He chuckles and gestures to his right. I follow his hand and see a massive pagoda bathed in brilliant red towering over us.
"This way, my champion, it is time to tell you all you want to know."
As I follow him towards the tower, I silently wonder if the others are getting visited by their deities like I have been.
VESTAL
Fog….that is all I see in every direction—stretching out before me is an endless sea of purple-grey haze. Turning towards Pluto, I startle slightly when I see that Ventus and Pyrus are missing.
"Guys….. hello, guys?"
"Do not worry, Marcus. Pyrus and Ventus are fine. They are receiving visits from their past, as you will see yourself in a moment."
"What do you mean by visits?"
"She means me, young king."
Spinning around, I come face to face with what I could only describe as an ethereal angel. She is nothing like what modern society says angels look like; no, she is even more beautiful and transcendent. She is wrapped in a shining white light that seems to emanate from her very skin. Long blond hair rolls down her shoulders, framing a face that I could only describe as being like that of Lady Galadriel from Lord of the Rings. Power seems to come off her in waves that wrap around me, leaving a feeling of utter peace and warmth. Her pure white dress appears to billow in a nonexistent wind as it sparkles like diamonds in the sun.
"Who, who are you?" I ask breathlessly
"Do not be afraid, my child. I have been waiting a very long time to meet you. It has been many Millennia since we last saw each other, though you do not remember due to the circumstances of your past."
I glance over at Pluto, silently asking for an explanation of what is going on.
"All will be explained in due time, my king." She says.
'Great, another cryptic response. She reminds me way too much of Professor Paradox from Ben 10.'
Turning back to the mystery woman, I see that she has stopped glowing and stands in front of me now with a slight smile on her face.
"Ahem, so um, who are you, why am I here, and what the heck happened to me with the freaky light show and the monster and.."
She laughs a little at my rambling.
"Do not fret, Marcus; I will explain everything. Come let us sit so that I can explain what has happened and who you are."
Waving her hand, a large table with three ornate chairs materializes out of the fog. She gestures for me and Pluto to sit.
Taking a seat in one of the chairs, I stare at her waiting for the explanations to begin.
"To answer your first question, my child, I am known as Code Eve."
"Code Eve? Ok strange, but whatever."
"Yes, it is a bit strange, but that is what my children named me after I created them. You see, long before humans were created by my sister Gaia on the Earth, I had created a race of beings called Vestals on a planet far away from earth, located in a different dimension. I came into being billions of years before my sister and had seen many different species come and go from my planet before I decided to create my children. I sowed the seeds of their creation in the waters of my planet, using the six elements that were present to help start them on their journey."
"Wait, what do you mean by six elements?"
She smiles and waves her hand once more. In the air the table, six images appear in a circle. Each of them had a different symbol shining in a different color: red, blue, green, yellow-white, light brown, and purple-black.
"On my planet, I created six main attributes that made up everything on Vestal. Earth would inherit something similar but much more detailed than mine."
She points to the symbol in red, and it grows while the others seem to fade to the background a little.
"The first one I created was the element of Pyrus, like that of your friend Rachael. This attribute was the element of fire. It represented fire, wisdom, and spirits."
The blue one then replaces the red symbol.
"The second attribute is the one of water, Aquos. This element represented patience, rebirth, destruction, and power."
Green then replaced blue.
"The third attribute is that of the sky, Ventus. It represents the wind, strength, and storms. This is the element that your friend Eliza is the champion of."
The green then fades to the light brown symbol.
"This is the attribute of Subterra. The element for the earth. This one is closely tied to your power, my child. It represents life, peace, power, and the unbreaking courage of my people."
As I stare at the symbol, I suddenly feel my hand warm up. Looking down, I see the strange wand fro before appearing in my hand; it floats up in front of me. As I stare at it, the symbol in the gold star lights up before morphing into a new sign. This new one resembles two hammerheads facing each other, with four small ax blades surrounding it, two above and two below. When the light fades, I look up to see Code Eve smiling at me.
"As you can see, while you may have command of all my elements, the subterra attribute is the one that resonates with you the most."
She gestures again to the symbol that is then replaced with the yellow-white one.
"The fifth attribute was the one of light, Haos. This one was the direct twin of the last attribute, Darkus. Like their names, these represent the light and the dark and all that is associated with them. However, my children thought that the Darkus element was evil and corrupt. This is not the case. It represents the power that exists in the shadows of the world. The calm and the silence that lies within every being in the universe. Has exits to magnify the hope and light in all beings, to remind them that light id always there to banish evil."
"So they are like the yin and yang symbols on Earth?"
"Exactly, my young child. They can not exist without one another. I then created six beings to guard my sacred attributes and keep them safe until the day my champion would arrive. Apollonir was to guard Pyrus, Orberus to watch over Ventus, Frosh guarded Aquos, Clayf supervised Subterra, Exedra was the guardian of Darkus, and Lars Lion was the guardian of Haos. Eventually, Clayf would hand over his domain to my champion fully."
"So what does this all have to do with me. What role do I play in all this?"
Code Eve gestures behind me and stands from her seat. She walks forward a ways before sweeping her hands outward. Then from the mist comes an image of a vast city, glimmering in the sun. Every building seems to be made of a strange metal in varying gold, white, and blue shades.
"I know this place… Why do I know this place?"
"This is the city of New Vestal, The birthplace of your previous self, Terris Olympia, King of the 3rd age of Draconis, Leader of the first planetary guardians of the Vestal system and the inspiration for the Sailor Senshi of the Sol System."
….
"Glowing angel lady, say WHAT!? What do you mean by previous self! Are you saying I'm the reincarnation of some alien king from like 7,000 years ago!?"
"Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. You are my first champion. The master of all six attributes. You were the greatest king that Vestal ever knew."
I stare at her in shock before my brain picks up on what she said.
"What do you mean by 'knew'? What happened to Vestal."
Her face seems to gain a somber look to it. She gestures to the image again. Then before my eyes, I see something horrifying. There in the picture, the beautiful appearance of Vestal just before the unthinkable happens. In one instant, the whole planet seems to ripple before violently exploding in a rain of rock and fire.
"Oh my god..what…. Vestal, it's…gone. What, what happened!?" I utter in shock."
"A being called Master Pharoh 90 appeared in the Vestal system ten years after you became king. To combat this threat, you came to me and asked if I could bestow a part of my power on 5 of your closest allies. I agreed as I wanted to defeat this enemy. So with my blessing, I created the first Sailor Senshi: Sailor Aquos, Sailor Pyrus, Sailor Ventus, Sailor Haos, and Sailor Darkus. Each of them became champions to their elemental deities, charged with defeating any enemy to Vestal. After a year of battling Master Pharoh 90's forces, the 6 of you eventually came face to face with the monster himself."
As I watched her explain her story, I could see the image in the mist change as she spoke. It showed me pictures of the six warriors who originally protected Vestal, then the 5 Senshi I had helped create. Then, I saw a vast and grotesque black monster right out of the devil's worst nightmare in the window. I saw my past self and the Senshi battling the beast, launching a sort of attack at it hoping to banish it from their dimension.
"Unfortunatelypastthe devil's, Master Pharoh 90 proved to be too strong for you and your champions. You did defeat him and banish him from Vestal, but the planet was severely damaged in doing so. The monster had drained most of the energy from the planet, killing everything that was on the surface beside you and your Senshi, the six ancient warriors, and myself. Seeing that my beautiful planet was doomed, I pleaded with my sister Gaia to take you all and place you somewhere where you would be safe until you were needed again. I then left Vestal and bound my essence in the shape of an orb and buried myself deep within a planet called Nethia, a planet much like earth but with no humans or humanoid species on it."
" So Vestal was lost then, wasn't it. I failed to protect it even after defeating the enemy."
"Yes, you did, but only because I was not able to see the enemy coming."
I clench my fists in anger, furious with my past self for not being able to defend the beautiful planet I once called home.
"So why wake me now? What reason do you have to remind me of my past? Why did you wake Pyrus and Ventus before me? What purpose did it serve?"
"I chose to wake them first because they were the closest one to you. Somehow when the sailor Senshi of Gaia was reborn after the destruction of the silver millennium, you were reborn too. It seems Queen Serenity knew of your existence and made sure that you would be present what her warriors awakened."
"So then, why wake me now?"
"Because Master Pharaoh 90 has returned and is threatening the Earth now."
My eyes widen in shock and horror
"He's back! HOW!"
"I do not know, but the time has come for you to awaken the last of your Senshi and join Gaia warriors in the fight against him."
Steeling myself I stare at Code Eve and nod
"This time, I won't fail my planet or its people. He will pay for what he did to Vestal."
Code Eve smiles before looking at Pluto.
"Take him and the others to the rest of my Senshi warrior of time. I am trusting you with their safety. Please do not fail me."
"Yes, your highness, I will do everything in my power to keep them safe."
"Then go; the others will be waiting for you where you left. Find the Sailor Senshi of the Sol system and bring an end to this monster."
With this Code, Eve begins to glow and shrinks into an orb the size of a beach ball.
"Blessed be my child."
She then seems to fade away into the fog. I turn to Pluto with a newfound determination.
"Let's go find the others and get ready to fight this monster."
Pluto nods and raises her staff to summon the space-time doors.
'Looks like I won't be doing those catboxes tonight.'
