign ''Darbie was while Hannah still spoke looked at her having a bit of a doubt at the fact that what had happen was a happy accident though she did not chose to corect her friend there .

''you are right this is a sign i am supose to bake one of grandma's secret recipies ''the girl spoke having a very great ideea and was also agreeing with Hannah she was moving her left hand around for a few moments when she stopped ,deciding to do just that meaning trying to bake something from the strange book that the three had just found .

she pointed at the recipy that had the titel with 'the shut them up short cake '

''shut them up short cake ?'' she asked while looking at Darbie who was very excited as Hannah since she was smiling even if a littel at the ideea .

''done 'she continued when Darbie who was very excited jumped a bit in joy .

''we are going to need cedronian vannila ? do you have something like this ?'' Hannah asked since this was a strange ingridient to have .

''no ' the girl said when she let a small gasp after thinking about something coming up with an ideea 'but i bet i know who dose ?'' she continued having a plan in mind .

right away the three girls left the attic going out from the house and in the city since they had a destination in mind .

in a shop a woman around the age of fifties was standing at a shelv aranging jars that had diferent spices and hearbs she was about to put a jar that had a strange hearb inside when the bell to the door was heard when it was open and the three girls walked inside the small shop .

the woman had her attention cought when she saw just who it was and she was very excited to see the three girls .

''Kelly queen ?'' the woman shouted when she saw the girl who was named Kelly .

Kelly was smiling being the first to enter the shop while Hannah and Darbie who where behind her remained silent .

''long time no see come in '' the woman who was straingely similar to the young girl that Kelly and her friends saw in the strange cook book that had been found in the attic shouted being quite excited to see the three ,the woman now had a pudgy face and she was a bit robust as well .

''eat ,jake made empanada's ,try them and tell me that mine aren't better than his '' the woman told the trio talking about some one who was working for her ,continuing with teling the girls about a dish that the two made only to asked them to try the said dish in order to decide which was better since the woman was a bit competetive not liking competition very much .

''there is no way that any empanada's as better than Mama p's '' Kelly said being honest since she had tasted them ocasionally .Hannah silently agreed while Darbie had some doubts .

''what are you saying that my empanada's are not better than mama p's well you have to try some for your selves then since i can't let that stand since as a friend i feel like you just hurt my felings '' a teenager who was coming out from the kitchen spoke geting the attention of the four ladies . he was of the same ancestry as mama p since bought where afro americans .

Jake had short hair that had a bit of an afro style his eyes where brown ,

he was wearing a violet shirt with black striped squears .

''now now jake don't be upset just because i made a coment i mean i did not meant anything much by it you know ,since i know you are a great cook '' mama p said to him her and the girls who felt a bit akward after saying that now where looking at him .

''sorry jake we did not meant to say that ''Kelly said feeling a bit embarest .

''yeah but you have to admit Kelly has a point since we did tasted empanada's before and they are the best since mama p is making them ''Darbie said while her eyes where darting a bit all over she had a precise tone though she had a small dreamy face when she rembered the dish that the woman made . said woman simply smiled since she felt apreciated . Jake was not bothered by the coments form his friends since he knew they had a point but he knew he was about to blow them away with his own recipy if they wanted to give it a try .

''well maybe if we taste yours we can see who is better so that there will not be any problem if that is alright with you ''Hannah shily asked since she came with the ideea her friends agreed right away since they did not wished to upset jake because of their coments .

''you mean it ,well then go ahead since i have some on this tray''Jake responded with a bit enthusiasm since he was glad for having his friends be ready to taste something he made .

mama p was simply smiling enjoying seeing the small scene since she was a woman who had faith in jake and wanted to see what her student could do .

right away the three girl took three empanada's and after taking the first bite they where very amazed at how good it tasted .

''these are better than mama p's !''Kelly said having no doubt her eyes where wide while her face was in shock Hannah who was eating silently gave a nod agreeing .

''ha well don't tell her now give me the break down Kell 'Jake said making a sound gesture since he showed he was better than mama p continuing to talk . he wanted to know how good he did so he asked his friends who where still eating his desert .

Darbie who was silent glanced at Kelly along side Hannah who was about to take a nother bite bought wanting to hear what Kelly was going to say .

''ok i taste chiken 'a nod in agrement followed by a hum was given by jake showing that Kelly was corect in guessing the first ingridient .'mushrooms ,sorano' Kelly continued earning a nod as well as a positive and surprised expresion from jake after hearing that seeing how Kelly managed to guessed an ingridient that most would had probably over look .

'ohh and teragon ''Kelly continued being very sure though Jake had a diferent expresion showing that it was not quite it but close . in the back Hannah at first had a smile being glad that her friend guessed the ingridients right but then a small disapointed frown replaced her curent expresion .

''no ! not teragan it's roasted qumen ?''Kelly said after trying again since she still felt the taste .

Jake smiled being proud of Kelly for guessing his small quiz that he gave to her .

''nice !''he continued being honst ,Hannah felt the same even if she was silent since she had a small smile .

''cooking is in my blood ''kelly said feeling very proud of that Hannah who overheard her felt compelled to agree with her long time best friend when she realised why the three where in the shop in the first place .

''ahm hate to break up this littel moment of a cooking showdown but we have a vanilla search !'' Hannah said wanting to interupt the two Darbie and Kelly where loooking at her .

''oh how can i help ?'' jake asked wanting to give a landing hand to his friends .

''cedronian vanilla ?''Kelly asked with out really thinking about the concequinces of her words since she did not thought that something that was a bit on the odd side should had been keept a secret betwin her friends .

jake had a wierd face since he never even heard of such a spice in his life .

''you stumped me ,' Jake told the girls shaking his head trying to wrap his mind around this but he could not have an answere so he responded wanting to be honest .' i don't think such an ingridient even exists ''Jake said but mama p cut in right way after hearing the name of the ingridient .

''cedronian ? ' she said geting the girls attention who where facing her . they did not wanted to tell the woman what they where up too but they where abel to tell that something was not right with the woman when she asked them that ,even jake was observing being very confused and lost not geting what was going on .

'so what are you baking ?''mama p asked while handing the jar that contained the cedronian vanilla Kelly was staring at the jar in small surprise seeing a very strange brown spice that she had never seen before .

bought Hannah and Darbie where also shocked when a few moments ago where simply trying to see if their friend was abel to help them out now though the two noticed that something was not right seeing how mama p knew about the ingridient that they where searching .

''short cake for my grandma ''Kelly said earning a gasp from mama p who was very surprised seeing how sweet and thoughtule Kelly was doing something like this for her grandmother who was at a time an old time best friend .

''aww so thoughtule of you , it is unacaning how much you are becoming like your grandmother ''mama p said to Kelly while refering at her grandmother .

Kelly was silent showing she was upset since she did not liked what had happen to her grandmother .

''i wished i was more like her ''Kelly said wanting to some what replace what her grandmother was going through .mama p gave Kelly a glance showing she was slightly worried for her .after hearing her words .

''so how much for the vanilla ?''Kelly asked wanting to pay for it since she did not wanted to have a tab at the restaurant where one of the most favorite women in the town was working .

''no no it's on the house ''mama p said puting her hands up front wanting to tell as well as show the girls that there was no problem .

''thank you ?''Kelly smiled in apreciation since she felt greatfule for the kind gesture .

''for your grandma's birth day !'' mama p said sounding quite misteryous right away Kelly had a shocked face she turned around just as she was about to leave since she wanted to know how the woman knew about that let alone how she even knew her grandmother to begin with .

''wait how did you know it's my grandma's birth day ?'' Kelly asked but straingely mama p simply vanished the girls where trying to find her but there was no sign of her as if the woman had simply vanish from their sight before their very eyes

Hannah had a very bad feeling her instincts telling her that something was not right she was starting to feel goose bumps on her skin ,even Kelly was worried and had a slight nervouse attitude as if something was not right .

Darbie was the only one who was calm even if she was silent .

''come on we got to go ''Hannah said while trying to keep her cool and not show she was actually scared by what just had happen ,Kelly was still in shock not understanding what just happen or even why or even better how .

the girls silently left the shop being freaked out while the girls where walking away the same crow that had been crowing the other night was watching the girls from above the wooden poste .it took flight right away no explination being given as to why that even happening .

while the girls where walking to the queens house they were passing an old house that was built in a victorian style a steal fence was seen by the trio while on one of the stone walls a number that was carved on a dark plate was abel to be seen .

'' i hate this short cut !'' Hannah said already starting to have a panick attack because of a very scary woman who was living in the said house .

''is she siting on the porch being creepy ?''Darbie said but she more like asked being a bit scared Hannah turned her face twoards her friend now freaking out even more Kelly reacted the same but she decided to remain calm and rational rather than let some silly fears take over her mind .

''i m not going to look ''Hannah said with a mellow scared tone not wanting to look at the woman or where she was since to her she was scary .

''fine i will look '' Kelly said wanting to reasure her scared friend the three still keept walking when Kelly looked wanting to see the scary woman though there was no sign of her .

''no we are good ''Kelly told her friends who sighed in relif continuing to walk that is when suddenly the woman that they where scared of suddenly came out making the girls jump and scream in fright since they saw the said woman coming behind a bush with a pair of scisors in her hand.

the woman looked exactly like in the picture that Hannah Darbie and Kelly found while looking through the strange book that had been found in the attic .the diference now was that the said woman had gray hair .she was wearing a sweater and brown jeans

Hannah had a very shoking panick attack since she put her hand over her heart since it was racing like crazy after being scared like that .

Darbie even if she had been scared decided to play this in a cool way so she pretended not to be scared same with Kally even if the three did screamed at the mere sight of the woman who screamed scary .

''hy miss Silvers ''Kelly greated the woman who was looking at the three girls Hannah was still trying to get her bearings back that being the reason for her gasping and not saying a word .

''nice headge ''Kelly said trying to be nice to the woman not wanting something bad to happen to them .

''it's a topiery '' the woman simply said not being friendly

''ok ''Kelly said right away agreing with the creepy scary woman deciding to bolt right away from her home ,Darbie was the first to lead since she was so wanting to not see the woman again if ever Hanna simply had a scared face but decided to not let it be showed ,while Kelly had the same reaction since she was walking next to Darbie geting the mesage loud and clear which was for them to beat it .

the small problem was that Hannah was so scared that she paralised simply staring at miss Silvers with her expresion unchanged .right away bought Kelly and Darbie draged Hannah away .

''let's go ''Kelly said to Hanna hurrying with Darbie the two took her by the hands and simply draged her away being scared out of their minds by the old woman who was just looking at them not doing anything . things where not good since it was even worst because of the same crow that was spying on them was crowing leting a very eery scenary to the three scared girls .

right after the girls where gone miss silvers watched them being a bit intrigued by what had happen . the girls runned all the way to Kelly's home not wanting to ever talk about that again once they enter in the house they went to the attic from where they took the book they found ,next returning to the kitchen again to make the cake that they had found .

''add 1 cup of flour '' Kelly said to Hanna while Darbie, was pretending to practice her shoots. the cooking book was on a small stall being open . while the ingridients where on the tabel .

''1 cup of flower coming up ''Hanna said doing just that .

''nailed it !'Darbie shouted while cheering for her suces she right away put her hand over her mouth petending to have a mike in her hand .

''Darbie you just trash one score what are you going to do next ?'' she said changing the tone of her voice pretening that she was taking an interview .

''help Hannah and Kelly bake '' Hannah who was working told her refering to herself in third person she was calm now though her eyes where slowely closed .

''i thought that i was going to be the official taster 'Darbie interjected teling the girls her opinion about what she thought she wanted to do .Hannah was looking at her friend smiling since this was funny to her . Kell was watching the book wanting to make sure nothing was going to go wrong .

''but i guess if you want me to do everything '' Darbie spoke still not changing her high pitched tone pretending to exagerate a bit showing she was having fun .

''just add 1 tea spoon of cedronian vanilla ''Kelly told Hannah handing over the jar where the spice was . Darbie was shaking the spoon while looking at Hannah who was doing the same bought where smiling showing they where having fun .

''hit me ''Darbie told Hanna in an amused tone . her friend did that puting 1 tea spoon of cedronian vanilla . the cedronian spice was added to the mixed of the batch that was going to be the cake . Kelly was starting to mix the cream for a few good minutes . when she was done she placed the cream in the cake tray . right after the tray was placed in the oven .

the door being closed .

the girls waited almost 45 minutes but when the cake was done they took it out from the oven and placed it on the table starting to decorating it with the remaning ingridients .

Darbie who had her head placed very close was smiling hungerly since she wanted to eat the cake since it smelled as well as looked very delicious .

Hanna who was a bit in the back was looking at the book observing the recipy .

''and well i m restraining my self in behalf of your grandma's birthday ''Darbie told Kelly admiting that she at least was trying to restrain herself seeing as this was special to their friend .Kelly simply smiled accepting Darbies words despite knowing her appetite .

''uh guys !''Hannah who had found something while reaserching the recipy came to her friends being a bit worried about something .

the two girls turned twoards her now wanting to know what was wrong with their friend .

in the evening the cake that had been cut remained where it was while the queen familiy had dinner .

''i was a littel concerned when the smoke detector went off but ,dinner tasted great dad ''Kelly spoke refering to the littel incident . the dad simply smiled feeling a bit embarest by that small misshap though he was glad that things worked out in the end .

''that's because mom went and broght take out after dad burned the chiken ''Buddie who was helping his sister spoke stoping a few feet from their father the man had his mouth open not beliving that his own son trew him under the buss like that .

he was upset while their mother was simply amused by the whole thing . Buddy was walking to the sink while Kally wanted to bring the cake to the table .

''i forgot to spray the pan'' the dad said simply defending himself ,''or turn off the oven '' his wife told him not making things better for him . he watched her not expecting that from his wife .

''shut up buddy ?''Kelly told him being upest with him for what he has done now it was even worst since he even said something like this with out littel care . their grandmother was observing this silently but she was upset over the whole thing even if she was unable to talk .

Kelly who felt bad for the whole thing sat down looking at her grandmother .

''i even made the recipy from your old cook book that i found in the attic '' right away the grandmother had a serios surprised expresion her light brwon eyes being open a bit wide showing surprise . ''shut them up short cake '' Kelly's grand mother was even more shocked than a few moments earlier after hearing about the cook book that was found in the attic .

the shock was so great that the woman had her mouth half open when she decided to talk .

''Kelly no ,what did you do '' the woman asked Kelly who had a momentary shock not answering what she did or how did she even found the book to begin with .

''grandma you are talking '' Kelly said being very surprised as well as scared seeing her grandmother so worried .

''listen to me i need you to trust your instinct trust your instinct ''the woman told her granddauther who was listening still being worried she would had liked to keep talking but suddenly she was unabel to form any shape of words .

Kelly at first called her out wanting to understand what was going on but then she got worried seeing that she did not talked again so Kelly tried to call her again but to no availe since the woman was unable to hear her though she did showed she was not happy that she could not finish what she had began since she knew something and was now stopped from saying what ever that was .

in the end Kelly realised that what ever her grandmother warned her about and wanted to continue telling her was not going to happen so she silenty accepted that .

geting up from the tabel she went to her room where after changing to go to bed she decided to study the book wanting to know what was special about it hoping to find clues about how she could help her grandmother out .

''trust my instincts what dose that mean ?'' Kelly wandered not geting her grandmothers words .

''memory enhancing macarons '' Kelly spoke fliping through a page ,''nighty night noodels '' she continued surprised by the titles of the recipies ,''shut them up short cake '' Kelly said after fliping trough the page looking over it again trying to study it hoping to find a clue .

''my instincts are telling me to go to sleep '' Kelly told to herself still not finding a thing that would had help her out after what her grandmother warned her like that telling her to trust her instincts .

right away Kelly closed the book puting it on the night stand she turned the lights off being ready to go to sleep . but something very strange happen that got her attention making her glance towards her night stand in worry ,that right away turned to scary shock since her expresion was showing that when she saw the book glowing .

right away not wanting to see that she turned her head to the pillow shuting her eyes by force hoping that what she saw was a dream or a nightmare but the glow of the book simply made Kelly aware that this was not a dream she became scared than at first but she wanted to do something for she wanted to make the glowing go away so she stared at the book seeing the three symbols still glowing .

having enough Kelly simply hide under the pillow hoping that the glowing will go away . she stood under for a few moments when thinking about coming out she took her head out from the pillow still having a frighten expresion but when she decided to look at the book again she saw that all was normal .

a small sigh of relif went through her but then questions started to pop up since this really was not making sense to her at all she began to think about this for a few more minutes trying to make sense of things but nothing came to her mind . while Kelly was in thought the same crowing sound was overheard from out side the sound coming from the house of miss Silver .

having enough Kelly simply went to bed thinking that what had happen through most of the day was just wierd so she hoped that things will be better in the morning .

when Kelly fell a sleep the book once more began to glow but unlike before pages where open by themselves recipies being flipped one after another for a minute when stoping at a blank page something very strange happen for on the first page a strange picture that had the shape of a whirpool appared but it was not the only thing for around it the symbol of the sun as well as the moon where present all being alligned perfectly in a triangle .

on the second page a strange picture with a boy that was around the same age as Kelly ,Hannah and Darbie showed up misteryously the boy in question had spiky hair as well as blue eyes a perfect shaped face with six strange wiskers on his face .

the book again fliped through a diferent set of pages and on the first page the same boy appared but on the second one a picture with Kelly appared .right away the book shut it self up leaving a soft glow that for a moment made a small distortion in Kelly's room changing things to a diferent perspective one from where a very important young boy was meant for great things for the world depended on him and his choices . the said boy was sleeping being unaware of what was going on and what was soon meant to go on .

next day once Kelly got up and dressed up for school she had her back pack already put on her back this time around Kelly had a plaine white shirt with a pair of blue white tanned lined shorts .her back pack was pink with black having black stripes around it .

her dad was at the tabel in the kitchen hearing his dauther he glanced at her silently .

''morning dad ''she said while leting out a yawn deciding to continue ''wish me luck today on the try outs today '' she continued being in a very good mood from the start of the morning .

''ok kiddo break a leg out there ''her dad said geting his dauther's attention who was amused by hearing this .''it's not a play dad ''she told him making him realise that .

'right !''he said with a monotone voice but held a bit of seriousness seeing how he messt up

''uh sub way being in a propriate sports while saying ''he told her refering to the fact that this was not a play but basket ball . Kelly simply smiled bieng amused by hearing that from her dad starting to laugh .

her brother came in a few moments later wearing his pj not being to happy or even feeling good for a reason but the two did not noticed that .

''buddy '' their dad called him out but the boy did not respond not because he was rude but rather it was because of something else entierly .

''get a move on you are going to be late'' their dad told him right away Buddie walked to him and started to talk quite loudely while making signs showing he literally was un abel to speak .

''what are you sick ''the man asked when Kelly seeing this being in a very great mood spoke to him wanting to get on his nerves even more .

''aha so i guess i did shut you up '' Buddie was not liking this since he was very mad for he was looking at his siter with an angry face . he began to speak but nothing was coming out though from the way he was moving his mouth he was not happy and wanted to insult his sister .

their dad was watching them not saying a word .

Buddy continued to talk but Kelly stopped playing and realised that her brothrer litterally was unable to speak like their grandmother .

''wait you can't talk at all ?''Kelly asked now having a bad feeling about this right away she had a shocked expresion her eyes open wide after she realised what might have been the cause for this . imidiatly Kelly rembered the recipy that had been used yesterday and realising that it had been the shut them up short cake she had an ever bigger shock since she knew that she gave Hannah a piece while Darbie helped out .

right away Kelly bolted out from her house having a very worried face she was hoping to find Hanna and hope this was just a joke but she was fearing the worst . finding Hannah was not hard since she was waiting for Kelly .

Hannah was wearing the same brown head band but beside that she had a blue white striped shirt .she was looking on her phone that had a purpule design with white flowers around it .

''buddy can't talk ? !''Kelly told Hannah who glanced at her wordlessly at first since Kelly was still speaking continuing ''he ate the short cake and now he can't talk '' Hannah who was now intrigued looked at her best friend with surprise not expecting this in the morning .

'' i think the short cake shut him up ''Kelly ended things short since this was crazy to even consider .now Hannah simply smiled since she did not wish to think her friend was crazy to think about something like this going as far as telling her that a cake shuted her littel brother up .

''right !''she responded thinking that this was all just some freak accident ''right ,right ,buddy was sneazing he was just sick '' Kelly said trying to tell to herself that all had been caused because of a sickness and not because of the cake . Darbie was gesticualting as well moving her hands aroud while Hannah and Kelly where watching her being totally wierded out and lost at the same time .

''couldn't even stop while brushing my theeth ,through a lot of tooth paste ,i m laughing right now but i m actually very scared that something is wrong with me '' Darbie continued showing she was not really enjoying this she stopped by placing her right hand over her mouth hoping to keep it shut .

but she was talking even through her muffelled mouth this was enough to convince Hannah and Kelly that this was really happening .

''ok maybe this might have something to do with the cake ''Hannah said now starting to worry ,Kelly was just watching being very confused and shocked at what was happening .

''Obrien are you chewing gum ?'' Charlotte asked while tilting her head not understanding why the girl was doing that . Darbie was silent for a few moments being placed in the spot like that while Hannah was looking at her being worried that she might be discovered and have their cover blown not that it matterd any way since they were already in trouble after what they did .

''spit it out ''Charlotte said wanting to see the gum out Hannah looked twoard the girl in disbelif not wanting to see Darbie take the gum out since then she was going to start talking again and bring more problems to them than in the begining of the day .

Kelly felt the same way since she was glancing at Darbie since she was worried about what was going to happen once the gum was about to be removed .

''Allison ,Sarah ,Nicole ,Charlotte , the girl made herself be impose since she was picked up ,Kelly ,hearing her name out Kelly was a bit surprised but greatfule for being in the team ,Maddison ,Sophie ,Hannah , at hearing her name Hannah had a small cheer being happy as well ,Carina ,and Darbie .right away the girls shriked since they where happy to be toghether the three having a small hug as to show they where toghether .

''thank you everyone for trying out ,the coach said the trio being very happy as well as Charlotte ,and for this year team captain ,the man continued while Charlotte was acting like she was going to get the position since she had a very self impose reaction acting as if she had already earned the said position .

''i m going with Kelly quinn'' Kelly was not expecting that a surprised face being showed by her while there was some cheering ,''what ? ''Kelly asked not understanding how she ended up as team captain .''what ?'' Charlotte who did not liked that responded as well .

Hannah was happy for Kelly she glanced at her for a few moments then turned her head twoards the coach who decided to explain his choice .

''i really liked the way you suported your team mates ,the trio was very happy hearing that while some wispers where overheard .

''this year i want to focuse on how can we motivate each other '' Kelly who listened turned twoards Charlotte seeing that she was upset ,Darbie who was excited was looking at her .

''on and off the court ,the coach continued to talk though Kelly did not cared about that since she was preocupide by Charlotte ,Darbie who was watching was less cherfule and more understanding realising that Kelly was thinking about Charlotte .

''now when you leave here today ,try to think about how you can '' the coach said wanting to tell the team something only that Kelly toned his words out now having a calm expresion as well as thoughtule she knew what she had to do and so she decided to go with her gut .

''trust your instincts '' she talked out loud having a plan .

''coach i m honored that you thought of me ,Kelly started now geting the team's attention ,to leade the team ,the man made a hand gesture showing he was right in his choice ,Kelly sighed trying to ghather herself for a few moments before speaking .

''but the trough is being a leader is though ,and requiers trusting one's instincts ,at that Kelly turned to her friends who agreed with Darbie giving a nod in agrement .

''and no one's instincts at the game are better than Charlotte's ,she said geting the attention of a few girls twoards Charlotte who smiled a bit feeling the apreciation .,she motivates us on and off the court ,Kelly cotinued really showing that she was meaning her words she made a small hand gesture when she emphetised her words by lifting her right hand before leting it down .

the coach tilted his head a bit showing he was moved by the speach that Kelly was giving .

''maybe more off the court via text 'she continued speaking making her friend and some of the other girls laugh hearing the tone ,though the girl in question smiled again showig she was embarest but that she did a good job .

right way the girl still felt embarest but she was greatfule that Kelly was talking like this about her showing she enjoyed the speach that Kelly was making .

''the point is there is a methoded to her madness ,right away Charlotte tilted her head while her friends listened to her along side a few of the other girls .

''and she should be captain '' Kelly continued while having bought her arms in the air at first with out even notecing but then she became aware of that and chered a bit seeing how she was abel to move her left hand again .

right away the three girls gigelled seeing their succes ,the coach just watched having nothing else to say after realising that Kelly had some very powerfule points regurding him making Charlotte the new team captain .

the girl in question was moving her head showing she wanted to be named captain already since it was so obvios to her now .

''so ?''Kelly asked when the man pointed twoards Charlotte bymaking a gesture with his left hand .

''ok'' he responded agreeing ,'Charlotte's captain ''hearing that the girl in question was happy ,while Kelly was simply glad for things turning out this way .

''see you tommorrow at practice ''the man reminded the group who was ready to leave

''thanks ,that was nice .''Charlottel told Kelly who was about to leave showing she was very greatfule for that since she had a happy smile and also showed a bit of a nice side than her usual self .

''yeah well you deserve it ''Kelly said not finding this to be much of a problem .

''for what is worth you would had made an ok captain ''Charlotte said even if she did rolled her eyes a bit at the thought but she decided to be honest ,Kelly started to laugh when she responded .

''i'll take that ''the two girls simply smiled finding a nice common ground for once than usuall the two parting ways ,Kelly was hugged by her best friends who where happy for the turn out the three walking away .

now in the evening the trio was back again this time around bought Hannah and Darbie had diferent outfits ,Hannah was wearing a slevless shirt with white dots while Darbie was wearing a green t shirt that was braided . while for the finishing touch Hannah was wearing a pair of dark blue jeans ,Darbie had a pair of brown shorts she was wearing her snikers not taking them off .

Darbie trew a chip in to the bawl that Hannah was holding

''wooh nice ''Hannah chered her best friend bought higfiving each other the two then glanced at Kelly who was looking at the book not saying a thing ,she too had chainged now wearing a pair of jeans and a long sleeved shirt with diferent broadiments.

''Kelly whatcha thinking ?''Hannah asked seeing her not saying a word Darbie decided to sit properly now looking at Kelly as well being worried .

''nothing ''Kelly dismissed her friends not wanting to tell them what was trully on her mind .

hearing that Darbie simply was not fooled since she was giving Kelly a look ,while Hannah moved a bit showing the same concern as Darbie .

''come on it's us .''Hannah told her wanting for Kelly to trust in them

''we know when something is up '' Hannah said going further now the focuse being more on her than Darbie and Kelly ,right away Kelly looked twoards her friends having a small worried expresion as if she knew or thought of something the two did not .

''i just feel like everything that happened ,was meant to happen you know ?'' Kelly told her friends having quite the heavy thoughts the focuse being on her for the period she was talking when the focuse shifted to Hannah who listening had a worried expresion not trully understanding what or where Kelly was trying to go with her words .

''finding the book ,cooking the recepies ,Kelly continued while the focuse was still on Hannah who now gave a nod understanding where her best friend was trying to get to . the focuse shifted to Darbie who listened to the words her eyes darting towards Kelly while being silent .

''every cause had an effect ''Kelly continued making Darbie think about what happen to her bought in the morning when she could not stop talking and after being injured the focuse was still on Darbie who was silent but was understanding as well .

''it's like ,it was destiny ,Kelly told her best friends the focuse being centered around her at the moment ,right away the focuse shifted twoards Hannah who was thinking about this blinking for a few moments ,the shift changing towards Darbie who's eye's darted towards Kelly again thinking about this as being something very heavy .

''this is geting heavy ''she told her friends not making a joke since she was not in the mood for them ,right then the focuse shifted twaords Hannah again who was listening being understanding as well as worried .

''i just know that what ever is going on with grandma 'Kelly spoke the shift returning back to her her expresion being understanding as well as worried .

''has something to do with the book ,like maybe ,just maybe 'Kelly spoke now having one of the strangest thought that had cross her mind ,the shift changed to Darbie who listenned as well as looked at her with a worried expresion when the shift returned to Kelly once more continuing to talk further .

''she is under a spell'' saying that even if it sounded crazy was a posible explination to Kelly who was looking ahead instead of her friends her eyes being closed for a few moments when she said that .opening them again and they darted twoards her friends .

the focuse went to Hannah who was thinking about this finding it a bit hard to belive it she blinked a few moments trying to digest the words not beliving anything for it was a bit to overwhelming .

the shift changed to Darbie who right away spoke when she knew that the spells that she and Hannah where under worn off .

''but our spells wore off '' Kelly hearing her decided to be troughtule and come clean with her best friends since she knew the trough now after looking through the book .

''no they where broken ,Darbie gave Kelly a confused look showing she did not understood what she was trying to get at .the focuse went to Kelly for a few moments then to the three of them with Kelly loking at her best friends while holding the book on her lap .

''look'' she replyed geting the book more closer to her chest and was also moving much closer to her best friends who decided to look a bit better at the book wanting to see what Kelly had found .

''the fine print it's allways in the fine print ''Hannah responded making a commotion about that ,while Darbie and Kelly where looking at the page of the recipie that they used .

Darbie gave Hannah a short look focusing on the page again .

''it's says what's been done ,you can undo with a nobel act ''Kelly recited the riddel the focuse being on the book more specifically on the said riddel that Kelly was having her finger pointed at holding the corner of the page .

''from a heart that's true ''. Darbie had a small surprided face now the focuse being on her while listening to the riddel ,the focuse moved twoards Hannah who reacted after understanding what the riddel was trying to say .

''oh after you apologized to buddy we could talk ''Hannah responded starting to understand how the spell broke off ,Darbie was silent having her head a bit lowerd but then the two girls looked twoards Hannah ,Kelly having a surprided expresion hearing that not expecting something like this .

''and when you made Charlotte captain your arm worked again ,it's simple '' Darbie said explaning what had happen concluding that this was the key thus her even saying that it was that simple .

''but i don't think it's that simple ,Kelly responded the focuse being on her when she was talking to Darbie explaining her side of things regurding the spell and how it worn off .

''i think there's more to unlock ''Kelly said now knowing that this was more than they ever could had even imagine .

''don't ,don't say it ''Hannah asked not liking this . the focuse returned to Kelly again who was calm but decisive .

''we need to keep cooking ,a nod was given by Darbie who understood ,we have to save my grandma .

Hannah simply agreed not liking this while this was happening a mysterious music was being played . Darbie who was on the same page as Hannah agreed since she wanted to help Kelly .

the trio right away began to study the book while the focuse was slowly zooming out from the quine house where the same crow was watching the girls in silance ,taking flight right away .

the next scene being with the house of miss Silvers who was standing on a chair looking in the horiozon when she was surprised by the crow making her glance at her familiar who crowed .

the door open the steal creaking being overheard when in the Shadows the figure of mama p was seen starting to walk . miss silvers got up from the chair having a very surprised look that changed to unfriendly after seeing the woman .

she keept her gaze on the woman and spoke .''what are you doing here ?''

mama p continued to walk her face barely being seen trough the shadows when she stepped a bit in to the light looking at miss silvers with a calm expresion .

''it's happening again ''after hearing that miss silvers was not looking well as if something bad just had been said to her ,her crow crowaked when after tilting her head a bit the woman being serios spoke to mama p .

''you leave thouse girls alone '' the warning was given but mama p did not care since she was smiling as if she did not mind the warning ,the crow was crawing while that was happening making the short moment very odd and eery but it became even creepy when mama p simply tilted her head and her smile was simply odd and just not right as if something bad or not good was planed by the woman . she left not saying a word making things very wierd and ominous .
