Finally it's time to head home. It's been two days since we got the case from the Chief and finally we get to go home. We managed to catch the son of a bitch that we were hunting. For the last two days I haven't seen my girlfriend for. I know I should have rang her but something always came up. So I ended up sending her a quick text saying that I was still stuck at the precinct.

I walked down the stairs of the bullpen with Jay, and Hailey. As soon as we were walking past the front desk we were stopped by Trudy.

"Hold it you three," she said and we all stopped walking and looked at her.

"What's wrong Platt we just want to get home," Jay whined.

"Have any of you seen Burgess? She hasn't been in for the last two days and I haven't heard anything from her," Platt asked us.

"What?" Hailey asked.

"We've been stuck on a case. I can check to see if she's at home and I'll get you to give you a call," I told her and she nodded her head letting us walk out of the precinct.#

As soon as the three of us walked into the apartment we let out a breath of relief.

"I need a drink," Jay said walking into the kitchen.

"I'm going to go and see if Kim's in my room," I said walking through the apartment and going to my room.

As soon as I walked in I felt something was off. The bed looked exactly how I left it two days ago when me and Kim left the house to go to work and it looks as though no one has slept in it. I walked into the en-suite and also noticed that it was empty. Where the hell is she?

I quickly dialled her number and after a few rings it went to voice-mail. Something is really wrong she normally picks up when I ring her. Even before we were dating she did. I walked back into the living room and saw that Jay was sitting on the sofa with Hailey at the side of him curled into him.

"Everything ok Erin?" Jay asked me.

"Kim isn't here," I said.

"Maybe we could go and try her apartment," Hailey said.

"Yeah maybe she's at home," Jay said.

"Doubt it. Ruzek didn't leave the apartment that's why she was staying here and if she was going to be going back to her apartment she would have told me," I replied.

"You might be worrying for no reason. Have you tried calling her?" Jay asked.

"Yeah it went to voice-mail," I replied. "She normally picks up she always has even before we began dating," I told them.

"Ok we'll go check her apartment," Jay said standing up along with Hailey.

We left the apartment and made our way across the city to Kim's apartment. As soon as we got there we walked up to her apartment. Jay knocked on the door and there was no answer. I picked up the rug that was on the ground and grabbed the spare key that Kim placed under it.

"How did you know that was there?" Hailey asked.

"Kim always has kept a spare under the doormat. She told me the first time I came here," I replied and I unlocked the door. We walked in and saw clothes all over the floor.

"I doubt she's here," Jay said. "Kim's a neat freak and would have the place immaculate." We walked through the apartment and saw no sign of Kim.

"Don't you guys think it's strange that Ruzek hasn't been to work in two days, and neither has Kim," Hailey asked us.

"Kim wouldn't go back together with him," I snapped.

"We don't know that. Maybe she might have wanted him. She was his fiancée Erin," Jay said.

"Trust me Kim would never go back together with him," I told them.

"Ok so now what do we do?" Jay asked.

"I'm going to call Voight," I said. I dialled in his number and he picked up after a few rings.

"Voight."

"Hey Hank have you heard from Kim at all?"

"Burgess? No I haven't why?"

"It's just none of us can get hold of her."

"How long has she been missing?"

"Well Platt said she hasn't been to work for the last two days and she hasn't heard from her."

"Ok. Get to the precinct and call Atwater," he said and then hug up.

As soon as I told the other two what he said Jay rang Atwater and we all made our way towards the precinct.

Let the investigation begin.
