Among the several officers that were put up for consideration at the training center, Vace quickly rose above them all. Showing the trainers his quick ability to analyze his surroundings and adequately coming out victorious every time. He had natural leading ability, bringing his virtual crew through every course alive and intact in the simulations.

After graduation he was submitted to be serving under Sendak. Not even two months later he found himself as the number two. Many officers and captains loathed his swift rise to number two.

Many would look at him and see a young adult Galra. Incapable of leading Zarkon's army to victory against Voltron. They talked about his deal with Zarkon. If he had one failure and he somehow survived, Zarkon would kill Vace himself.

Vace heard the whispers as he passed the corridors on his ship. He knew how everyone secretly loathed him, how they only sucked up to his face. It twisted his stomach every time one saluted to him giving the well known 'Vrepit Sa'.

It made him sick.

Despite the fact that everyone hated him, Vace had managed to find someone on his ship he could trust. Someone that had been there for him since his mother's passing. True he hadn't been able to attend the funeral, but the fate of the Galra empire was more important then his mother's passing. He had mourned, but it had been time to move on. He needed to stay focused. One mistake and he would be joining his mother.

His trusted companion. As he referred to her. As they weren't quite friend's, in fact he wasn't quite sure what they were.

He stepped into her lab. Katora was the lab technician. She dealt with anything and everything he asked to be tested, experimented, and researched. She was the best of the best and nothing would get past her.

"Look who woke up on the wrong side of the bed today," Katora commented placing a hand on her hip.

Her shoulder length purple hair was almost always twisted back into a braid. Her yellow eyes narrowing in amusement.

"Very funny," Vace responded. He leaned himself against a counter, folding his arms around his chest. "Any progress?"

She shook her head. Setting a few files down. "The coordinates you gave me went no where."

Vace frowned, "You've got to be kidding me. I received those from a very trusted source."

"I don't know what to tell you. I analyzed them in every which way I can and picked up nothing. This Blade of Marmora base dosen't exist." She picked up the files once more, tapping them against the counter. "If anything you may need to check the validation of your source."

"They're trustworthy."

"More than me?" Katora asked tilting her head slightly.

"No of course not!" Vace replied a little too quickly. There was no one he could count on more than Katora. That didn't mean that he couldn't find others just as trustworthy.

"If you really believe that then take my advice and look into this source of yours." She then turned and headed for the door. Her files against her side.

Vace knew she was right. Until this source could prove that they could be trusted there was no way he could in fact trust them.
