Sonic grunted as he pushed the big door open. It was heavy! But, he had finally made it to the boss chamber. There was a big pool of poison water in front of him. It smelled horrible! "Ew, gross!" Exclaimed Sonic. Suddenly, a big serphant plant type creature rose from the water. Sonic realized this must be the creature that poisoned the water and ruined the forest. It roared at him, but Sonic gave it a determined glare. He used the gale boomerang to stun it and then, he finished it off with the ending blow then put his sword away proudly as the creature died. Sonic grinned at it. As the creature disintegrated, Sonic saw a black object appear in front of him. What was it? "Don't touch that," said Midna. "That's a fused shadow. It's dangerous for creatures in the light world to touch it. Only creatures of the twilight realm can touch it without getting hurt. It's got sharp edges."
"Okay..." said Sonic, his voice trailing off as Midna picked it up with her hair. "There are three fused shadows in all and we just collected the first one," she explained. "The fused shadows are the dark twilight king's only weakness. The light spirits will be able to tell where the other fused shadows are." Midna made a portal appear in front of her. It was a twilight portal. "What's that?" Asked Sonic. "This is a twilight portal," said Midna. "But don't let its name worry you. It's going to take you outside the temple, not to the twilight realm." Sonic looked a little convinced, raised an eyebrow, then stepped in the portal with Midna, who used it to take herself and Sonic outside.
