One Moment:

Everyone has that moment, that second in time when they realise they're in love. Ghost hadn't even realised it until it was too late. One moment, that was all it took to change the course of his life forever.

...

...

...

"When did you know you loved me?"

"The moment I saw you."

...

Ghost remember that day clearly. Soap had been telling him for weeks about the FNG joining them but Ghost hadn't paid much interest in the selection process. So when he entered Soap's office one day he found the most gorgeous man sitting inside who gave him a nervous smile. It was the smile, the way one corner of his mouth lifted higher and it shone in those green eyes. That was what had captured him at that moment.

"Ghost, this is Roach." Soap introduced them. "Ghost here is our Lieutenant."

"Nice to meet you." Roach had a pleasant, mellow voice with a soft English accent. When he stood Ghost found the man was a few inches shorter than him.

"Yeah." Ghost shook his hand and he had a firm grip. "Likewise."

When their eyes met, he was surprised to see amusement in Roach's. Soap cleared his throat pointedly and Ghost realised they were still holding hands. He quickly let go.

"I was just about to show Roach around the campus, care to join us?"

"Uh, can't... paperwork."

"Right." Soap rolled his eyes and stood up. "Come on then Roach, I'll give you the grand tour."

Once they had left the office, Ghost went around the desk to look at Roach's file. His name was Gareth Sanderson, twenty-seven years old and he was from the East Midlands. He looked at the photo, it was definitely an old one. His light brown hair was longer in the image and he wore a boyish grin. How long had it taken for that to disappear? If Roach had managed to join the Task Force, he had been through some rough shit for sure.

Although he'd used paperwork as an excuse he did have some to fill out and now he'd made the excuse he should do it. Sighing he sat down and opened the drawer Soap had designated him to find it almost full. So he had more than he thought, great.

Hours later he was finally done and in need of coffee. But when he entered the cafeteria it was to find Roach sat with a large group of the guys. He seemed to be fitting in well and the thought annoyed him. Not only was the new guy attractive he was also social, the complete opposite of himself.

Now annoyed he walked across the room and made a drink. He was surprised though when he turned and found Roach waiting behind him, that damn smile in place. "Ghost?"

"What?" He asked more sharply than he'd intended, still on edge. The last thing he wanted was to get close to this man so if he could push him away now, that was best.

Roach's smile didn't even falter. "Can we talk, somewhere more private?"

"Why?" He shrugged, not willing to say. After a moment Ghost sighed and led the way back into the corridors. "So?"

"Not private enough."

"Right." They ended up in front of Ghost's room and after a moment of indecision, he opened the door. "So what is it?"

Roach kissed him. It was sudden and unexpected and he reacted badly, shoving him away. He hit the desk and winced. Ghost glared at him. "What the hell?!" He was angry, not at Roach but himself because that kiss had felt amazing. He didn't want this but it seemed he couldn't control how he felt.

"Sorry." Roach sounded just as surprised. "I misread the signals."

"Damn right you did!" Ghost grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him upright. "What are you playing at?"

"I'm sorry. It's just... I've never felt this kind of attraction before." Roach smiled. "I really am sorry, it won't happen again."

That damned smile.

Ghost kissed him. He felt the shock in Roach's rigid body before it disappeared and hands were in his hair, pulling him closer. Then he was lifting Roach onto the desk, his belongings scattering across the floor but he didn't care. It had been such a long time since he'd touched somebody like this. The sex was hard and fast and so damn good it left him mindblown. The things Roach could do with his mouth was astounding.

"I like you," Roach said. "We should do this again."

Ghost opened one eye and saw he was smiling, the sight made his heart beat faster. "As long as we don't get caught. Soap will kill us."

"Deal."

...

Gary looked amused. "Seriously, the day we met? So you fell in love with me because I jumped you? We were complete strangers!"

"Yeah but the sex was good." It still was. Simon smiled and even now, even after all these years Gary's smile still made his heart race. "You know I'm a sucker for a man who knows what he wants."

"Well I still want you."

"So when did you know?"

Gary laughed. "The moment you walked into Soap's office and I saw you that first time. I'm a sucker for a mysterious stanger with good looks."

"So now you know me, do you still love me?"

"Of course!" Gary leaned in and kissed him. "Do you still love me?"

"Always."
