Chapter 4
Next day...
As the day shift workers work on getting some of the old facility cleaned away, one hears noises coming from the vents surrounding a sealed off elevator but ignores it as mice, which will be taken care of in due time. However...
"Ow! Hey! Watch it! This isn't easy!" came a voice, which none of the workers heard as the vents were so sound insulated, it would be impossible to hear anything but a bomb going off in them.
"Sorry! Can't see anything!" came another voice, this one sounding smaller and squeaky.
"Are we going the right way?" came a third voice, this one quiet and almost impossible to hear.
"I think so. Quick! Someone give me an eye." said the first one and from one of the vents, a small blue colored eye pokes out and looks around the area, "What do you see Bon-Bon?"
"I see a lot of workers I don't recognize. I don't see any of the others. Wait...oh no!"
"What? What is it?"
"They're sending our bodies to the incinerator room!"
"The incinerator room?! Crap! Alright people, let's move!"
The movement noises from the vent become faster and move towards the Incinerator Room, which was a new room built by the new owners to dispose of unwanted equipment or animatronics, without the price of dismantling. A worker is seen setting up the Incinerator with a bunch of empty animatronic shells that look purely metallic for incineration. The process is largely automatic but requires a setup on a conveyor belt that leads into the machine designed to melt down parts, scraps, and garbage. After setting it up, he leaves the room unaware of a vent cover falling out of place in the room, followed by a tangled mass of wires and eyes.
"Ow! Okay, everyone, work together!" came the first voice as the tangled mass formed into a semi-solid form and moved towards the Incinerator control console but loses coherence quickly.
"I knew we forgot something! Quick! Whoever's arm is out front, go for the console!" came the first voice again as a bunch of eyes looked frantically for the owner of the wiry mass of an arm that lay near the console.
"Oh! That's my arm!" came another voice before the arm begins crawling up onto the control console, "Wait, I can't see what button to push!"
"Get an eye up there!"
Several wires began to work on getting an orange eye up onto the control console at which point, the conveyor belt is stopped and the metal shells are barely stopped from being rolled into the incinerator and the tangled mass lets out a collective sigh of relief.
"Wait, someone's coming!" came the quiet voice again.
The tangled mass of wires quickly, or as quickly as a a sentient mass of wires and animatronic eyes can, moves into the shadows of the room as another worker enters the room. The worker looks at the stopped conveyor belt and grumbles as they go to restart the belt.
"What do we do?" asked a fourth voice quietly to its other three components.
The eyes all look unsure on what to do before before the tangled mass lunges and wraps around the worker before they can react. They struggle for a few seconds before they pass out from a lack of air. The tangled mass then unwraps and sets the worker against the wall silently.
"We can't do this to every worker that comes in here. They'd get suspicious of something going on." came the quiet voice.
"I got an idea! Quick, find me and Bon-Bon's parts." came the first voice of the tangled mess as it moved over to the parts on the conveyor belt and began to sort through the pile of empty metal parts. Within moments, all of the parts are found and wires begin to go into the bodies. After a few moments, a 8 foot tall purple-white-pink metallic "Freddy" styled bear with a small metallic blue bunny hand puppet is seen getting the last few parts of into position on his body, the bunny working on getting his ears into position. Once the body is fully closed up on both, the bear checks his right hand works as he has several objects pop out around the wrist one by one like a giant swiss-army knife, none of the items being dangerous though, save for the old styled can opener.
"Okay, everything is in working order." said the bear.
"I feel like we're forgetting a feature though." said the blue bunny as he gained a thoughtful look.
The two think a moment.
"Oh! I know!" said the bear.
"What?" asked the smaller bunny.
"The Rocket Propelled Bunny launcher!"
"Wait, I don't have my helmet!"
The small hand puppet animatronic is suddenly launched into the partially wooden ceiling and he folds his arms over each other as he hangs there with his head stuck in the ceiling.
"It works!" said the bear as he carefully pulled the bunny out of the ceiling.
"Could have just removed me and tested it." muttered the bunny angrily.
"Freddy, Bon-Bon, aren't you forgetting something?" came the quiet voice as the tangled mass of wires tapped a wire-frame hand on the floor.
"Oh right! Sorry guys!" said FunTime Freddy as he opened up his stomach storage compartment unit and begin putting the other parts inside.
"You didn't explain your plan though." came another voice.
"Oh right. You guys get back into the vents, following me the best you can, and then, once I find a safe place for you guys, you get back into your bodies while I try to find the others and we figure out how to get this place back under proper management." said FT Freddy as he finishes putting the parts into his stomach storage compartment.
"Freddy, you're an eight foot tall, half ton animatronic that has the loudest voice possible." said the owner of the green eyes in the mass of wires.
"I'm not THAT loud."
"Eh, you can kind of scare people when you manage to sneak up behind them." said Bon-Bon.
"That's for surprise parties though! Just trust me, I know what I'm doing here."
"I don't think we've got a choice here." said the owner of the orange eyes.
"It'll be fine. Trust me." said FT Freddy as he opened the door ever so slightly to peak out of the room.
The tangled mass shrugs before working on climbing back into the vents. The metallic bear goes over and puts the vent cover back into place as he carefully opens the door before shielding his eyes from the hallway lights, Bon-Bon doing the same.
"I forgot how bright these were." muttered the bear as he pulled sunglasses out for him and the smaller bunny and then continued out, his animatronic eyes adapting to infrared once the sunglasses are covering them. He looked both left and right before heading down the left hallway. The two walk for a ways before the smaller bunny taps FT Freddy on the shoulder to get his attention, the bear looking at his partner questioningly before he notices where he's pointing and looks. Despite using infrared, he instantly recognizes the dog animatronic sneaking through the shadows towards one of the under construction sections of the "new" establishment.
"Salty?" asked FT Freddy quietly but he was too far away for the dog animatronic to hear him. Not noticing the bear and bunny, the dog animatronic quickly moves through the shadows. FT Freddy thinks before he quietly moves to follow him. The duo follow Salty, the dog animatronic not noticing them as he leaves a sealed off section without noticing the metallic bear. Despite the infrared vision, FT Freddy notices the terrified look on the dog's face as he quickly leaves the area. He then decides to see what that was about and once he's certain that Salty is gone, he heads into the sealed off room himself.
Once inside, he notices the small human shaped bag in the corner of the room, half buried. Due to it being darker, the bear removes his sunglasses, as does Bon-Bon. As FT Freddy gets closer to the bag, he notices red splotches near the top. Once he's over the bag, he bends down and slowly reaches for it. He pulls his hand back, hesistant for a moment before he decides to just get it over with and pulls the bag down a bit and his eyes widen at what he sees while Bon-Bon gasps.
"Salty wouldn't do this. Would he? Fred?" said Bon-Bon before looking at the larger bear whose eyes shift between blue and red before the bear grabs his head and shakes it clear. This worries the small bunny and he puts his hand on his friend's head gently.
"Sorry. Old protection protocols trying to flare up. No. Salty wouldn't do this, not intentionally. Something's wrong. Very wrong." said Fred (FunTime Freddy) as he covered the body back up, "We need to find the others, NOW."
The larger bear then gets up and leaves the room, putting on his sunglasses again and he goes to head back the way he came before...
"HEY!"
He freezes and slowly turns to look and sees two workers advancing towards him.
"What the heck is this big bucket of bolts doing here? Wasn't he and his puppet supposed to be dismantled?" said one of the workers.
"Fred, what do we do?" whispered Bon-Bon to the larger bear who looks around rapidly with just his eyes, trying to think of a plan before he just points behind the two workers and starts screaming. This causes the workers to turn around in surprise. The two then notice the screaming has stopped and turn back around to see the metallic bear turning down a left hallway before coming back into view and going down the right hallway as two workers run after him.
"Someone stop that animatronic!"
Meanwhile, in one of the vents overlooking the hallways, the tangled mass of wires lets out an exasperated groan.
END CHAPTER
Updates for stories are restricted to three stories at the moment but not guaranteed for all three in a fast and timely manner as I still suffer from writer's block. The stories for which WILL get updates are: this one, Tails the Machine, and End of an Era, Beginning of a New. I am only working on these currently, despite how long it has been for ANY updates. I am not dead. Just suffering from bad writer's block, artist's block (for those who follow my Deviantart Art stuff) and a general mental overload at the moment.
Anyway, hope you enjoy this chapter and don't forget to read, leave a comment (constructive criticism is welcomed, destructive is not), like and/or follow.
