Chapter 9

Mastering fire, light, and electricity

A/N

Before getting into the chapter, two new oc's Light beam and Terrance made their appearance in this chapter, more of the nine will show up later on including parts two and three.

Light beam's point of view

"Yes, we're glad to see you again Volteer, but it's not the time to waste on sentiment" Said Ignitus. "Back to Cynder... she was doing what to you?"

"Cynder's a chick?" The dragonfly asked.

"Dude, the rest of us was paying attention to what Ignitus said and now you realized Cynder's a girl!" the teen snapped.

"You should've paid more attention little dragonfly," I said calmly then added. "Please continue."

"It's hard to be absolutely sure, Ignitus. But it seems she was using me as some sort of suspended, organic power source..." Volteer answered.

"Huh?" The dragonfly asked.

"A battery," The older woman said.

"Oi, why didn't he say so." He replied.

"Not only that she also left with a powering yellow orb... and I believe that I somehow powered it. Do you know what it means?"

"Perhaps, perhaps... what I do know is that we must rescue the other guardians... before Cynder can power any more of those orbs." Ignitus answered.

"Power absorbing orbs, this isn't good." The teen said. "What would she be using them for?"

"I have no clue, ever since the battle at waterfall occurred my sister and fellow guardian of the nine, Darkri have disappeared." I said. "I should've sent a message earlier but it was a high risk of it getting it to the enemy on accident. After her disappearance I heard that you, Cyril, and Terrador went missing as well. I heard a rumor that she was sent to convexity, a dark side of your realm."

"Can you tell us about it?" the purple dragon asked.

"No... you are not ready yet," I answered. "Do you mind if I can teach the teen's aunt about light?"

"Of course, I'm sure Ursula and Tiwong might make their appearance soon as well." Ignitus answers.

"We'll make this quick on the balcony, Terrance should keep an look out." I replied.

"Very well," Ignitus said. "I assume I will help Alanna train in her fire element, but her's is much more different than the way Spyro's is."

"Uh, hello Auntie Light beam," Said a voice. "One of your nephews is here."

"Oh, hello Griph." I said. "I see that the teen beat you, and I know you're keeping my in law's promise."

"Yeah, I guess these "ice wrist" doesn't melt either, I wasn't even planning on escaping." He replied.

"We'll talk later, we need to get training started for these three." I told him.

I lead her to the balcony while Volteer lead Spyro to the dojo and Ignitus lead Alanna to a different room.

"Mastering light is rather difficult for those who doesn't understand it's property or power. Of course, light as a balance with its opposite darkness, without either, the other elements can't have their balance. Light not only gives energy to the living, there are those who is in need of it's energy as well." I explained. "There are those who use this gift for good and there are those who use it for evil, all elements are gifts if they're used well and right you will have a mastery of it. Now let's begin with your training."

I explained to her what abilities light is used and showed her how to wield it, she also was able to create a light shield at the end including light wings of her own, I was able to have time on helping her on flight. Once we're finished, we went back to the main room where Volteer was waiting with the purple dragon. Ignitus and the teen were the last ones to come back.

"Spyro and Alanna Cyril the ice guardian was taken to Tall plains, we need you four to go." Ignitus said.

"Do you think what you taught me is going to be useful?" Topanga asked.

"A few of your abilities is quite useful, but just remember if you use too much of it there are chances that you might pass out." I answered. "I think I have something that might help, use this. This can keep track on how much power you used, this works best for new users for your elements, when you feel more better use of them, you can take it off. It also works for your health too this saved our little sister from dying a few times."

"Good luck on your journey, Alanna will open a portal to there, once you're there you're on your own, if any locals are there ask where he is for clues." Terrance said. "This is certainly a good time since I studied that place."

"We're heading there now and we'll see Dan and Topanga in a bit." Said Alanna as they start to head out of the temple and flew to the direction to Tall plains.
