Written in Your Heart

*The next morning, Muttski crawled out of the window leading the Sonic's dungeon cell. He looked at Sonic, who was asleep on a cot. Just then, Connery ran up to him, still pulling the cart*

Sir Connery: Are you Muttski? Maria's friend?

Muttski: I like to think so.

Sir Connery: She needs help. And so does the Prince.

Muttski: What? *he took a quick look at his sleeping master & then back at Connery* Show me, quick!

*They ran for the Mine*

*Back in the Mine, Shadow & Professor Who were trying to use pick axes to dig their way out of. Just then, a round black rock almost hit Maria. Shadow stopped to check on her*

Shadow: Sorry, Maria.

*He then picked up the rock & opened it to reveal the purple crystals inside. He then looked at Abigail, who was sitting on a nearby rock. A few seconds later, Professor Who stopped working*

Harvey Who: It's hopeless. I'm sorry, Your Highness.

*Shadow didn't seem to hear him as he walked over to Abigail.

Shadow: Abby, do you know why I didn't want to marry the Queen?

Abigail: You weren't ready to get married.

*Shadow sat down next to her*

Shadow: No. I was in love with somebody else. *he looked at Abigail* My best friend. The girl who's always been there for me, ever since we were children.

*Abigail blushed, but looked away*

Abigail: But I'm not a Queen. I can't give you what she can.

*Shadow put a hand to her face & turned her face towards his*

Shadow: I think your like this.

*He showed her the black rock*

Abigail: A rock?

Shadow:*chuckle* Unassuming on the outside, *he opened the rock to reveal the purple crystals* but a treasure within.

*Abigail looked back up at him & smiled. They then leaned forward & kissed. Harvey smiled at the two of them*

*Outside the Mine, Muttski & Connery arrived at the collapsed entrance*

Muttski: Oh, don't tell she's in there.

Sir Connery: All right. I will not tell you.

*Muttski then jumped off of Connery's back & started sniffing the ground*

Muttski: I'm getting . . . Oh yeah, I'm getting . . .

Sir Connery: Uh . . . Dizzy?

Muttski: No. A scent. There's another way in.

*Meanwhile, back at the castle, the servants were rushing to get everything ready for the wedding. Up in her chambers, Queen Aleena was standing in front of a mirror, while a maid helped her with her dress (look up "Peach - Wedding Dress" by "KatLime" on "DeviantArt"). Starline then walked up to her, wearing a white suit*

Dr. Starline: Look at you. *he then started admiring himself in the mirror* Looking at me. Lovely.

*Aleena sadly sighed*

*Back in the Mine, Shadow & Professor Who were still trying to get out with their pick axes. Suddenly, water started coming out of a hole Shadow had made*

*Outside the Mine, Muttski was still sniffing the ground until he found what he was looking for*

Muttski: Hey, hey, hey, hey, down here. *he then started digging at the ground until a giant deep hole opened up* What do you make of that?

Sir Connery: Oh, are an excellent digger.

Muttski: Thank you. But I meant look. I bet I I can get to Maria and the Prince this way.

*In the dungeon, Sonic was secretly making a hook out of straw & a piece of wire, while humming a lullaby. The guard (a male reddish-brown coyote with blonde hair & blue eyes) outside his cell slowly fell asleep*

*Back at the Mine, Muttski & Connery looked down the hole Muttski had made*

Sir Connery: You are going down there!?

*The hole seemed to go on forever*

Muttski: A cat always lands on his feet, even one that barks.

*He then jumped down the hole & landed in the room Maria & the others were trapped in. Shadow, Abigail, & Professor Who all turned when they heard the crash*

Shadow: Sonic's cat?

*All three of them looked up the hole Muttski had fallen down through*

Harvey Who: An old Mine shaft.

Abigail: Hello! Anybody up there!?

*Shadow turned back to the water coming out of the wall of rocks*

Shadow: Water. Here help me. *he went back with his pick axe making more water come out. Abigail & Professor Who created more openings until a mini waterfall came out* Beautiful!

*Muttski & Maria looked at each other, nervously*

*Back in the dungeon, Sonic was still humming his lullaby as he used his makeshift hook to take the keys from the coyote's belt. Once he got the keys, be unlocked his cell door & made a run for it. As soon as he was gone, the coyote guard woke up & ran after him*

Back in the Mine, Shadow, Abigail, Professor Who, Mario, & Muttski were all riding in a barrel as they were lifted up to the top by the water*

*Back in the dungeon, Sonic had just lost the coyote guard when suddenly, he was grabbed by a female guard*

Sonic: No! Let me go!

*Just then, the coyote guard caught up with them*

Antoine: Thought you could escape, eh? I'll lock him up.

Female Guard: I'm to take him to the castle.

Antoine: But -

Female Guard: Queen's orders.

Antoine: Oh. Well. Right then.

*The female guard dragged Sonic out of the dungeon*

*Back at the castle, the ceremony had begun. Starline walked down the aisle with Ivo & Fiona right behind him. Fiona was wearing a black dress, black gloves (look up "Rosalina - Princess Pluto" by "KatLime" on "DeviantArt") & holding her feather fan. Rough & Tumble were at the alter, wearing new suits*

Rough: Look good, Sir Tumble.

Tumble: Feeling good, Sir Rough.

*Aleena then came down the aisle, holding a bouquet of yellow roses & looking sad*

Dr. Starline: Smile, my dear. You're about to become my Queen.

Queen Aleena: Only to save my people. Your fortune will help them all.

*Starline & Fiona smirked at each other*

*Meanwhile, the Female Guard pulled Sonic out of the dungeon*

Female Guard: This way *in an attempt to get away, Sonic stepped on her foot* Hey!

*The guard then lifted the visor on her helmet, revealing Queen Sally*

Sally: I guess I deserved that.

Sonic: Sally! I need to explain -

*Sally completely took off her helmet*

Sally: I don't believe you're the person Starline says you are.

*Sonic looked surprised for a few seconds*

Sonic: You do love disguises, don't you?

Sally: Come. We need to hurry.

*They ran away*

*Back at the castle, the ceremony was almost finished*

Rotor: Do you, Starline, take this woman to be your bride?

Dr. Starline: Yes. How could I refuse?

Rotor: And do you, my Queen, take this man to be your husband?

Queen Aleena: I . . . *Starline & Fiona glared at her* I . . . I - I . . . I d -

Shadow: Wait! Wait! *everything turned towards him & looked surprised* Stop the wedding, Mother!

Queen Aleena: Shadow!?

Dr. Starline: But he's dead, Your Highness!

Fiona: The imposter must've escaped!

Shadow: No, Fiona!

*He pulled down his right sleeve, revealing his Royal Birthmark. Starline & Fiona were speechless*

Queen Aleena: It is you! *she dropped her bouquet, ran up to her son, & hugged him* Oh, my darling!

Crowd: It's the Prince! He's back!

*Abigail & Professor Who were right behind Shadow. Sonic & Sally then ran on to the scene*

Sonic: It's the Prince! He's alive!

Queen Aleena: But where were you? I - I thought . . .

Shadow:*pointing at Starline & Fiona* What they wanted you to think!

*Starline & Fiona both gasped in surprise & tried to make a run for it*

Queen Aleena: Guards! Take them!

*Starline Fiona both jumped on Connery's back & tried to run away*

Sally: They can't get away.

Sonic: They won't get away*

*He & Shadow both jumped on pashas & rode after them. Rough & Tumble both tried to run away. But Tumble was tripped by Abigail*

Abigail: Nice to see you again.

*And Rough was tripped by Sally*

Sally: Going somewhere?

*Ivo tried to sneak away, but was blocked by Maria & Muttski*

Muttski: Not so fast, puffy!

Maria: Now who has nowhere to go?

Ivo: Yeah. No where to go. But through you! *he charged at them, but they dodged & he hit a table leg, knocking his gold tooth out* My tooth! Oh, my beautiful tooth!

*On the road leading from the castle to the village, Starline & Fiona were trying to escape*

Dr. Starline: Faster you old nag!

*Sonic & Shadow were right behind them*

Fiona: I've seen snails move faster! *she hit him with her fan* Move it! *suddenly, Connery grabbed the fan with his teeth* Huh? What are you doing!?

*Just then, he turned around & ran back to the castle*

Dr. Starline: Turn around!

*Connery went past Sonic & Shadow*

Fiona: Stop you stupid beast! I said stop!

*As soon as he reached the buffet table, he bucked, sending them both flying. Fiona landed in a fountain & Starline landed in the cake*

Maria: I like your style, Connery.

Sir Connery: So do I.

*As some of the guards led Rough & Tumble away, the rest went to collect Starline & Fiona. Sonic & Shadow smiled at each other*

*Later that day, Aleena & Shadow were in the Royal Garden together*

Queen Aleena: Starline & Fiona played me for a fool. I'm sorry, my darling Shadow. When I think what might have happened.

*She hugged him, but he soon let go*

Shadow: But it didn't. Thanks to Sonic and the woman I love. Abigail.

Queen Aleena: Abigail?

Shadow: She's kind, intelligent, and my best friend. Mother, it's Abigail I want to marry.

Queen Aleena: I want you to be happy. But it is our duty to take care of our people first.

Shadow: I can do that. I found something very interesting in the Mine.

*The next day, Sonic & Queen Sally were at the entrance to the village. Sonic was sitting on a pasha*

Sally: I can't convince you to stay.

Sonic: Sally, I . . . All my life I've dreamed of being free. Now my debt's been paid, thanks to Shadow.

Sally: Where will you go?

Sonic: Everywhere. I want to play my music. See the world.

Sally: Then . . . I hope you'll take this with you.

*She help up the box with the gold ring*

Sonic: I couldn't.

*Queen Sally slipped it on his finger*

Sally: It was meant for you

Sonic: No promises.

Sally: I'll take my chances.

*Sonic then rode away, waving goodbye to her. She waved back*

*Sometime later, Shadow was at the reopened Royal Mine. Carts of purple crystals came out*

Narrator: Prince Shadow was right about the Mine. He had discovered it was filling with geodes. Under his direction, the beautiful crystals created a new industry.

*The rabbit family came back & reopened their shop*

Narrator: The Kingdom was saved.

*At the Dress Emporium, Breezie stood in front of the boarded up building with two suitcases on either side of her. Amy & Tails smiled smugly. Breezie just picked her bags & stomped away without a word*

Narrator: As for Madame Breezie, without the work from the castle, she went out of business.

*On a grand stage, Sonic was bowing to an audience. Then he looked at the ring on his finger & smiled*

Narrator: After months of traveling, Sonic realized there was one place he wanted to play music more than anywhere else. Sometimes being free means choosing not to go, but to stay.

*In the Kingdom of Acorn, Sally was standing in front her castle, tending to her pasha, when suddenly, she saw Sonic standing in front of her*

*Sonic singing*

*off-screen*

*They ran to each other & hugged*

*A few months later, Sonic & Shadow were getting ready for their double wedding. Shadow was wearing his formal suit & Sonic was wearing a (look up "Prince Sonic - Cosium Outfits - Formal Suit" by "LiyuConberma" on "DeviantArt")*

*Then the ceremony began. Sally was wearing a white long sleeved wedding dress, a silver tiara, a long veil (look up "Peach - Cinderella (Wedding Dress II)" by "KatLime" on "DeviantArt") & holding a bouquet of blue roses. Abigail was wearing a white long sleeved wedding dress, a crown of pink flowers in her hair (look up "Peach - Rapunzel (Wedding)" by "KatLime" on "DeviantArt") & holding a bouquet of red roses. Walking in front of them were a cream & brown female rabbit & a gray female manta ray, both wearing white dresses. The cream & brown female rabbit was holding a bouquet of red roses & the gray female manta ray was holding a bouquet of blue roses*

Narrator: And of course, Muttski and Maria lived happily ever after. Along with their many, many, many kittens.

*After the ceremony, both couples were in a custom made carriage, built for four, being pulled by Sir Connery & another pasha. They waved goodbye to the crowd as they left*
