Hi Friends,
Are you liking it so far?
it is written around the Into Darkness movie so i have skipped over describing the dramatic action scenes because the movie does a better job than I could.
Feel free to listen to the song 'Call Me' by Shinedown which helped inspire this fic :)

Kirk was prepared to do whatever it took to complete this mission. Whatever it took! His orders were to hunt down and kill that bastard. Kirk was planning on doing exactly this – being ordered to do it just made the logistics easier. The memories of seeing his friend, mentor and closest thing to a father, dead, was still fresh in his mind. Kirk was going to make Khan pay for murdering so many people, but most of all he was going to make him pay for murdering Pike!

Despite his burning desire to see Kahn die up close and personal, he would settle for dropping a torpedo on him and watching from afar as per Admiral Marcus' orders. He was prepared for Spock to voice his disagreement using logic as to support his position. He was NOT prepared for himself to agree with the back-stabbing Vulcan, but conceded that it is what Pike would have done. So now they were preparing to fly down and arrest a hostile fugitive, on a planet they were not allowed to go near, and right under the nose of a hostile enemy. Yep, this couldn't possibly go wrong.

He had been hit, punched, body slammed, had his head thrown into the ground, and kicked in the chest by the Klingons, aggravating his head and chest injuries. He literally had the air knocked out of him and his head was spinning. Spock and Uhura covered him while he regained himself, and they should all have got straight back to the ship, but something about being face-to-face with Kahn infuriated him so he stood up put his battered body to work on hurting Kahn, but being barely able to breath made it a pathetic 'fight'.

Back on board his head was still spinning and starting to throb something fierce in time with his heart beat and his stomach contents were starting to strongly protest against staying put while he was talking with Kahn. Even though he didn't feel like it, at least he looked like a captain having grabbed his gold shirt from an ensign on his way past him, and stopping at one of the corridors bathrooms to quickly clean himself up.

After his chat with Kahn, he beelined for his quarters to grab a fistful of anti-inflammatories and pain killers that he keeps hidden in his room so he can avoid going to medical. Once they kicked in he would be much more clear headed to deal with their new evolving dilemma.

Returning to the bridge he caught up with the details of the situation. He was shocked by just how far Admiral Marcus was prepared to go to cover up what he had done. He was faced with losing his ship, his crew and it was looking like there was nothing he could do about it. It was becoming a 'No-Win Scenario'. He didn't believe in those, there is always something that can be done, always, wasn't there?
The call from Scotty was the spark he needed to think of a way out of this, sure it was a highly risky long shot, but he had to try.

As he crouched next to Kahn in the waste expulsion chamber he was barely holding himself together, but he had to push everything aside to do what was needed – being shot from one ship to another through a debris field using flight suits. With a untrustworthy, homicidal superman as his wingman.
Luck seemed to be on their side though as they survived, but with a rough landing. Now he can add a sore back to his growing list of injuries. At least the adrenaline and drugs were keeping him focused and upright.

Following Kahn and fighting their way through the ship they reached the bridge without much of an incident and opened fire – stunning the crew. Kirk ordered Scotty to drop Kahn before he could sabotage them, but that just pissed him off and now Kahn was turning on Kirk. Kahn got in a few punches and a dirty knee to the groin before knocking him out. Upon regaining consciousness and attempting to get himself up, Kahns boot rammed into his chest and succeeded in breaking two ribs.

Next thing Jim knew he was being transported into the Enterprise brig. He was still trying to get himself upright while checking on the shocked Carol, when the ship jolted sending everyone painfully to the floor. The ensign securing the brig quickly disengaged the force field releasing the three of them. Jim was using all he had in him to help get Carol to the Med Bay. Upon arriving Jim shouted for McCoy who got a nearby nurse to put Miss Marcus on a biobed. Jim walked over to where Bones was working and leaned heavily on the foot of the bed. McCoy must have been concentrating on his patient because he seemed not to notice anything wrong with Jim, but then again he only get to see him for 40 seconds before the ongoing critical situation demanded their attention again.
