They both stood above her as Sai'ira used the wall to prop herself back up, sliding her jacket down to her elbows she glared at Cam. He looked to the other human and nodded again raising his club as he brought it down Sai'ira slipped a hand out of her jacket using the other to whip it around his arm and pull him close with his arm outstretched and Sai'iras back against his chest she ran her feet up the wall and with a swift glittering flash her foot was lightning through the air and knocked Cam in the side of his head as her foot reached the wall she had already twisted the thugs arm, fluid in motion as she flipped the thug on her way down and pinned him to the ground, after the third strike he stopped struggling. Cam was sleeping when she stood up and made her way down the hall to the kitchen where she could hear scuffling.
The door swung open and one of the dishwashers was pushed through as a pan flew through the air and caught his head Sai'ira ran down the hall as Max bolted out of the door, seeing she was being chased Sai'ira focused a spine-numbing barrier as she leapt in front of her hearing a sharp object connecting with the energy field as she whirled around and saw it was Daelek holding a butchers knife, Sai'ira sent him flying back into the kitchen in a shimmering extension of her prowess. She turned back towards Max who was catching her breath.
"Didn't want the steak?"
"Fuck off, Fel's still in there and we're getting him." She wiped her brow, Max walking around her as she head back into the kitchen as soon as the door opened she was immediately attacked-poorly one might add- as a line cook only grazed her shoulder with his punch then failed to tackle her as she side stepped him, leaping onto his back he was forced to the ground in a rear naked choke. Sai'ira hopped over them preventing Daelek in kicking Max while she was on the floor (which was a little greasy) while in the air Sai'ira knocked him against the center line counter, reaching for a plate she smashed it over his head, he brought his knife up slashing part of her abductor and into her elbow.
The stinging pain caused her to cry out as Daelek slipped away he was caught by Max who punched him square in the face. Sai'ira didn't have time to warn her of the second line cook who grabbed Max by the waist and threw her over the line, plates, pans and a few raw ingredients tumbling with her. Daelek turned and cut the air between himself and Sai'ira who knew all to well the first rule of fighting against a knife with bare hands is don't but she had no choice so she then had to accept the second rule, you will be cut the question is only where. Daelek kept a good control of the space between them, he swung rather wildly towards her with enough disregard for caution that Sai'ira grabbed his knife arm feeling the eezo pulse through her muscles as she flipped him over onto his back, still holding his long tri-fingered hand in the air with her shoe on his face. She angled his arm up a little then in one precise motion, Daelek tried not to scream as she dislocated his arm, dropping the knife she kicked it to the side and looked to see how Max was fairing.
She was then reminded of the pain in her side as she took a step forward, clutching her side with asari blood congealing and sticking to her clothes as she turned to see Max getting up off the floor as she brushed herself off the waiter walked in ready to fight that is until he heard the moans of the kitchen staff.
"Is he still in there?" Max asked, placing her hands on her hips.
"Uh, he-" They heard the front doors open and close.
"Shit!" Max's arm lit up as she called her car. "We can't let him get away, you're bleeding. I have medi-gel in the car, let's go."
Sai'ira kept up with Max as they ran for her car, already started as they saw an orange model-R3 Take off in quite a hurry. The doors weren't even fully closed as Max took off, Sai'ira found the med kit in the back struggling to keep steady as she searched for the medi-gel. Which was rather difficult as Max put her metaphorical foot to the floor, her hands dancing across the dash as their shuttle gained speed, shooting above the city canyons as the R3 dove into the skylanes Sai'ira held onto to the handle above the door as Max weaved herself into traffic.
"Don't get blood on my seats, med kit's in the back."
"Yeah, yeah, because I love getting sliced up by your friends. The hell was all that about?" Sai'ira felt the car jerk as it overtook another, she picked up the small red box in the back seat and began to apply the medi-gel to her side and elbow.
"He works for Dh'elia, she's not exactly pleased with how E'neas been handling the council."
"Does she know about the broker?" Even soaring at high speeds Sai'ira saw a trucker give them the finger as they zipped by, cutting him off as Fel's shuttle dipped out of the skylane and switched to the one above with Max grunting in frustration as the console lit up the skycar pitched to the right, the thrusters whining right before blasting through the air as she held the tail.
"Where is he going?" Sai'ira knew he couldn't keep this up all day, and from the way Maxine pilots he'd never get away at this rate.
"Not sure, but the PD will be on us soon. They monitor the lanes pretty heavily, and we just switched at a non-junction."
"We'll have to stop him before that then." They were moving too fast to safely ram him shooting at him would be futile at these speeds as well. Sai'ira figured her biotics were the only way to bring him out of the sky. Her only problem is he was still too fast and dipping her head out of a skycar pushing one hundred and twenty miles isn't exactly a great idea. Then again most of what she's done in the last few days hasn't been done with the best regard for safety and caution, what's on more thing to add to the list?
"Get in front of him." Sai'ira said.
"Why?"
"I can destabilize his eezo core, force him down. I just need a clear line of sight, also how good are your seat belts?"
Max took her eyes off of the skylane for a moment and the look of surprise and confusion on her face said it all. "You're serious?"
Sai'ira flashed her a smirk as she turned around in her seat and began to breath she felt the barrier form around her, it would help keep her steady when she stuck her head out.
"O...ok, hang on." Shaking her head as she engaged the console, quickly over taking Fel's R3, Sai'ira saw him in the rear window as she wrapped her hand around the seatbelt and opened the door. Even with Max slowing down a steady stream of air forced her back the seatbelt tightening around her arm with her stomach clenching to maintain balance she had almost forgotten her wound, the pain was minimal thanks to the medi-gel but she still had to compensate with her right foot planted in between the seat and center console. As Sai'ira squinted to see she could just barely extend her hand to reach out to Fels R3. She was being honked at by other skycars as Max continued to slow down and suddenly she found herself under a truck as it began to pass them the jet stream caused the skycar to waiver and tilt, Sai'iras iron grip on the seatbelt dug into her arm as she kept her concentration on the small eezo core in Fels car a small tickle ran down her spine like someone dragging a feather. The orange Skycar waivered as began to drift out of the lane, Sai'ira tugged on the seatbelt pulling herself in and quickly closed the door with a audible sigh of relief as she felt her hands shaking from the adrenaline.
"Not bad at all." Maxine dipped out of the lane and followed Fel as he slowly fell towards the city.
"If you're a failed Justicar I'd hate to face a real one."
Sai'ira found herself still breathing heavy, her brain may have been able to focus on the task but her body felt like it had just had a near death experience. "You have no idea."
"Are you ok?"
"Fine, fine. What do we do when we catch him?"
"We...bring him him to E'nea, she'll decide from there." She didn't sound too sure of herself.
"And Dh'elia?" Sai'ira saw the look of concern on Max's face.
"That's different...they're war buddies, they both fought the reapers together. Dh'elia treats her people like pawns, what's worse is she's not even playing to win she clearly just wants to ruffle feathers."
"Well," Sai'ira swallowed, her hand shaking as she clenched and unclenched her fist. "Consider mine ruffled as well."
