Sirius was out of breath when he was walking. He stopped with his hand on a wall and looked to a half-opened door. Sirius took a deep breath and walked over to it. He saw someone reading a book. However, when he knocked on the door. The book was gone, and Sirius smiled when he saw Remus Lupin laying there. The boy that he met a week ago. "Hey there," Sirius said walking into the room when Remus smiled at him. Sirius saw Remus holding a note pad and that is when he remembers that Remus doesn't speak. Remus waved and with a half-smile, but Sirius saw the worry in his eyes as he stared at the door. Sirius didn't blame him. He was worried about his parents coming back and hurting Regulus. Remus wrote something down and raised an eyebrow as he showed him the paper. Sirius looked at it. It read:
"Why are you here?" Sirius looked at Remus who was not meeting his eyes. He thought before he answered. Should he tell him? Should he tell him that they went through the same thing kind of? Sirius sighed before he looked at Remus right in his eyes before he said:
"My parents they um, they did this," Sirius showed him the mark on his neck that was underneath his hospital gown. Remus looked sadly at him. "They also broke my little brother's leg. My fault really. I should have protected him," Sirius walked over to the chair by Remus's bed and put his head in his hands. Remus shook his head and started to write. When he was done, he showed the paper to Sirius. Sirius looked up at it and read:
"I understand. I don't have a little brother, but I understand. I should have done that with my parents," Remus put the notepad down and let out a small breath.
"Yeah," Sirius said before the two of them fell silent.
Sirius left a few minutes later when a nurse came in followed by someone whom Sirius didn't want to talk to. He was walking back to his room now. His breath became heavy when he walked back to his bed. His brother was eating a laughing at the tv on the wall. He smiled at his little brother. "Hey Reg," Sirius said sitting back down and picking up the glass of water that sat next to him. He took a sip and looked over to Regulus who laughed again. "What are you watching?" Sirius asked Regulus but Regulus didn't answer for he was too busy watching the tv. Sirius smiled to himself. 'He's being a normal kid at least.' Sirius thought before he looked at the door when a nurse walked in with their lunch.
"Hello boy's I have your lunch here," she said giving Regulus his lunch and then Sirius.
"Thank you, ma'am," the Black brothers said at the same time. She smiled at them before she walked out of the room. Sirius and Regulus then started to eat but they didn't speak to each other.
