Sorry, this is a really short chapter! Happy reading!
Will
I dial House's number and he picks up on the third ring. "House's House of Whining file your complaint." He says, as soon as he picks up. I know that he can be rude and sarcastic but I wasn't expecting this as soon as I picked up the phone. "Um… This is your half-brother Will Solace," I say, hoping he doesn't hang up on me immediately, "I need a favor." He responds immediately, "Oh no, I am not going back to my life as a demigod. I have had enough of that. I have had a perfectly normal life for the past few years and I am not messing it up." I need to find a way to convince him!
"Well," I say, "I'm guessing you've heard of Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase?" "Yes, but what do they have to do with this?" He asks. "Both of them are really sick and I have no idea what's wrong with them." I try to make it sound like a big puzzle because I know he likes medical mysteries. There is a pause, then he says, "What are the symptoms?" I try to remember all of them and I list them for him. Finally after a lot more convincing he agrees to come and help. I smile to myself as I hang up, happy that this case will be solved soon. Now I just have to keep them alive for six more hours until he gets here.
Annabeth
I open my eyes and see Will sitting next to my bed. I feel a little groggy but my stomach doesn't feel like it's on fire anymore. Will seems to be staring into space and he has a worried expression on his face. "Will," I say, "Is everything okay?" He jolts back to reality and mumbles something that sounds like yup everything is fine. "How are you feeling Annabeth?"
"I'm fine," I respond. "How does your stomach feel?" "Much better," I say, because it really does feel much better. "Is it okay if I look at your stitches?"
"Stitches?" I question. He slaps his palm to his forehead, "I should have told you as soon as you woke up. You had appendicitis and I had to do surgery to take out your appendix." So that's why my stomach was hurting. Will gently pulls up my shirt and I realize that this is the first time I've looked at my stomach since I fell. It is covered in dark purple bruises and there is a line of stitches on the right side. Will gently presses on them and tells me that they are healing perfectly. At least something is finally going right.
I lying in my bed resting with Percy's hand in mine. I haven't stopped worrying about him. His burns seem to be healing but he will probably have scars forever. I am drifting off to sleep when suddenly I feel his fingers twitch! "Percy?" I say hoping he can hear me. His eyes slowly open and he looks at me. I burst into tears, happy to see that my seaweed brain is going to be okay. He opens his mouth to say something, "Shh," I say, "it's okay." Will comes running over and bursts into a smile. He gives Percy some nectar and ambrosia and he relaxes immediately. I was so happy that he was awake that I hadn't realized how much pain he was in. Will does a few more tests then leaves me and Percy to catch up.
"What happened?" Percy asks, and I remember having this exact same conversation yesterday. "What's the last thing you remember?" I want to know what Percy remembers so I can start the story where his memory stops. "I remember going to the climbing wall with Nico. We were about half way up when I started having trouble breathing. Nico got worried and called Will over. I started to climb down but the wall chose that moment to start spewing lava. I fell off the wall then passed out." I never heard this part of the story and it's even worse than I thought. "Well," I say, "Your stopped breathing and your heart stopped. Will did CPR until he got here then restarted your heart. You had a collapsed lung so he fixed that too. You had bad burns but he couldn't give you nectar and ambrosia until you woke up so that's why you were in so much pain when you woke up."
Hope you liked this chapter! Please review!
