Chapter 6
The rest of the day I had been waiting for Dick to stop by his headquarters/home on their sad saggy couch. Starfire didn't return either. Wonders were filling inside my head. Were they together? I thought that all the Teen Titans worked together. Were they separated? If so, were they fighting crime by themselves? If they are actually together, are they even working? They have lives outside of the Titans, correct? I can't ask Garfield, he might think that I am only with him to get to Dick. I most definitely can not ask Cristiane, he's too smart. He'll ask me to leave and come back another time, and Garfield won't vouge for me.
"I wonder where Robin is. That's why you're here right?" Cristiane asked me with judging eyes.
"Honestly, the mayor wanted me to speak to him. Then I met Beasty Boy here, and he was so sweet. He offered to take me here." I smiled at Garfield as I gave him a compliment, "Isn't there five Teen Titans, though?"
"Starfire and Raven are out as well." Beast Boy said as he handed me a glass of water.
"You know, you have some resemblance with Raven." Cristiane said with his arms crossed.
There was no way he could know for sure if we were siblings or not. Not without my DNA at least. My hair was up in three buns so I didn't really have to worry if I shed some hair on the couch. The glass. This time I was one step ahead. I could not allow the glass to touch my mouth. My fingerprints are not on any database system on Earth, so I was in the clear.
"That's ridiculous. She is so beautiful and kind. I could never." I smiled, "Is there a place where I can take a nap by any chance. I don't know if you noticed, but I am kind of new to Earth. Jet-lagged." I yawned for extra emphasis.
"Of course." Beast Boy offered his hand to help me off of the couch.
I took the glass of water with me as I entered a room with a green door with the initials "B.B." on it. The room overwhelmed my senses. It was clean and dirty at the same time. It was relaxed yet put together. It was just lived in. The color scheme was blue gray and green. The room was also large in size. There was a large television with a console on the same stand. There was a perky love seat with a controller and headset on its cushions. The bed was behind a set of silky curtains. It was so dark, I couldn't even see the bed. A single light bulb flickered on, giving it a dim gloomy yellow. The sheets were a dark grey. The comforter was black, which was an unusual change to the mood of the room. This section was just more depressing.
I didn't get to explore more of the massive room, "Your room is massive, it's official, I'm jealous."
Something overwhelmed me in that moment. I felt alone, and vulnerable. I felt that there couldn't be more of a care in the world as long as I was in Garfield's room. The hole in my heart, started to ache. As Garfield started to pass back behind the curtain, I couldn't stop my mouth from opening, "Hey. I don't want to be alone."
I was scared of what he was going to say next. No. I couldn't be allowing my feelings of getting in the way of assassinating my sister. But to me Garfield was tall and lean. To the rest of the world, he was just a clown, there for the laughs to the fans. To the rest of the world, he was just short and insignificant. To me he was all I could see. Not the obvious reasons of why I should be alone. But the deeper reasons of why I shouldn't be alone, "You don't have to-"
"No. I'll keep you company." Garfield didn't even let me finish my thought, "You might look like Raven, but you are completely different."
"Please. Raven was always good at everything. Even when we were children. She was taller, prettier, and more talented. Especially nicer, she wants to change the world. That's what she said when she left." I said way too much, "Nevermind."
"Cyborg already told me you two were sisters." Garfield smiled, "But I am happy I got the pleasure of meeting you."
I sighed, knowing what was going to happen next, "You probably want me to leave don't you. For not exactly being honest with you about my intentions and relations with the Teen Titans, which includes you."
"That's not true. Cyborg told me you were in town since the second you walked in this morning. I found you on purpose, meaning we were both lying to one another." Cyborg was ahead of me the whole time? I thought I was smarter, I thought I was a step ahead.
Garfield and I started talking on his surprisingly soft mattress about anything and everything. It felt calming and relaxing. The one thing I didn't tell him about was the mission I gave to myself. In the back of my mind, I knew when it came down to it, I wouldn't be able to kill my sister. I did tell him Father's mission that he gave to me to fulfill.
"Well, are you?" Garfield scooched closer to me, his hand seemed to be dead limp on my thigh.
"I was going to lay down and think about it." I joked.
"You can do that with me."
