"He is the strongest of the Guardians; all other planetary warriors gain their power from him and him alone. He is protected by the Planet of Beginnings, the Guardian of Peace and Life. He is….Sailor Vestal."
Three sets of eyes stare at the Guardian of Time, blinking in rapid succession.
"The who now!?" asks Ventus
Pluto chuckles and turns to stare at Marcus
"Sailor Vestal, the Guardian of Peace and Life. He is the beginning of the planetary guardians."
"But… I thought that Sailor Moon was the first of the Senshi?" asks Pyrus
"Sailor Moon is the first of the Silver Millenium Senshi, yes, but it is time I told you all about what came before. Of the time when there was more magic than you can imagine."
With this, Pluto raised her staff into the air. The orb on end began to shine a brilliant purple before there was a giant ripping sound.
Vestal, Ventus, and Pyrus spun to their left as the space above the yard seem to twist and turn. The air seemed to warp in shades of blue and purple before a pair of giant ornate doors seemed to fade into existence before them.
"These are the Doors of Space-Time. They guard the past, present, and future."
Gesturing her staff towards the doors, they start to open.
"To understand why Vestal is here, we must journey to a time over 2,000 years BEFORE the Silver Millennium."
The trio turns toward the doors and stares into the white fog that lingers beyond.
"You want us to go in there!?" asks Ventus
Pluto nods
…
"Well, I, for one, want to know what the hell has happened to me. If this lady thinks that a trip to the past is the best idea, who am I to argue."
With that, Vestal walks towards the doors and pauses at the threshold.
"You coming?" he asks, glancing back at Pyrus and Ventus
The two girls look at each other before striding forward as well
As a group, the three walk past the doorway and into the endless fog of time that lies beyond.
Pluto silently follows them in. She disappears from view. The doors slowly close before fading into nothing, leaving a scared yard the only evidence that anything has happened.
VENTUS
"Ok now, where are we"...
Everywhere I look, I see nothing but this thick ass fog. As I make my way through the mist, I try to make out the shapes of my friends.
"Pyrus, Vestal, you guys there?"
….. Nothing. Just a defining silence answers me
'Ok, now I am getting freaked out.'
"Guys, come on, where are you, stop messing around."
"Ventus"
Huh. I look around, trying to spot who just called me
"Hello. Is someone there?"
"Ventus…."
"Hey, show yourself. Where are you!"
"Ventus!"
Out of nowhere, a bright green light appears in the fog.
'What is that.
Cautiously I step towards the light. As I get closer, I start to make out a vaguely humanoid shape in the morning.
"Hey, who's there" I shout
Just as I am about to reach the light, it flares up to the point that makes me turn away so I am not blinded.
Blinking the spots out of my eyes, I look back at the figure that was in the light show.
"Who the bloody hell are you!?"
Standing in front of me is a female-looking creature. The creature wore an ornate-looking mask with yellow feathers making a crown of sorts and clad in green robes of alternating shades. A large emerald sits in the middle of the height.
"Hello Ventus, It is good to meet you again finally."
'Well, this just got weirder.'
"Um, hi, who are you?"
"I am Oberus, The guardian deity of wind, strength, and storms. I am one of the six protectors of the planet Vestal. I have watched over this planet since before humans had first created fire. I have been waiting for eons to meet you, the champion of my element."
"Wait, so your like, what 10000 years old or something?"
"Something like that." Oberus chuckles
Gesturing to her left, I spy a temple of sorts.
"Come, it is time I tell you about your past, Sailor Ventus. It is time to learn the truth of Vestals Sailor Guardians and how they came to protect the Earth so long ago."
With that, she seems to glide towards the temple, her robes billowing in a non-existent wind.
Shaking my head, I silently follow her into the temple.
'I hope Marcus and Rachael are doing ok on their own.'
Elsewhere in the fog, Sailor Pyrus was dealing with her situation. When the group had entered the Space-Time doors, everyone had been separated and dropped into different places across the field of space-time. Each of them facing a different and potentially dangerous situation that, unbeknownst to them, would help lead to the answers about Vestal's past.
PYRUS
"Well, shit... this is just great. Seriously, every time Pluto shows up, something ALWAYS happens. Last time it was those crazy Nazi people from another Earth. Now it's this bullcrap."
'This stupid fog is getting on my nerves… grrrr.'
As I stalk through the fog fuming about the situation with Marcus, I can't help but wonder why he never woke before now.
'Well, he was never in any life or death situations like today, so that could be it. But he was there during the nazi invasion in Central City. I don't understand why he didn't wake up then?!'
"UGH, this is impossible!"
"Well, isn't this an interesting sight"
I whip around in the direction of the voice and stop as I see the glowing figure that wasn't there a moment ago.
"Really now, I would think that MY champion would act more like the warrior she is rather than the whining brat I see before me."
"Just who the hell do you think…."
"Silence, child, and remember your tone when in the presence of your elder."
I gape in shock as my anger begins to grow at the being.
"Now straighten up Rachael, it is time to see how you deal with a real fire master."
Suddenly, the being starts to glow a bright red-orange color. I cover my eyes as the light intensifies. Then through the light, I see him change. His form is enveloped by vast amounts of red hot flames that seem to grow and expand until he is the size of a two-story house. As the light and flames fade away, I have to do a double-take at what I see before me. The man was now a vast red and orange bipedal dragon with eight enormous wings fanning his back. He is covered in a sort of scale armor, colored a deep red.
"Holy crap…."
"Now let us begin…. MAXIMUM PYRUS TORNADO!"
I barely have time to jump out of the way before a colossal tornado of fire comes blasting towards me.
"Hey, what are you doing!"
"Testing you now pay attention."
"Infinity WAVER!"
Again I barely miss getting hit by the wave of fire that he sends at me.
'Ok, time to fight back.'
Bringing my hands together, I sweep them in a circle before cupping them to my side. The ring of fire that grew around me condenses in my hands as I send my attack towards the man-dragon.
"Pyrus… WILDFIRE TSUNAMI!"
I let loose a massive torrent of fire that sweeps across the area. It hits the dragon with the force of a real tsunami, blasting him back off his feet and onto the ground a good 500 feet away.
"How's that for you, huh."
The dragon stands back up, and I can see scorch marks all over his body and armor.
"Hahaha, not bad, Pryus, not bad at all. You are more powerful than I thought you would be, good because you are going to need that power for what is coming."
With that, he starts glowing again, shrinking back down to the man he was, although a bit singed.
"Now, will you tell me where I am and who the hell you are!?"
"I am the guardian deity of fire, wisdom, and spirits. I am one of the six protectors of the planet Vestal, the planet from which you originate. I am called Apollonir. I am here to help guide you to the answers that you seek about your past and your friend Marcus."
I can't help but stare at him, wondering how I always end up in these situations.
"Well, lead the way then, mister dragon man. I am getting tired of not knowing what the frack is happening nowadays."
He chuckles and gestures to his right. I follow his hand and see a massive pagoda bathed in brilliant reds and greens towering over us.
"This way, my champion, it is time to tell you all you want to know."
As I follow him towards the tower, I silently wonder if the others are getting visited by their deities like I have been.
