Authors Notes- And here I am rewriting chapter 9 because my old laptop decided to be a butt and restarted while I was half way through. ANYWAY as you can gather I own nothing everything belongs to Hiro Mashima now that we got that out of the way here is chapter 9.
This was fun. Cecilia thought as smoke billowed from various ruined buildings throughout Magnolia, including the shabby little magic shop she had 'visited' the night before. Her smile turning cruel as she turned her gaze to the bloodied blade she had used on the elderly couple that ran the place. Oh how they had screamed and begged. Just like Erza would when she got her hands on her. But before she did, she was going to allow herself to have a bit more fun with this sleepy little town, after all, no one told her she wasn't allowed to have fun.
Biting down on her bottom lip hard enough to draw blood as she looked down at the city from her perch on the Cathedral. The big question was, what should she do now? Narrowed eyes scanned the area below her before lighting up when she found her next target, a public park teeming with children and families. Disgustingly happy little families going on with their lives unaware soon that it would all end. Soon... Cecilia's heart skipped a beat as she thought about her guilds goals finally being completed. Soon... they would rule the world...
To say she was sore would be an understatement, as Lucy hissed through her teeth as Wendy spread a healing ointment on her burns. The blue haired dragon slayer muttered a few apologies as she wrapped up her burns while Erza looked on. Arms crossed over her chest as she looked down at the blonde woman. A frown on her face as she mulled over what Lucy had told her had transpired the night before.
Gnawing on her bottom lip, brow furrowing as she looked to Lucy, something was wrong.
"Did you see anyone, or anything suspicious around the shop?" Erza asked, hoping to jog her memory, just in case Lucy actually had seen something and had forgotten to tell them.
Sadly that was not the case as Lucy shook her head. "Like I said I saw nothing, but the witness did. Said he saw the exact same women we encountered on our job."
"Do you think she followed us here?" Erza asked.
Lucy shook her head, muttering a thank you to Wendy as the girl moved away as Lucy got to her feet. A sigh escaping her lips as the pain seemed to ebb away from her wounds. Lucy had no doubt that she would have a few scars from her fiery ordeal, but in comparison to what those poor people had endured it was nothing. Moving past Erza she stepped outside and took a deep breath as warm morning air washed over her. As Erza followed her out, the red haired woman taking a moment to admire the woman standing in front of her. Taking note of how beautiful Lucy looked. The soft breeze running through her hair, to the way the sun shone on her. And for the briefest of moment Erza couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to run her fingers through those soft, golden tresses. And-
"So, now what?" Lucy asked, jerking Erza from her little daydream, turning fully to her.
Erza worried at her bottom lip once more, as she mulled over what they should when- BOOM! Their heads jerked as a loud explosion rocked the area.
"No," Lucy murmured, "not again." Thoughts of last night racing through her mind as she and Erza raced through the streets, from somewhere ahead smoke billowed from further in Magnolia.
Screams echoing from everywhere as people raced past the two of them in an attempt to get away from whatever was happening. However that was the not the worst of their problems as to the south of the city there was another explosion, and both Lucy and Erza skidded to a stop as there was another sound coming from behind them. What was going on? However before could come up with an idea there was a loud, bellowing coming from behind them. Slowly turning around came face to face with a large black monstrosity glaring down at them. Drool trickling from scaly jaws filled with rows upon rows of serrated teeth. Blood red eyes burning brightly against black scales on a triangular shaped head. On top of its head sat a pair of pointy ears that swiveled to and fro, picking up the noises all around it.
To Lucy the beast almost looked like a wolf, if wolves had scales that is, but that was where the resemblance ended, as the rest of its body looked like it was made from the parts of different animals. It stood of six legs, with three toes each and every one of them tipped with lethal looking curved claws. And on its back were a pair of tattered bat-like wings folded across its massive back.
"Wh-what exactly am I looking at? What is that?" Lucy asked when she finally found her voice. Looking to Erza, in hopes that she would somehow have an answer.
But even she was unable to answer as she unsheathed her sword. Lucy reaching for her whip. "I have no clue." She said, never tearing her eyes away from it. "I only know that if we do not put a stop to it, it's going to destroy this entire town." Steeling her nerves Erza lunged at the monster, sword slicing cleanly across its snout.
Black blood spraying from the wound, some of it splattering onto her shoulder armor, crying out as it ate away at it and burning her skin underneath. Leaping backwards as the beast snapped at her. "Careful," she shouted to Lucy as the blonde caught one of the creatures legs with her whip. Trying in vain to stop the creatures rampage as it moved to tear through one of the buildings around it. "It's blood is acidic. It'll eat right through your skin if you let it."
Shedding the ruined piece of armor she glanced briefly at her shoulder, taking note that the skin was an angry red color and blisters had begun to form as well. But it didn't seem too bad as the pain was beginning to ebb away, shaking her head Erza leaped for the creature once more, her blade slicing into its side, as Lucy summoned Sagittarius. The spirits arrows piercing the creatures tough hide, one of them finding home in the beasts eye, causing more of its toxic blood to spray upon the cobblestones. Steam rising from it as the beast reared its head back, letting out another earsplitting roar.
Back peddling the monster glared at the duo with its remaining eye, lips curled back as it snarled at them before moving to lung at them again. When something slammed into it from above, causing it to drop to the ground.
"You two looked like you could use some help." A gruff voice sounded from above. The two of them looking up to see Gajeel perched on the rooftop above them.
Lucy released the breath she hadn't realized she had been holding as she waved to him, relived to receive more help. As the monster struggled to its feet once more, letting out another roar as it turned its attention to Lucy, pulling back its clawed hand and swiping at her. Biting back a curse as she leaped out of the way, the creatures attack leaving deep gouges in the ground where she once stood. Gripping her whip once more she swung at it, catching the creature around the neck, gritting her teeth she found herself on the creatures back. Sitting between the things tattered wings. Gnawing at her bottom lip she looked for away to stop this creature once and for all.
When Gajeel took his Iron Dragon Sword to two of its right legs. Severing them completely. Lucy cried out as she lost her footing, slipping off the back of the creature and tumbling down towards the ground. Squeezing her eyes shut she prepared to feel herself hit the ground, however Erza had other plans as she caught her before she hit the ground. Muttering a thanks Lucy got to her feet, and glared at the monster once more as it lay there howling and thrashing, more black blood splashing onto the ground and pooling around it. Lucy watched as Erza calmly walked towards the monster, driving her sword through the beasts head, silencing it forever. The beast stilled, eyes dimming as its life ebbed away.
"That," Lucy panted, placing her hands on her knees, eyes glued to the creature before her. "was intense." Turning to Gajeel she forced a tired smile to her lips. "Thanks for your help, don't know what we would have done if you didn't come to help us."
Nodding Gajeel ran a hand through his hair, his face turning grim as he looked all around him. Taking the all the chaos around them. When there was suddenly another loud explosion from somewhere from further in town.
Their relief was soon replaced with more dread as Lucy looked to Erza, as the red haired woman who was gingerly touching the angry looking skin on her shoulder. A dark look in her eyes. "Are you okay?" Lucy asked as Erza hissed through her teeth before pulling her hand away.
"I'm okay," Erza said, offering her a faint smile. "Besides," she added, her gaze turning steely as the smile soon disappeared. "There are more trying matters at hand than me." She said, as there was a low rumble from further in Magnolia. A sign that they were far from out of the woods. There was still trouble ahead.
Blood trickled down Cecilia's chin as she bit down on her bottom lip. Looking around at the chaos she had caused in Magnolia, smoke billowing from various buildings she had destroyed. While a few chimeras she had borrowed from one of the beast masters at their guild roamed around causing destruction wherever they could. Cecilia stopped, worrying at her bottom lip as the witness the defeat and death of one of the magnificent beasts at the hands of those Fairy Tail bitches.
Speaking of bitch... Cecilia eyes settled on Erza as the woman in question raced down one of the side roads, red hair billowing behind her. Her dark brown eyes narrowed as she was spurred on the by screams of helpless victims trapped in one of the burning buildings. And as fun as all this was she knew it was time to wrap things up. After all the Mistress would be very displeased if she were to fail securing the final sacrifice. So much so the Mistress would no doubt use her as the final sacrifice. Swallowing thickly Cecilia pushed those thoughts from her head.
Leaping down from the roof where she was perched, crouching down her hair fell into her face, which she quickly pushed out of her face. Her eyes glued on the road she had seen Erza take, biting down on her bloody lip once more she moved to follow Erza. Her fingers tingling with her magic, magic crackling at the tips as a thrill ran down her spine when she caught sight of Erza disappearing into a burning building. Cecilia smirked, it seemed that she and Lucy both had that tendency to rush head first into danger. Something, she mused as she stood outside the building, that would be there downfall any other time.
Watching from the door as Erza moved quickly yet cautiously, peering into room after room, looking for Cecilia's victims. Cecilia knew she needed to move, to grab the wizard and disappear into the night as she had done so many times before, but Cecilia mused, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, as she leaned against the wall. Maybe she should at least let Erza save these poor souls before she made the grab. So, here she was watching as Erza managed to drag a couple out of the rubble, wiping the sweat from her forehead when the people were safe, just in time too, Cecilia mused the as the building they had emerged from came crumbling down. Kicking up dust as it did so.
And in that moment, while Erza's back was to her did she step out of the shadows from where she hid, eyes fixed on her back, maniacal grin etched on her face as she lunged at the other woman, her fist connecting with the back of Erza's head. Causing Erza to cry out as she stumbled, looking over her shoulder Erza's eyes widened in recognition when they saw her standing there.
"You!" Erza gasped, unsheathing her sword and lunging her Cecilia before the other woman could so much as utter a word.
Cecilia laughed, obviously the Celestial Wizard had informed her of last nights events. No big deal for her, really this would be more fun anyways.
"What are you doing here?" Erza demanded, and for the briefest of moments Cecilia's smile almost disappeared at that commanding tone of hers. She hated the way the woman before her talked, so full of confidence. God she hated that.
Laughing she leaped out of the way of Erza's blade, the tip slicing into her side, blood welling in the shallow wound in her leg, as she turned to face Erza.
"Are you the one doing this?" Erza asked, advancing on her again. "Answer me!"
"Of course I am who else would." Cecilia asked with a nonchalant shrug of her shoulders. Charging at Erza, she caught her in her injured shoulder. "Why? Are you and your blonde bimbo of a girlfriend not having fun?" she taunted.
Erza blinked as she looked to the woman before her, blood staining the leg of Cecilia's pants. Was this girl completely out of her mind? Erza wondered as she transformed into her Purgatory armor, taking to the air Erza let out an enraged scream as she slashed at Cecilia.
As Cecilia leaped out of the way as Erza's blade sliced into the ground where she once stood. Driving her knee into Erza's midsection, knocking the wind out of her lungs. Cecilia laughed as she raised both fists above her head, magic crackling around her hands as she slammed both fists into Erza's back. A pain-filled scream reached her ears as her magic ate away at Erza's armor, sending Erza plummeting to the ground below. Well, Cecilia thought as she dropped to the ground a few feet away from where Erza lay prone. That was fun. Smile disappearing as the dust began to settle, but now it was time for her to start taking things serious, it was time for her to take her prize and disappear before anyone else came snooping.
Humming to herself she slung Erza over her shoulder magic energy engulfing the two of them as she warped out, disappearing into thin air. Leaving behind no trace that she had ever been there at all. And in due time, Erza Scarlet, of Fairy Tail fame would be but a memory...
Authors Notes- Not going to lie this was a bitch and a half to write. Doesn't help that I had to rewrite some of it because my computer decided to restart before I got a chance to save was a swell idea. And we all know what that does to peoples motivation... Rambling aside I hope you enjoyed it despite it being a little too action packed for my taste. That being said this is Black Jack signing off.
