Authors Notes- And here I am with Chapter 10 And this is just a heads up but after this chapter the will be two chapters left. I know this story is slowly coming to an end (I just need to type the other two chapters out on paper first.) But I figured I'd let you know. And as you know I own nothing everything else belongs to Hiro Mashima. I am merely borrowing them for my own amusement. I do however own Cecilia as well as the guild she's from as well as all other characters in her guild. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter 10.
Lucy didn't know what was going on as she pulled a few more people from a ruined building. Sweat trickling down her brow, making her hair stick to her face, but despite everything she hoped her friends were fairing just as well as she was. Brushing off the words of gratitude people said to her as she walked off, walking down the street she noticed how quiet it had gotten, it seemed things were finally going back to normal.
Lucy breathed a sigh of relief, good, she thought, pushing her hair back from her face. Because she was exhausted and all she wanted to do was go home and sink into a nice, hot bath and just relax. Rounding the corner she was greeted by Natsu and Happy standing before a smoldering building. Several people staring at the pink haired dragon slayer like he had grown a second head. Obviously these people had just witnessed him devouring fire.
Shaking her head Lucy sighed, you'd think people of Magnolia would have gotten used to Fairy Tail's antics, including those of the resident Fire Dragon slayer. Waving at him as she made her way home, thanking god when she found her beloved home untouched. Good, because if something had happened to it she was more than certain that the landlady would have made her pay for it out of her own pocket. And she owed rent out at the end of the month. Stepping into her home she tossed her keys onto the end table before moving to her bathroom, leaving behind a trail of clothes behind as she did so. A content smile on her face as she filled the tub with hot water.
Standing up she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror she scowled when she saw that her face and hair were covered in a thin layer of grime. Turning away in disgust she slowly eased herself into the tub. A sigh escaping her lips as warmth engulfed her, her muscles relaxing as she let her head rest against the edge of the tub. Her eyes sliding closed.
She must've dozed off because the next moment she heard her lacrima phone going off. Biting back a curse as she reluctantly climbed out of the tub, wrapping a towel around herself she left the bathroom, and grabbed it off the table. And was soon greeted by the image of a worried looking Gray. Dread forming in the pit of her stomach, something was wrong.
"Gray? What is it what's wrong?" she asked, before the ice wizard could even get a word out.
"Lucy, is Erza with you, she hasn't returned to Fairy Hills. And no one seems to be able to find her." Gray said, concern tinting his voice.
At that moment it felt like someone had just dumped a bucket of ice water over her head as Gray told her this. Erza was missing? Lucy seemed unable to process this, looking back at Gray's face she struggled to find what she wanted to say. "What do you mean?" she finally choked out.
"Well several on-lookers have told me they remember seeing Erza fighting with some strange woman before things settled down, and the next thing they knew they were both gone." Gray said.
Lucy's throat felt dry as realization hit Lucy. Images of Cecilia flashing through her mind as she recalled what she knew about their case they had been working on. Dread forming in her stomach as she thought about the only real reason Erza could be missing, and that Cecilia and her little band of goons had to have some hand in it. Lucy had no doubt that they were behind some of the most recent kidnappings and deaths, and now they had Erza and were doing god only knew what to her.
"Lucy!" Gray's voice snapped her from her worrying thoughts, meeting his eyes she opened to her mouth, she wanted to say something, to tell him what she knew but the words just wouldn't come.
Then without thinking she snapped the communications lacrima shut on Gray as she got to her feet. She knew this was stupid, careless, she knew she should inform her guild on what was going on what she knew but it was almost like she had no control of her actions. Grabbing her keys and whip and all but flew out the front door. Ignoring the questioning look her landlady had given her as she raced down the street towards where she last saw Erza. Racing down one of the streets, heart thundering in her chest as she looked left and right, searching for anything that would tell her where Erza was...
And there she was, the blonde wizard. Cecilia felt a smile creep to her face as she watched from her usual perch on the rooftops as the Celestial Wizard raced through the streets no doubt looking for her lost friend. And though Cecilia knew she should have taken her leave after grabbing Erza. She knew she should return to the guild post haste but it seemed she was unable to leave just yet. After all ever since their last encounter Lucy haunted her thoughts, sure, compared to Erza she was nothing to write home about. But despite this Cecilia couldn't help but picture Lucy's flawless skin marred with cuts and burns, she wanted to hear her scream. After all, all work and no play made her a dull girl. So... biting down on her bottom lip once more she dropped down to the ground below, landing behind Lucy as the blonde woman turned around. Brown eyes narrowed as they settled on her. Her mouth curling as they did so.
"You!" Lucy snarled, as she gripped her whip her knuckles turning white as they did so.
"Hello, dear." Cecilia cooed, a smirk gracing her features. "Looking for your little friend?"
That alone confirmed Lucy's suspicions as she glowered at the woman before her. "Where did you take her? Where did you take Erza?" She demanded.
Cecilia only shrugged her shoulders, that same, slimy smile never leaving her face. A thrill going through her body at the anger shining in those chocolate brown eyes of Lucy's eyes. Beautiful.
Gritting her teeth Lucy lunged at her, as Cecilia leapt out of the way, Lucy's whip cracking against the cobblestones where she once stood. Letting out a laugh Cecilia allowed magic to flow to her fingers, crackling at the tips before lashing out at Lucy. Hitting her square in that face, blood erupting from her nose. Hitting the ground, Lucy let out a strangled cry.
"I know you're looking for you little friend so I'm going to let you in on a little secret." Cecilia said, sauntering up to her, as she struggled to pick herself up. Blood dripping onto the ground below. "My guild and I have something big planned for Miss Scarlet. She is, after all, our final sacrifice."
"Sa-sacrifice?!" Lucy choked out, "a sacrifice for what?" she asked, as Cecilia stood before her.
"A sacrifice to bring the Old Goddess back, and when we do..." At that Cecilia threw her head back and laughed. And in that moment Lucy couldn't help but wonder if the woman before her was completely sane.
"The Old Goddess? Tell me, what guild are you from?" Lucy asked.
Cecilia looked to her pondering her question. What harm could it do in letting her know, it wouldn't matter in the long run. Shooting Lucy a toothy grin she rolled up her right sleeve, revealing a guild mark of a rose entwined with thorny looking vines. "My guild, little Fairy, is called the White Rose Guild. A dark guild if you're really curious."
Confusion was etched on Lucy's face as she heard the guild name. Images of various guild emblems flashing through her mind, but before she could piece any of this together Cecilia lunged at her once more. Driving her knee into Lucy's jaw, causing her to stagger backwards before Cecilia followed through with the kick to her stomach. Knocking the wind out of her lungs.
Collapsing onto the ground, coughing, saliva spilling past her lips as Lucy glared up at Cecilia as the woman continued to advance on her.
"When the Old Goddess awakens..." Cecilia said, grabbing a handful of Lucy's hair, jerking her head up. Breath hot against Lucy's cheek, a crazed glint in her eyes as she looked down at Lucy. "Everyone will suffer. But you..." Cecilia drew closer to Lucy, making the blonde flinch and fight to get away from her, but Cecilia held fast. "You I will personally make you suffer, you will suffer worst than Erza ever will."
And with that she drove her knee into Lucy's already abused face, knocking her to the ground. Lucy watched as Cecilia disappeared as the darkness rose up to swallow her whole, and as it did, all Lucy could think of was Erza...
Authors Notes- And here is Chapter 10. Sorry it wasn't that great, and sorry these recent chapters were kind of actiony. But I assure you the next few chapters will be better, as well as the last. That's right like I said before there are only two more chapters left and this story will be complete. Despite that I hope you enjoyed it.
