Sonic was gently lowered down to the ground outside the spirit temple. As he walked past the pond, Faron, the light spirit, appeared once more. "Well done, Sonic. You have saved the forest."
"Thank you, Faron," said Sonic. "No, Sonic," replied Faron. "We should be thanking you. You have braved the plant monster and the forest has been restored."
"What about the fused shadows?" asked Sonic. "Where are they?"
"The fused shadows are your only means of defeating the king that rules the twilight. He is the one responsible for the curtain of twilight. If you leave these woods and go find the spirit Eldin, he will tell you where to find the next fused shadow that you seek." And he disappeared once more. Sonic ran towards Hyrule Field.
The field was so big! And Sonic could see something dark up ahead. I guess the forest wasn't the only place that was covered in twilight, thought Sonic. His thoughts rang true. His quest was not over yet. As Sonic raced towards the dark area, he had a feeling that Eldin was trapped in the curtain of twilight too. It wasn't long before Sonic reached the curtain of twilight. "Midna?" he called. Midna appeared. "Yes, Sonic?" she asked. "Do you have any magic that can protect me in the curtain of twilight?" Midna thought for a second. Then, with a snap of her fingers, she made a little black necklace appear around his neck. "This is a necklace of twilight," she said. "It has the power to channel transformation magic easily. When you touch it, you can switch from hedgehog to cheetah and back again. It should protect you from turning into a cheetah uncontrollably. But if it doesn't work, don't blame me." And with a cackle, she disappeared. "Well, are you coming?" Sonic heard her ask. He sighed. "Coming," he said. And he stepped through the curtain of twilight.
