In this time, where a second shutdown in germany hit us, I sat down an played Octopath traveler wich I never played really trough. And what happend with me then, you can read here because I had an Idea for a FF.have fun.

5 years have passed since the fight against Galdera. Since then there has been peace in Orsterra. A village was founded between Cobblestone and Rippeltide, where residents from both places moved because the number of residents was slowly reaching the critical mark. The village is called Pebble Village, and was surrounded by a stone wall like Rippeltide and built like Cobbleston on a mountain. Clara was born in Cobblestone. Her father worked in the nearby quarry. This is how the family made their living. Clara had a lovely childhood, she liked to run into the forest, and sometimes into the mountains, even if children were not allowed to, as fatal accidents often occurred there. But at the time our story takes place, Clara was 25 years old. She worked for the plumber as a saleswoman in Pebble village. Her father had been after her for a long time now, to finally find a husband and start a family. But Clara had the feeling that there was no suitable man here in Pebble village. They were all just farmers or quarry workers. Not ideal husbands for her. She was a bookworm and loved romantic stories with knights and princesses. And of course she also dreamed of meeting a knight who was brave and could protect her.

One day, while Clara was doing her work, the alarm bell in the village suddenly rang. Clara knew what this meant. Ten years ago, when they were still living in Rippeltide, this alarm went off almost every day because monsters were lurking in front of the city. Sometimes they attacked passers-by, then the bell rang to warn residents. The warriors of the village then took up positions to drive away the mostly individual groups of monsters. But that day everything was different. An army of monsters rushed towards Pebble village. Different monsters divided into groups, many with swords, some with spears and some with bows and arrows. The monsters seemed to be much more organized than usual and ruthlessly attacked the village. Anyone who got in their way was massacred. Clara suddenly heard the screams and roars of the monsters while she was serving a customer. Suddenly her father entered the shop: "Clara! We are under attack!"

"What ?! But that hasn't happened in years!" Said the customer, startled.

"You have to get out of here!" Shouted her father and grabbed Clara by the hand. He pulled her out the back door. He could somehow guide her past the fighting.

"Quick, run!" Her father yelled as he pushed Clara towards the street, then turned around and rushed towards the attacking monsters with his pickaxe.

Clara knew what to do. she had to get help and decided to take the street after paving. She hurried off and quickly noticed a couple of rat-like monsters with bows and arrows following her.

Olberic stood on the hill that rises on the edge of the pavement and breathes the fresh morning air. The fight against Galdera was already 5 years ago. It seemed like an eternity to him. It had been an uphill battle, but it was worth it, because Orsterra had been at peace ever since. Olberic no longer teaches the young men of the village regularly. This task is now taken over by Phillip, his youngest protégé at the time. Sometimes Olberic still watches the training sessions and gives Phillip well-intentioned advice when necessary. Olberic still runs daily patrols to protect the village. It so happened that that day from his vantage point he saw a single person, pursued by several monsters, some of them archers, who kept shooting at her. Olberic hurried down the hill and shouted, "We're under attack!"

Olberic charged ahead, his sword in hand, to chase the monsters away. Some villagers ready to fight followed at a distance.

As he stepped out onto the street, he saw a young woman being driven towards to the town by the monsters. When he was almost across from her, as an arrow from the monsters hit her shoulder. Surprised by the sudden severe pain, she fell to the ground, panting. She whirled up the dust and did not see the small group of men who stormed past her to defeat the monsters. That wasn't a big challenge for the group of 10, led by Olberic. They were quickly struck down by the fight experienced men.

Clara coughed and tried to straighten up, but the pain in her shoulder seemed to numb her. Suddenly she saw the prominent face of a man who lifted her into his arms and carried her away ...

Clara had passed out in the arms of her savior without being able to properly recognize him.

Olberic carried the unconscious woman into his house. The woman was a bit fuller and therefore heavier than many other women he had already carried in his arms. When he laid her on the side of his bed (the arrow stuck still back in her shoulder), she groaned and woke up.

"Where am I?" She asked.

"Safe," said the warrior's dark, warm voice.

Olberic hurried to and fro, collecting a few things to treat the young woman. He had been out with the pharmacist Alfyn long enough and had copied a few things that he thought was useful.

Then he turned to the woman. She was sitting on his bed, her face contorted with pain. He put a vial and bandage on the bedside table.

He sat down next to her and asked her to lean forward as much as possible. Clara did what the stranger wanted her to do. Even if he was a stranger, she had the feeling that he could help her. Maybe he was a pharmacist. Olberic handed her a clean rag and said: "Put it in your mouth."

Clara didn't understand why she should do this, but she did. Olberic supported her with his left arm under her chest. With his right hand he took the arrow that was still in her shoulder. Clara winced. Just the touch alone caused her pain.

"I know ... but he has removed.", Olberic said gently. He counted quiet to 3 and then pulled the arrow out as fast as he could. Clara closed her eyes and screamed into the cloth in her mouth. She clutched the warrior's tunic, hunched over his lap. It took a moment before the pain subsided and she sagged limp on the warrior's lap.

Olberic caught the woman who slumped over his lap. It was more of a reflex action on his part, because she couldn't have hurt herself any further. He lifted her slightly and then laid her on her stomach on his bed in order to treat her now. Thank god it hadn't been a bullet, he probably couldn't have treated it without the help of a pharmacist. The tip of the arrow had just pierced her shoulder. He applied a healing ointment that he had touched according to Alfyn's recipe for an emergency and then bandaged the wound. The woman remained unconscious throughout the treatment. She didn't wake up until half an hour later. Olberic was sitting in his chair in front of his fireplace when he heard her moan. Olberic straightened up and turned his head to her: "How do you feel? Are you in pain?"

"It's okay ...", she said, "Thank you."
