Chapter 9: Stain's Tricks
A dark faceless figure sat in front of a screen. The screen switched on to reveal Tomura Shigaraki's face. "Master." he said. "Is it time?"
"Soon, my boy. Soon. But first, you know what you have to do." Shigaraki nodded. "Let's go through the events one-by-one, shall we? We made our first impression by attacking U.A. High School, and made All Might fight with a Nomu in order to kill him, but he seemed to be stronger than we thought. Then we decided to recruit Stain, who somehow ended up killing All Might. Moments before dying, All Might passed One For All to another, and now we have no idea who it might be."
"Actually, Master. About that. I might have an idea as to who the Quirk was passed on to."
"Oh? Do tell."
"I did some research about Stain's capture and it turns out, that a UA student named Tenya Iida was fighting stain just moments before. He seems to have recovered by now. I have a feeling, All Might chose him as there was no one else around the area for the next few minutes."
"This is a very interesting discovery, my boy. You have done well. But we must not jump to conclusions. All Might has always managed to hit us when we didn't expect it. My own intel tells me that U.A. High School has a camp in the Beasts' Forest coming up tomorrow, in which the students shall be training their quirks. That would be a great place to attack. Maybe we could find the student we are looking for. I was going to send that Wolfram to i-Island to steal a piece of technology that could have helped our doctor, but well, since All Might is dead, we have more time."
"Didn't Wolfram want the device for himself?"
"Obviously why I was going to dispose of him later on. Just like how we must dispose of our student holding on to that precious Quirk of my brother's. Speaking of which, you wished to recruit one of the students as well correct?"
"Yes, Master. Katsuki Bakugo. His performance in the Sports Festival caught my attention. I believe he might just agree to join us, if convinced."
"Very well. We can kill two birds with one stone. And even if we don't find All Might's successor, Young Katsuki will be able to tell us if any of his fellow classmates have gained a new upgrade to their quirk or not." Saying this, All For One turned off his computer. Shigaraki turned to Dabi. "You were told to go and investigate more about the U.A. students. But ever since you've returned, you haven't said a word about it. Speak up. What were you up to?" Dabi glared at him. His eyes above his burns glowed with malice. "I couldn't find anything about the students. And what I'm up to is not much of your business. Just be glad that I'm on your side." Shigaraki walked up to him with his hand raised. "Oh really? How can we be sure that you're loyal?"
"Why don't you find out when we attack the students at the camp?" Dabi smirked, and walked out of the room. "All right." Shigaraki thought for a second and turned to the newcomer. "Muscular, wasn't it? You go with them. This will be a test to see your worth." The big villain grinned. Outside, Dabi put his hands into his pocket and stared off into the sunset. After a while, sudden realization hit him. "Oh." he said. And then he grinned. "Oohhhh!"
Five hours ago, in Hosu...
Deku, Morph and Cook stood looking at Deku in the mirror. The wound had healed, but it left a nasty burn/scar. "His mark." Deku thought. "I will make him pay." Morph and Cook glanced at each other. "So...what do you suppose we do now?" Cook asked. Izuku smirked and held up something that was held in his fist. "No. Way!" Morph exclaimed. "The hell is that?" Cook asked. "It's a communication device! Which definitely belongs to..."
"DABI!" Cook exclaimed. "If we get someone with some hacking skills, they may be able to track the private frequency that the League uses in order to communicate!"
"Exactly." Deku said. "Those pick-pocketing skills...another one of Stain's gifts?" Morph asked. Deku grinned. "Dabi never even noticed. Let's go find ourselves a hacker." The Gang left the hideout and made their way around Hosu going from one computer store to the other. But on Deku's orders, they never entered any. Like this, three hours passed. "What are we doing, Deku?! Why aren't we entering the stores?"
"I'm looking for something. Well, someone actually." At that moment they stopped outside another technology-related store where an employee got kicked out, right in front of them. "Please, sir!" he said. "I really need this job! And I love working with technology!"
"I've told you before, we don't need you here anymore, and yet you keep coming again and again! We already replaced you with someone who has an actual Quirk that can help us way faster than you can! So get your ass out of here!" The manager of the store yelled back. Deku smiled. "Bingo." Stain had also been able to teach him how to identify those weak of heart, and how to give them a helping hand so that they will be indebted to you. In a way, the employee reminded Deku of himself. Deku walked up to him. "Why do you need this job so bad?" The man looked at Deku and seemed to recognize him. "You...you were on the news! You robbed a bank!"
"Just answer the question." Deku said, a little more menacingly. The man gulped and answered. "Well...uh...I love technology but since I'm Quirkless, companies and day-to-day shops aren't hiring me and as a result, I'm running out of money I need to survive." Deku's eyes gleamed. You could almost see Stain in them for a brief moment. "Society doesn't seem to take notice of how badly they treat the Quirkless, does it?" The man stared at Deku. "You're right. It...it's not fair."
"Indeed. And that is why, I'm here. To give you another chance. You work for me, and I'll provide you with everything you need to live healthy." The man's eyes widened. "You really mean it?!" Deku chuckled. "We literally have an unlimited supply of food at the moment."
"I won't have to do any dirty work though right?"
"None at all. We just need your skills in technology. You CAN hack, right?" The man smiled widely. "YES! I'm an expert!"
"Well then let's go. But let me warn you..." The cold look returned in Deku's eyes. "...if you mess with us, you will regret the day you met me." The man nodded. "I'm Koichi. Koichi Kujo. But you can call me KK." Deku nodded. "Come." They made their way back to the Hideout and Deku told KK his plan. "The LEAGUE?! You want me t- oh hell yes. I shall not fail you." Within an hour, KK had hacked into the frequency. "Not only the frequency, but the entire private internet that they use as well. These devices are not ordinary coms. They use a frequency ON an Internet connection. The Internet allows them to set up a firewall around their communication system. Now we can hear all audio even if they are on video. All we gotta do is wait." KK said. The rest of the Gang were impressed. They waited for quite some time until they finally heard something. This is when they heard the conversation between All For One and Shigaraki.
Present
Deku got up. "This is it. Our chance. Morph, follow me." He took her outside. "Since this is the moment we truly begin our adventure, I want you to make us some outfits from the amounts of cloth you can find in the trash. Of course, we'll wash it after that. But well...make us look...strong. Presentation is important as well." Morph smiled. "With pleasure." She worked for the next few hours fashioning three outfits. Once they were done, she presented them to Cook and Deku. "TA-DA!"
Deku's Villain costume was the same green as the colour of his Hero costume in the timeline we know of, but it was still quite different. For one, there was a red bandana (Morph thought it would be good for Deku to have something to remember Stain by) His boots were red with a few spikes, he wore black gloves and there was a black knife-holder around the waist that could hold around five knives. Cook's outfit was nothing special. It was just yellow goggles and looked a lot like Sugarman's suit. Morph's costume looked like a typical biker's outfit. The kind you see in movies, but without the helmet. On it, she had lots of pockets in which she started keeping as many metals and plastics and other things possible to be able to use them in battle when required.
Cook was surprised. "They look great and all...but why did you make one for me too? I'm not a fighter." Morph snickered. "Pfft. You literally trapped the Number One Hero in a giant donut. I think your skills might be useful after all."
"She's right." Deku said. "KK, do as I asked before we return." KK nodded. "Yes, boss!" All three of them properly put on their outfits and checked their equipment. "Let's go...to the Beasts' Forest!" Around the same time, Dabi began heading out with the other League Members. "Will you be there or not...Midoriya?" he wondered.
