Robin paced Chloe's apartment waiting for his sister to return from work. He wanted to ask her if she knew the exact location where the Vampire High Council met, but he didn't know how to even begin. She would know right away what he was up to. He had never been the subtle type and didn't know how to be.

The door knob turned and Chloe entered the room. "You're back," she smiled. "How was the client? Did you get the job?" She walked to the kitchen to make herself a sandwich.

"Uhh… about that," Robin hesitated. He just had to come out and say it. He didn't want to waste any time. "I actually didn't meet with a client. I went to this old school called Garside."

Chloe froze as she opened a jar of mayo. "Why did you go there?"

"I might have peaked at your computer and saw the name," his eyes shifted. "It seemed important."

"And?"

Robin was a bit put off by Chloe's interest. He expected she would be scolding him by now.

"I think I know where I can find Vlad… I think."

Chloe finished making her sandwich, cut it in half and walked over to her brother to hand him half of it. "Where?"

"You aren't going to tell the slayers what I tell you right?" Robin started to grow suspicious.

"If you know something then you should tell me," Chloe said.

"No," Robin said. "You have to promise you won't say anything. At least until I can confirm it for myself."

"You plan to go there don't you? Wherever that is?" Chloe frowned.

Robin shrugged, "possibly."

"Please," Chloe couldn't hide her concern anymore. "Please don't go. You could be putting yourself in danger."

"That's why I wanted to talk to you," Robin tried to smile. "If you help then everything will be fine."

Chloe shook her head, "I doubt that. Please, just forget about him."

"I can't," Robin whispered.

"Why?!" Chloe raised her voice and the tears started.

"Because he's my friend and last time I saw him we were all attacked," Robin kept his gentle tone. "I have to see that he's ok."

"Robin, he's a killer!" Chloe lost all control. "He's killed maybe a hundred people at this point that we know of! He's not your friend! If you look for him then he might…" she started to hyperventilate.

Robin hurried to move her to the couch and got her some water. When he returned with a glass he handed it to her, sat down and waited for her to relax.

When she appeared to regain control of her breathing he said "I'm ok. I'm here, ok?"

Chloe nodded, "ok." She struggled to speak. "I just can't lose you too."

Robin nodded. "Do you want to get some sleep?"

"No, we need to talk about this. Just give me a minute."

Robin waited. Once Chloe finished her water she set it on the table in front of her. "Ok."

"So…," Robin wasn't sure what to say now. "So, Vlad isn't fine then."

"I'm not sure of all the details, but the Guild was watching him and the Dracula's for a while. Everything indicated that Vlad wasn't violent, but then just recently there were disappearances and murders around the area of that school you went to. The Guild began an investigation since there was evidence of vampire activity. At that point things got out of hand and then the Slayers Guild HQ was attacked and destroyed. Many witnesses claim they saw Vlad there."

Robin shook his head. "That doesn't make any sense. Why would Vlad go from being nonviolent to attacking the Guild?"

"Well, I wasn't sure why myself until tonight. I met with my boss and she filled me in on some details."

"And?" Robin was impatient.

"Vlad's mother was human. He's Dimidius, only half vampire. During an attempt to question Vlad, one of our own slayers panicked and accidently shot and killed his mother."

That lined up with what Melody had told Robin at the school.

"With that motive in mind, there is solid proof that he is behind many murders of slayers and disappearances," Chloe stated.

Robin folded his hands and looked at his feet. "How do you know that this isn't all self defense. I mean they killed his mom and he reacted"

"Robin, he's hunting them down. He goes around Europe attacking slayers. None of these slayers were assigned to look for him."

Robin shook his head.

"I get he was your friend, but he's not the person you knew before. Let it go."

"But there has to be a reason," Robin argued.

"And there probably is and that is my job to figure it out, but whatever that reason is there is no excuse for him murdering the innocent."

"I wouldn't call slayers innocent," Robin pointed out.

"No, but we do what we do to protect the innocent," Chloe argued.

"You might, but I doubt all are," Robin stood up. "I'm sorry Chloe. I can't drop this. I'm going to find him with or without your help."

Chloe considered the ultimatum. "Fine, tell me where you think he is."

"You can't tell your boss," Robin reminded her. Chloe nodded.

"Ingrid is a member of the Vampire High Council. Vlad told me about them once. They are based in Transylvania. He might not be there, but Ingrid will probably be and she can tell us."

"And you think Ingrid wouldn't kill you because….?" Chloe was not too confident in this plan.

"I have to hope she won't but you being a slayer we can probably get some stuff to defend ourselves."

"How do you even know she's on the High Council? We have no record of that and vampire's don't allow females to hold that power."

"I found evidence of that back at Garside," Robin said.

"What sort of evidence?"

"Paper work," Robin lied. He didn't want Chloe telling the guild a vampire was still there. Melody let him live. He felt like he owed her.

"So how do you expect me to get away from work to come with you all the way to Transylvania?"

"Figured you might come up with that plan."

Chloe rolled her eyes, "I'll see what I can do."

Jonathan arrived at the new HQ immediately after his release. Since he was in the hospital ever since the attack he hadn't seen it yet. It was very different from the old factory setting they were at before. This one was mostly underground with a few entrances above ground. It looked like a military bunker to him.

His mother met him in the parking garage. "It's so nice to see you on your feet," she smiled. "How are you feeling?"

"Stronger each day," Jonathan smiled, trying not to show how much support he needed from the cane he was holding . "Ready to get back at it."

Mina shook her head, "We brought you here for your own safety. You still need rest."

"I'm tired of just laying in bed just thinking all day. Vlad's out there, let me help," Jonathan spoke softly.

"We will talk about this in a little while. Let's get you settled first," Mina said.

Great, Jonathan thought, now she acts like a mom. "Ok," he gave in.

They ran into Chloe in the hall on the way to the dorms. "Jonno! You're out of the hospital," she smiled.

"Yeah, how are you?" Jonno asked.

"Good, I was actually looking for Mina to ask her something," Chloe said.

"What is it?" Mina asked.

"Well… I know it's a bad time, but my mother called and she broke her leg," she lied. "She would like me to come visit and take care of her for a few days. I can still study the files you asked me to look through and email you a report."

Mina sighed, "Alright, when will you be back?"

"That depends on when mom gets her strength back to manage, but it shouldn't take long," Chloe explained.

"Ok. Just keep me in the loop. Hope your mom recovers quickly."

"Thank you. Glad to see you back, Jonno," Chloe hurried off.

"What's she working on?" Jonno asked.

"Don't worry about that now. You're still on medical leave."

"Stop it, mom!" Jonno interrupted. "I'm not new here and can handle myself. Please tell me what's going on?"

Mina looked surprised at her son. She gave in knowing how hard headed he could be.

"Alright, Chloe is assisting me in locating Vlad by studying his behavior. See if we can understand his plans and motives."

"So what would you do with that information?"

"Find him and bring him in," Mina said.

"We aren't going to slay him?" Jonno's eyes widened. "You said yourself he's dangerous."

"We will slay him, but Vlad can tell us a lot about many things and it would be a disservice to let that information slip through our fingers," Mina explained.

"Maybe," Jonno said. "But if slayers approach him without the intent to dust him then he's more likely to get away… or worse case kill them."

"By questioning him we might save a few more lives," Mina said.

"How do you know he would tell us anything?" Jonno asked.

"We don't, but I'm willing to try," Mina said.

Jonno didn't like the idea at all. He saw himself what Vlad's power could do. Bringing him there for interrogation, there were so many things that could go wrong with that.
