Dreaming, dreaming, dreaming
Whatever he could lay his eyes on; pure white void. The purest of white, similar to pain, smooth as milk. It was all so surreal, he couldn't move, couldn't speak. Completely paralyzed; he didn't mind at all.
The spot that he was in, felt comfortable. Even if there was nothing he was laying on.
As he was laying on the ground just staring into the white void, he would see something.
Flowing in the wind that didn't exist in this space, a long string of blue cloth. Passing above him like a leaf in the wind...no like a blind bird flying wherever the wind guided it too.
Even if it was a single string of blue cloth, its shine countered the white void all around him. Evan wanted to reach out and grab onto it, but he couldn't he just wanted to feel it. Just...please...let m-
The floor was moving a little, loud talking and lots of noise. It was somewhat similar to his family first thing in the morning, maybe going on a trip or something. As he opened his eyes slowly, he rubs his eyes slowly.
"Mmmmm...good morning" The sun would sort of hurt his eyes, as he got up from the place he was sleeping on. Evan noticed that...he was actually on a bed. Calling it a makeshift bed was more sitting, he was laying on two sheets of blankets as a light sheet was covering him.
Gaia: "Child! Your awake, we were so worried about you"
Kairos: "Evan! Your back and running! That's good to see"
"Good morning you two, god I feel like shit"
Gaia: "makes sense, you were asleep for almost two days"
Kairos: "Yeah man, you were knocked out. Taking down those ligers must have taken a lot out from your"
"Holy shit, I was asleep for 2 days. So that's what it feels like to be that sleepy. Well, I am good….for now"
Evan would notice that most of his stuff was lying near him. His cloak, scarf, jacket, crystal lamp, map, sword. His normal clothes were still on him, even his socks. As he sat up straight and crack his back, the popping noise would be heard in his ear. His back felt better at least.
Getting up, he put everything on. Everything that he stole from that night was pretty good, really made him play into the whole "Wander of the sands" kind of vibe. Once he got everything on, he left his sword, the map, and the crystal lamp.
Walking towards the exit to this wagon, he moved the tarp that was coving the outside.
Even more, sunlight would fill his eyes blinding him again for a little, when his eyes started to adjust to the light he saw what was around him.
There were rows of wagons all parked together in two lines, there were about 4 others wagons there. The one he was in being the fifth. Close to the parked wagons were tents, he couldn't count them all since he was too lazy and hungry, just from looking he can tell there was a lot.
There were fires all burning dimly, people sitting around said fires cooking food and making small talk. No wonder it was so loud, this was a freaking large-scale camp.
Jumping off from the wagon, his body felt weightless and heavy at the same time. His vision darkened for a moment before coming back to normal, his body did as well. Walking towards the camp, there were mostly demi-humans with normal humans. That part made him a little, what was the word. "Outcasted". Evan wondered about something, he would remember those people he helped.
There were...like...four of them? His memory of foggy, but good enough that he could remember their voices Now to look for them, where could they be?. While he was walking towards the camp, one of the people there, wearing the same white with yellow strips would walk up
Guy 1: "Hey, you're the guy. I am guessing your wondering what's happening" The guy would walk next to him as he pointed to a tent larger than the others "you'll find Captin Weilkens talking with others"
"Thanks, man" walking through the camp, eyes were on him. He could maybe hear people whisper about him, but he was just walking towards the main tent. When he got there, he saw two large demi-human guards standing in front of the tent
"Ummmm, excuse me...can I talk to...Ricardo welkins?"
The two guards standing in front of the human, guarding the tent entrance. One of them would peek their head into the tent, saying something
?: "he's awake, bring him in here then!" a voice would speak from the inside, from what he can hear, it was Ricardo Welkin's.
?: "You may enter"
"Thank you"
The guards would move aside to let Evan in, so he stepped forward and moved the tarp to revealed what was inside. The tent was large for his large size, the bed on the floor was almost three times his size, there were boxes filled with items, with a mana crystal lamp hanging from above-giving light during nighttime.
Ricardo: "So, you're finally away huh. You're a sleeper ya know"
"Totally, but damn did it feel good huh. But man….I didn't think I'll be knocked out for that long"
Ricardo: "Don't sweat it kiddo, you did well a few days ago"
"Oh stop it, you falter me"
Ricardo: "HAHAHAHAH, your funny kid I'll give you that. But tell me, kid. Why were you out here"
"Why? Well...let me tell you how I got there"
Then Evan would start to talk about his adventure through the sands of karargi. Sure he didn't mention the whole "Different world" thing, he only told his spirits about that part. Evan went on to explain him traveling through the desert, about the slavers, the night that he escaped, the spirits that he contracted with. How he got to the little canyon, but evan thought that the team he saved already told him
Ricardo: "well, I have to say, Kid. You got the heart of a survivor I'll tell ya that. Damn slavers, even taking in children" His face would think back to the time when he was a slave himself, not good memories at all. But he looked back to the kid "But it's good to see you're doing fine, you got anything else you want to know?"
"Yeah, about the squad I saved. Where are they? I just want to say hi to them"
Ricardo: "From here? Maybe around the right side of the camp"
"Right side, a good thing to know. Also, you mind if I tag along with your group to get to a city"
Ricardo: "Don't worry! We'll get ya to the ninth city"
"Thanks, man, I needed it. Also, If the ninth city doesn't work for me. You mind if I could join you guys. I might not look like it, but I am a good fighter"
The large demi-human would raise his hand to his chin, it seems that he was thinking about that. After a few seconds of thinking, he would give an answer
Ricardo: "The Fang of Iron is a fighting force, one of the toughest. Getting in is no easy task to get in if ya prove yourself worthy. Maybe just fighting and beating a higher rank, or maybe fight me. Maybe I'll let you join"
That sounded like a far deal, fighting someone who has more experience would be for the better. Evan could ask Ricardo to find him someone to fight, but fighting Ricardo himself. Oh, that was suicide, he was a skilled warrior no doubt about it. If he fought him, he would get slapped around like a doll.
"That seems far indeed, I am gonna find that group. But thank you, Sir Ricardo"
Ricardo: "Thank you for saving that group, now get out of here ya sandboy" Ricardo was joking around as always. Evan didn't mind at all, it was fun
"Yeah, yeah I know. Thanks once again" He would bow with respect, which Ricardo did back as well.
Stepping out from the large tent, he would walk away from the tent. He started to look to the right side of the large camp. This place was very lively, to say the least, man it felt great to see people again
"Gaia, Kairos. Can you guys look around and find that team I saved. I don't want to look around the camp for too long you know"
Gaia: "Don't worry dear child, we'll look for them"
Kairos: "We got this Evan, leave it to me"
The two spirits would appear from above Evans's head, then they would fly out towards the right side of the camp to look around. Then himself he would start looking as well, walking around the camp he would just give glances to the people.
Demi-humans of all kinds, from cats, dogs, lizards, he even saw dwarfs here. A lot of people, so many backgrounds. It was very...well...overwhelming at first, but slowly he got used to it. Evan just kept on looking around.
His stomach would turn, grumbled from the smell in the air. Evan hasn't eaten anything cooked in days, only eating dried meat and water. He just needed to endure it for a little while longer, until he finds them.
While he was walking, Kairos would fly back to Evan at mass speed. Passing him and having to circle to him. Once Kairos would fly to him and speak
Kairos: "Evan, I found them. Just keep going forward" The spirit would turn around and speak once more "Turn left when you see the grindstone"
"Thanks, Kairos. Go get Gaia and tell her to come back to me. Got it"
Kairos: "You got it, boss"
Kairos would then fly into the camp once more, Evan himself would walk forward until he saw a grindstone. While he was walking, again people were looking at him, in which Evan would look back with a smile
Sure it was strange to see, but he just wanted to be nice for the most part. Walking still, he would make sure to keep his cloak near him. Since he didn't want anyone stepping on it, making his trip.
As he was walking, he would make it to the grindstone. He saw someone spinning the stone and sharping people's swords. He had an idea. Since he had a sword himself, maybe he could ask. So he would walk up to the guy.
"Umm, Hello. You mind sharping my sword. Been through a lot, so could you please?"
The guy would look up, he stopped spinning the stone. Evan would give him his sword to let him check. The guy would un-sheath the sword to check.
?: "Yeah, this sword could need a good sharping. Come back in a few minutes, after I'll make sure it's able to cut through those ma-beast varmints"
Evan would nod slowly, giving up his sword so he can sharpen it. Evan would turn left, he just kept on walking. Then he would hear some familiar voices
?: "Hey, do you think that man is awake yet/ it's been days"
?: "Don't worry, Almon. You've been like this for a while"
?: "I just hope he lets me ride that "bike" he has or something. Looks fine to ride"
?: "he did use a lot of mana during that chase, but I hear people talking around. Seeing him"
Gaia: "Dear Child, I know it's been a long time since you talked to someone. But you got this. Just act yourself"
"Easier said than done, I got this...I got this"
Walking up to the group that was sitting near a cooking fire. There was a spot that wasn't taken, so he would walk there slowly. The whole team would be too busy talking to each other, Evan would sit down next to the guy, he would then speak
"Hey, guys. It's been a while or something right?"
Almon would look to his side, seeing the man that saved them sort off. Then he spoke
Almon: "Well shit, looked who finally wake up"
