THE CLEARWATER'S

CHAPTER 45

SAVANNAH P.O.V

26 weeks pregnant

My family had decided to throw me a baby shower since I was having a girl this time around. I had done some shopping for her. I got her a bunch of cute clothes. I was looking forward to dressing her up. Seth had painted her room a light grey and we were doing mostly grey's and pinks for her room.

Seth had left a few hours ago with the boys to help my parents set up for the baby shower and to give me some time to relax and get ready. Thankfully Alice came over to help me because these days I was struggling to do most things on my own.

She was digging around in my closet trying to find something decent for me to wear. I was sitting on the bed and leaning back in just my bra and panties. She had perfected my hair and makeup but I had been sweating nearly the entire time she worked on me.

"I heard Ryder is bringing his girlfriend." Alice commented from the closet.

"I think so." I said. I was happy for him. We had watched Jett for him a few weeks ago so that he could take her out. From what I understood, he really liked her and he was enjoying her company. "I haven't met her yet. I'm surprised he's bringing her over for all of the werewolves and vampires to meet her." She laughed.

"I promise I won't eat her." She commented.

"We need to find Edward a woman." I answered as she came out of the closet with a blue sundress in hand. She grabbed my hand to help me sit up before helping me off the bed. "Get him laid."

"He would never do that before marriage." She answered slipping the dress over my head.

"I don't know why. It's fun." She laughed before fixing my hair.

"I mean clearly." She rubbed her hands over my belly. I closed my eyes at her cold hands cooling down my skin. She moved one hand to the back of my neck.

"That feels so good." I nearly moaned. "Should have married Edward." I whispered.

"He knew you had a crush on him." She giggled when I blushed. "How about shoes?" She asked.

"No." I answered heading out of the room. I knew she hated that I had been going everywhere barefoot but it was hard to shove my swollen feet into a shoe. I walked out the front door with her behind me and got into her car. Well actually it was Edward's car because I couldn't get into her Porsche.

I kept my eyes closed as she drove the short ride to my parents. I wasn't really in the mood to throw up today.

"How do you think the boys are going to react to having a little sister?" I asked her.

"I think they'll love her." I smiled. Lately I had been worried that the boys wouldn't like having a little sister. Seth tried his best to make me feel better about it but I had mom guilt that I wasn't giving them a little brother. She pulled into the driveway and my door opened. A cold white hand reached into the car to help me out.

"Hi." I smiled at Edward as he pulled me from the car.

"Hi, darling." He smiled helping me inside.

"Mommy!" Koda yelled running over to him. He crashed into my legs. I ran my hand through his hair.

"Hi, baby. Were you good for daddy?" I asked. Seth came over holding Kuba to kiss me.

"He was a big help." He smiled. My mom came over to greet me.

"Hey." I smiled hugging her. "Thank you."

"You're very welcome." She smiled. "Food is ready when you are. Everyone else is out back. Ryder brought Quinn. She's lovely." Mom smiled.

"What is she like?"

"So sweet. She is so good with Jett and the kids." She gushed. It was rare for Ryder to find a good girl. He used to sleep around. I followed her out to see everyone. Edward helped me down the stairs before Rose came over.

"Where are your shoes?" She questioned.

"None of them fit." I answered moving to find a seat. I greeted everyone and thanked them for coming. I was out of breath by the time I was able to sit down with a plate of food.

"Sav, this is Quinn. Quinn, this is my sister, Savannah." Ryder said standing with his arm around her.

"Hi!" I smiled standing to hug her. "It's so lovely to meet you." I smiled.

"Same to you. And congratulations." She smiled.

"Thank you." I smiled before we all sat down together. Seth joined us with the boys. Kuba ate everything on his plate whereas I had to force Koda to eat. He wanted to get down and play. I eventually gave up and let them both go play.

"How are you feeling?" Seth asked as he rubbed my stomach. His warm hands did not help in the sweating department. I suddenly felt a cold hand against my neck.

"I'm fine." I answered. Edward said nothing but kept his hand on me. Carlisle came over and took my blood pressure and my temperature. He tried to do it in a way that Quinn wouldn't question anything. I wasn't sure if Ryder had told her that were shapeshifters. Mom placed a glass of ice water in front of me that I quickly drank down. "Is everything okay?" I asked Carlisle.

"Yes. Blood pressure is normal. Can you come by the office next week for blood work?" He asked.

"Sure." I answered.

"For now try to rest as much as possible." I was starting to think that he was a lot more worried than he was letting us know. Edward's hand started to warm up from my skin so he moved his other hand to the same spot.

"I have two toddler's." I commented looking at him.

"I know." I looked over at Seth who had taken up the parenting roll for both of us. He was the one who got up early with them because I was just so exhausted. He did bath time. He did bed time. He had been such a help and he really deserved the best. I felt bad that I couldn't help as often. This pregnancy had really been taking a toll on my body.

"I'm sorry." I looked at him.

"It's fine, baby." He pulled me into him. I hated that he had to do everything himself. "You're growing my child inside you. The least I can do is take care of our other kids." I smiled into his neck.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you more." He kissed the side of my face. Esme came over and kissed my head.

"I can take the boys this week while you go to your appointment."

"That would be awesome!" I smiled at her. I loved how much the Cullen's helped us. They loved to take care of the boys. They very much treated them like their own kids. I loved the relationship that Esme had with them. Peyton came over to me. She looked annoyed. The twins had turned 14 this year and they were in the phase that they knew everything. I remember that stage. I knew nothing.

"Dad is so annoying." She huffed sitting beside me.

"Why?" I asked playing with her hair. I also remember being annoyed with dad at 14. He was always telling me to change or that my makeup wasn't appropriate. I of course never realized it was because Seth had imprinted.

"First he made me change! Twice!" She huffed. "Then Rosalie did my makeup and he made her take it off."

"He's just protective."

"From what?" I heard Edward chuckle from behind me.

"Boys." I answered. I remember being 14 when I first realized that Seth was attractive. I was so young and wanted nothing more than for him to like me back. I remember sneaking over to his bedroom to watch movies or talk and getting caught. I was grounded all the time. "He doesn't want you to rush growing up." Of course, we were all watching Ashton grow more and more every week. I knew that it was starting to worry mom and dad. Dad had a hard enough time when Ryder phased, I couldn't imagine what would happen when he had two kids as a wolf. It seemed the boys in the family got the full wolf gene. Of course there was still the chance that none of them would phase. Ashton could just be growing faster than Peyton.

"He doesn't need to worry about it. The person I like doesn't even like me back." She sighed resting her head in her hand.

"What?" I asked.

"Can we not talk about this here?" She asked.

"Sure." I smiled a little. Ashton made his way over to us. His voice was changing. It was so crazy watching my siblings go through puberty. I don't remember Ryder going through it but we were going through it at the same time so I'm sure I was too worried about myself.

"But dad needs to get a grip." I laughed. I knew how dad could be. The amount of rules he had made me move out by the time I was 18. I could see dad shaking his head and looking at us.

"He does. I think the old age is getting to his head." Ashton answered sitting down next to Ryder. "He never lets us go out."

"Like I said, he's just protecting you."

"I can handle myself." He answered lifting his arms and showing us his muscles.

"Soon we'll be able to fight." Emmett came over flexing his own muscles. Of course Quinn looked very alarmed.

"Let's arm wrestle." Ashton said.

"No!" Both mom and Esme shouted. The last time Emmett arm wrestled with one of the wolves, it was Jared and he broke his arm in two different spots. Kim was pissed. I could tell that Ryder was getting stressed with having Quinn in the middle of all of this. She seemed rather amused.

"Ladies, relax."

"Excuse you." Esme said while mom rolled her eyes. I loved the banter. I loved being surrounded by everyone. Becoming a mom had felt very lonely. I knew I wasn't alone. I had my husband and my family but it seemed like I would never get sleep again. It seemed like some days the baby would never stop crying. Now that they were older and ate regular food and were able to do most things themselves, it was easier. Of course now we were starting all over again.

"Wanna do presents?" Mom asked.

"Sure." She set up two chairs over near where the presents were. Jasper and Emmett watched the kids while I opened the presents. Alice wrote down what was given to us and from who. Of course he probably knew what they were before I opened it.

We got tons of clothes. Esme and Carlisle got us a crib that could be converted into a bed as she grew. Edward got her diamond rings.

"Edward!" I hissed. There was no need for here to have those.

"All girls deserve diamonds." He said.

"You haven't bought me any diamonds." Peyton said. I gasped as I looked at Peyton. She had a crush on Edward! I nearly shouted in my head before looking over at him. He didn't dare look at me but looked over at Peyton.

"I'm terribly sorry." He said to her. I looked at Seth with wide eyes. What was it with Edward Cullen and making woman fall for him.

I opened the gift from Ryder and Quinn. They gave us all shirts that said thing one all the way to thing 5.

"Thank you." I laughed resting Seth's shirt over his shoulder. "I love it." Seeing all of the little dressed and the cute little pants, I was getting more and more excited to meet our little girl.

*JACOB P.O.V*

The hardest thing in the world was watching your children grow. We were about to have four grandkids. Two of our kids were teenager's who very much wanted more freedom. Finn, who was just barely 7 was just going with the flow of everything else.

"You can't be so hard on her, Jake." Bella commented as we were getting into bed. "I know you want to protect her but you also need to respect her growing body." She added. "I know that she should be respectful and not have her boobs, belly and butt out. I will talk to her about that but you also have to understand that they purposely make girls clothes like that now."

"She's 14." I ran my hands over my face. We had gone through this with Savannah. And of course she used to whine to the Cullen's who would buy her whatever she wanted.

"I know." She said climbing into bed beside me. Her nipples were poking through her tank top.

"I'm just thankful that Savannah doesn't live with us and Peyton doesn't steal her clothes." Thankfully I only had to deal with one teenage daughter at a time. But Peyton wasn't my only worry. Ashton was growing super fast. He was eating a lot more. His temperature was rising. It was something that I had tried to prepare him for. I knew that it wasn't going to be easy to retrain my brain to not think of certain things. Ryder was used to it by now but Ashton was much younger and it was going to take him a while to learn control.

"You know she told me she has a crush on Edward."

"Oh jesus." I groaned. The last thing I needed was Cullen being around my daughter. I knew he would most likely never try to hurt her but I also knew he most likely didn't like her the same way. After all she was my kid.

"So how are we going to deal with that?" She rested her chin on my chest and looked up at me.

"No idea." I wrapped my arm around her. I was not looking forward to next few years with these teenagers.
