"Hey, isn't that Royal Blaze, Johann Chu senpai's EX skill?" Not-Z said.
Ariel looked at him more carefully. There is something on him. He is definitely related to Z.
He wilted under her stare as he started to sweat. "Um, I am Luminous, nice to meet you," He introduced him"self.
Ariel nodded. "I am Ariel. Nice to meet you too, Luminous Senpai," she introduced.
"You are pretty strong," Luminous said. She just gave him a look that said "Are you serious?"
"Don't look at me like that. They say that I am an S rank but I don't have any EX skill," he said while looking downtrodden.
"Impossible," Ariel said. If he is related to Z, he can't be that weak. Ariel once used all of her detection skills on him and the results all out are mostly question marks other than the fact that he was a few thousand years old and not from this place.
"Hey, I am serious. The only student worse than me in this College is Figure Senpai," he said while denying profusely. Ariel raised an eyebrow with suspicion.
'Yes, he was definitely hiding something,' she mused.
He suddenly brightened as if he had some idea and said, "I know! I can't do much myself but there is a senior called Nono. She is super nice to me. I will take you to her and we will deal with them together".
"Acceptable. Please lead the way," Ariel agreed as she gestured to him to go ahead.
Ariel and Luminous were waiting at the fountain when a group of Death Servitors crept upon them. She was about to deal with them until a red hair beauty came and blasted them all away.
Luminous was still distracted by his phone as Nono walked behind him and tapped his shoulder. Luminous jumped in fright as Nono shook her head in disappointment.
Suddenly a blonde came and killed another group of Death Servitors in an overly exaggerated manner. He came toward the group and looked at Ariel with an appraising look.
"So, you are the new student Luminous talked about. Nice to meet you. I am Caesar Gattuso. I heard you can use Johann Chu's EX skill," he said while looking at her.
"Nice to meet you too. I am Ariel, " Ariel greeted.
"Good. Now let's go kill the main culprit behind this invasion," he told the group.
'Main culprit? Anjou?' Ariel thought to herself before shaking off that thought. Must be some smoke screen Anjou employed.
They arrived at the place to see another two students blown away. The culprit was a very big Death Servitor. It snarled at them as it came lunging. Nono took out a gatling and shot it. Caesar also circled and began shooting it, killing it quickly.
Caesar retraced his gun. Luminous looked at it closely and said, "there I was thinking he was some big shot".
"It is still alive," Ariel said lazily. She could see it as clear as day. As soon as it heard her, the Death Servitor jumped and began shooting icicles.
'Well, I have to show something too I guess,' Ariel thought as she focused. The world crawled to a stop as she began to walk leisurely. She went near the first icicle, tapped it and did the same with the other two. After that, she went to the dragon and punched it. The world resumed as she released her focus.
Everyone was looking at her with slackjaw now. She looked at them back with glowing purple eyes.
"Your eyes, they are purple," Luminous said.
"Well done," they heard clapping sounds as Anjou came toward them while clapping his hands.
*Beep
She focused on the system.
[Congratulations on passing the Initiation. You had gained the cheat, Infinite Health]
'I gained a cheat just from that. Now, I felt cheated,' Ariel thought to herself bitterly.
After the initiation, Ariel went back to her daily routine, searching for whatever she could find regarding Black Swan Bay and Herzog. She was wondering if she should just hack her way into the College's Secret Archives which surely have something about it. She was entertaining the idea until she had a call from the principal office.
So, she opened her gate and walked in. On the other side, there was Caesar, Luminous and Johann Chu, the head of Lionheart Society.
"How do you have so many EX skills?" Luminous asked and she just shrugged.
After Johann introduced himself to her, Anjou began handing out missions for Japan. She nodded in satisfaction, that was convenient.
Suddenly, her instincts flared up and felt some shift in the atmosphere. It came from Luminous. Ariel furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at Luminous glazed eyes. Someone was attacking him mentally. Ariel immediately linked her mind to his to fight off the intruder.
Meanwhile, Luminous' mind,
"You have an interesting new friend brother," Ming·Z·Lu said.
"What are you doing? Is it fun entering someone's mind?" Luminous said in anger. "And are you talking about Ariel? Leave her alone!" Luminous yelled in anger. Z chuckled a bit.
"Are you sure you should be worrying about her brother?" Z said before his face turned serious causing Luminous to gulp in nervousness. "I am serious here brother. You should be becareful around her. She isn't human or even a dragon for that matter. She is an abomination. If you want to know more, you should investigate the Black Swan Bay orphanage. I believe some of her handiworks when she went berserk were still there" Z warned before leaving.
"What do you mean?! What is Black Swan Bay Orphanage?!" Luminous shouted at him but Z had already left.
Luminous woke up in the real world. He shook his head a little before looking at Ariel who met his gaze with her own. Luminous yelped and quickly turned his gaze away.
'I wonder if he was really related to Z. Z was confident and courageous while this guy is…' Ariel thought while pondering the possible relation between the two.
"So, I am sending you guys to Japan," Anjou said.
'Wait, what?' Ariel thought. She had been too lost in her head that she totally missed what they had been discussing.
"Don't worry headmaster, we will surely accomplish the mission," Caesar assured Anjou. Ariel also nodded, deciding to go with the flow. Though, what she didn't know was that this trip was going to change her life, meeting old friends and uncovering the ancient conspiracy.
They left Anjou's office after debriefing. After that, she went on her way back to her dorm to start preparing, which was totally a lie since most of her things were in her inventory. She even still has the flowers Vera gave her. Oh yes, Vera, she was one of her regrets. The one she knew she could save her but couldn't. She sighed. Now, her mood was totally spoiled.
