The sun rays bounce off of the glistening Spiral Tree. Causing an almost diamond blue light to shine from it. On top of this skyscraper is a fight to decide the fate of mankind.

Kaitana and Hildreck stare at each other as they stand on top of the Spiral Tree way above the clouds.

They stare, and they stare, and they stare. Waiting on someone to make the first move. The wind howls as their gaze intensifies.

WHOOSH

Kaitana DASHES forwards, leaving nothing behind but an afterimage of herself. She quickly draws her long blade as she attempts to slash at Messiah's vital points. Barely missing with each slash. Hildreck BARELY manages to deflect her attacks as Kaitana uses the momentum from his deflects to slash even harder with every consecutive hit.

"Arghh!" Hildreck says as he struggles to keep up with Kaitana's movement.

Hildreck backflips in an attempt to gain distance but Kaitana refuses to let up on her attack. She dashes once again as Hildreck switches to a more defensive stance. Kaitana continues with the same attack. Yet something is different... Her attacks are being parried as she barely has enough momentum to keep up.

One of her slashes hits slightly off. "Shit!"

Messiah twirls his scythe around and hits Kaitana dead in the face with the back end of it which sends her tumbling across the ground. Blood drips from her mouth as she quickly gets back up. Fortunate she did. Hildreck QUICKLY dashes towards Kaitana with killing intent. He gracefully maneuvers his scythe in a beautiful, yet abhorrent way.

With every slash, more power comes. With more power comes more speed. Kaitana struggles to keep up with Hildreck's intensity. Using Hildreck's momentum, she uses a grapple move and throws him across the ground. He takes his time getting back up and gazes at Kaitana.

"Th- There's no way we can talk this out... Is there...?" Kaitana asks.

Hildreck grits his teeth. "You...? You think I'll trust ANYTHING that comes out of your treacherous mouth...?"

Sadness enters Kaitana's heart as she finally realizes that there is no way to bring back the Hildreck she knows. No... no way to get him to understand.

A tear falls from Kaitana's right eye. "I... Understand..."

The fight is back to where it started. Yet it couldn't be closer to its end. They gaze into each other's eyes for the last time.

Hildreck looks into Kaitana's eyes. "I'm ending this... Now."

Kaitana nods in agreement.

WOOSH

They dash at each other once again. Ready to cross swords and end the fight.

"AAAAAHHHHH!" Kaitana yells as she runs.

"ARRRRRGGHHH!" Hildreck yells as he runs.

They race closer and closer to the point of no return. They both pull back their God Arch's in preparation for the final slash.

SCHINK

The sound of serrated metal puncturing the body echoes throughout the land as they stand still. Holding each other.

COUGH

COUGH

Confusion appears on Kaitana's face as she is unscathed. "Hildreck?!"

Kaitana removes her blade from Hildreck's stomach. She holds Hildreck in her arms as he cough's up blood.

"Wait...! No... Why...? Why didn't you kill me...? Why didn't you stab me...?

Messiah slowly opens his eyes as Kaitana's face lies only inches away. His face covered in her tears.

"Because... *COUGH* Because I've always... been alone... Sca- *COUGH* of betrayal... It hurts ca- *HACK* -ptain... I... was such a fool... I- I should ha- *COUGH* known... I thought that... That everything in life had become my enemy... I thought... I thought I was alone... *COUGH* I'm... so sorry Kaitana... So... very... sorry..." His eyes slowly close as his body goes limp.

Hildreck dies... with a smile.

Kaitana wraps her arms around Hildreck's body. "Why...? I said it wouldn't happen...! *sniff* But it happened anyway...! I lost someone else... WHY DAMNIT!"

She punches the ground out of anger. "AAAAAAHHHHH-"

SCHINK

The sound echoes once again as a blade enters Kaitana's chest.

Hildreck's sister Luminaire looks Kaitana in the eye. "Why...! Why did you kill him?! WHY DID YOU KILL MY BROTHER!"

Kaitana Looks Luminaire in the eye. "This... *COUGH* This is the first time... I've seen your eyes Luminaire..."

Kaitana smiles. "You're... so pretty...!"

The life in her eyes fade as her body goes limp, signaling her death.

Luminaire rushes over to Hildreck with a sense of urgency. She wraps her arms around her brother. Crying into his chest while snot drips from her nose.

"Brother... I- I-…" She bursts into tears.

"Brother...! Why...?! I- I can't take *sniff* this pain... Not anymore... How am I supposed to live without you...? I wanted to give you the world! I wanted to... To achieve our dream...! I wanted to be there with you...! Why were you taken away from me!? M- My brother... I can't go on... I can't... this world... why? Why can't I have my brother...? WHY! I... I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN A WORLD WITHOUT MY BROTHER!

-over at Port Carter-

Nana finally reach Quinn. "Hey! We have to get ou-"

The earthquake greatens to an unprecedented magnitude. Knocking Quinn and Nana on their knees.

"What the hell is happening...?" Quinn asks.

A black mist secretes from the Spiral Tree. But not just any mist. Nana can see the sheer destructive power of the mist off in the distance. As the mist spreads it leaves nothing behind but a wasteland. Turning everything it touches into a lifeless corpse.

Nana is paralyzed with fear. "Wh- What d- do we do...?"

Quinn stares at the Spiral Tree.

He looks Nana in the eye. "Nothing... It's the end of the world..."

Nana drops to her knees. "NOOOOOOO-"

POOF

The mist touches Nana and Quinn as they turn into dust. The fog slowly encapsulates the world. Stripping everything it touches of all life. It continues until the Earth as we know it is nothing more than a black ball. Nothing more than a planet of death. Nothing...

Nothing... Nothing in this world matters. Your feelings, your name, you... It all in the grand scheme of things doesn't matter. And there is nothing you can do about it.
