I don't know what happened but not a month after Neoleo's visit Kurapika had another of his "vacations." Everybody referred to these mysterious disapperenceses vacations but whether a few days or a couple months he'd come dragging back like death warmed over. So I cannot believe they were like anyone else's vacation- especially since how long he'd be gone was always a suprize. But this lead to a most humorous interview.

A tall stately man came to our office and Linssen assumed he was here for a body guard until he demanded to see Mr. Kurapika. When told the Kurapika was out on assignment he got very irate, and demanded to see the boss, when told that Kurapika was the boss and until he returned Linssen was in charge he got even angrier so much so Linssen activated the distress button to call Melody. When she came in she took one look and said "Dr. Ikiteiruishi I presume?" like it was some kind of joke. "Please come with me Dr. I'm fully briefed in what Kurapika hired you to do." And then she brought him to our break room and introduced him to us girls that where off duty. "1st Dr. I need to know, doctor patient confidentiality will you promise that you will never reveal who or what you cloned here. That you did clone research for us fine we'd be more than happy to give references for futer research offers and grants but the precise clones you make you will never refer to as anything other than by their scientific name."

"An odd request, but fine, I'm here because I was promised to be allowed to research human cloning which most governments have ignorantly banned. I suppose that you want your clones to be come part of society with out government sanction based on their origin.

"Essentially correct, 2nd another cloning controversy is over reversing extinctions do you have a problem with bringing a people back from genocide?"

"Ah! That one is harder with out knowing how old the samples are and in what way they are preserved. But this makes the job so much more interesting, now you have my full attention Ms. Melody!"

"Well when you talk of samples how mush do you need? And what would the limits of preservation be?"

"The classic example is to bring a dinosaur back, but between the time and quality of preservation you'd need a large quantity of dinosaur bones to break apart and get a full DNA sequence. A Homo sapen on the other hand would be relatively easy with a fresh sample but much harder with a sample of say an Egpytain Pharaoh.

"When you say break apart how destructive of the source material are you?"

"The older and less well preserved a sample the more base martial needs to be used to get a complete sequence so I could take the average blood test vial from you and make as many clones as you'd like, but for our Pharaoh. I'd need at least an ounce per clone."

"OK, then on your word to not reveal what I show you I'd like your opinion on the samples preservation. Any of you girls that wish to accompany us to the Catacombs?" Melody invited.

"I was the only one willing to reenter that eiry place so the 3 of us proceeded. "I truly hope you can help Dr. Getting his clan back would mean everything to Kurapika!" I implored.

"The doctor froze when he realized the source of the creepy red glow. "My God! Kurta Scarlet Eyes! I've never personally seen some before. And so many! Hmmm your insistence on confidentiality is even more understandable Ms. Melody! The treasure trove of life lost here, they truly are as remarkable as everyone says. I'd need to run some tests but these look to be in remarkable condition like they were put in the jars fresh from… HE ISN'T PLANING ON SELLING MY CLONES EYES! I will not participate in such suffering!" Dr. Ikiteiruishi bellowed.

"No Dr. on our honor Kurapika wants nothing more that them to live full Happy lives!" Melody reassured.

"Well it will take time. If you want success in bring these people back I recommend practicing with less valuable specimens first, perhaps even starting with the cloning of a living being."

"You are the expert , I defer to your judgment Dr. but the sooner started the better. What will you need?"

"Dr. I remember hearing about the first clone Dolly the sheep could you begin with me? Sir?" I interjected.

"You? I suppose? Hmm to actually clone some one is very involved with much specialized equipment… but the prep work like fallowing your cycle to determine when you will best 'catch' the clone fetus that can be begun right away. So yes I can start with you Ms."

AN: Ikiteiruishi is Japanese for "Living Stone" so Melody's joke is "Dr. Livingston I presume?"
